miralax constipation

Has any had constipation during the first trimester??? Help tjis never happened to my third pregnancy.

My 18 year old college daughter has had problems with constipation. It is now severe. She has tried activia, colon health and even Miralax (16 doses the last 2 weeks) And so far nothing is really working. Her doctor suggested the Miralax, and blood work. CBC and thyroid. no results yet. But she is feeling real full and not much results even with the Miralax. Now there is a brown tongue, some times, and today puking, belly ache some diarrhea. But still now emptiness. She feels like crap.

I had the same problem. My doc also prescribed miralax. Im already swamped with other meds, so I decided to go natural to reduce the constipation. Try eating brown (wheat) instead of white and lots of green veggies (greens, spinach). It has done wonders for me.

I think Miralax is safe during pregnancy (in most cases), but check with your OB first! everyone is different, and I DON'T advise you to do/take anything without checking with him/her first!!

I suffer really badly from constipation I take Lactulose every day that seems to do the trick.

When I was constipated I bought miralax took at night before I went to bed and it worked for me. That's the only thing that worked me actually.

I am 10wks preggo and was wondering if Miralax is safe to take for constipation during pregnancy....I am very constipated and have been drinking Metamucil 2 times a day without any effectiveness....my husband is a pharmacist and says that it is safe because it doesn't enter the bloodstream, but I do not want to take something unless I know that it is safe. I have seen where it is category c. Thanks for your help....

No It won't, I've asked my doctor this when I was In my first trimester and she was tellin' me what symptoms to expect and she said It won't do anythin' to the baby. Thankfully, I haven't had constipation yet, whew. She told me If It happens, to eat plenty of high fiber foods and drink plenty of fluids. Whole-grains, fresh/dried fruits, vegetables, beans, and peas will do the trick (although I haven't had It happen to me, I'm not entirely sure If It works).

The beginning of my pregnancy my OB said I could take miralax to help with constipation, but now that I am 37w4d is it safe to take? I don't want to take it if it's going to affect baby in any way.

I know several of us struggle with constipation. I have been having okay results since June with Miralax and Colace. A few weeks ago I began having what looks to be blood in the stool. I told my onc right away. She said do not worry. It is probably from a blood vessel bursting. Well, I tried not to worry, but it did not work! Could the Miralax be the trouble?

I mix miralax with oj every morning and I have no other problems with constipation. It was horrible. The miralax is great it is gentle and completely dissolves so u don't even know u are taking it.

Prune juice or miralax, miralax helped with the gastric pain from constipation but prune juice helped me go. I'd go like a week with no poo, totally normal.

And I am extremely backed up. Does anyone have anything that they have used to relieve constipation that is baby safe!?

My daughter is going through that right now. Her Dr recommend half a cap of Miralax. It's safe and gentile and effective.

I drink orange juice and water like crazy to prevent constipation. Sometimes too much fiber can cause constipation as well. Miralax works well in softening the stools.

My doctor told me to take miralax. I have been. Its helped a little. I ate sauerkraut today. Ill tell you what, now I have the opposite problem!! Lol! Good luck!

The doc prescribed me some miralax. It seemed to work pretty great and is tasteless. I was on iron plus my prenatal still.

My friend said she takes magnesium every other day. I started doing that and its working for me.
