I have a constant yeast infection. I have taken a perscribed medication for it and over the counter and neither made it go away. Now I feel I have to choose between my skin and my sexual reproductive health. Is there a way to releive the yeast infection while on the antibiotics, or am I forced to stop acne treatment? I should mention I live in a remote town with no MD, I only get to see him once a year.
Also, he gave me 3 months worth of treatment - After this cycle can I stop taking it?
My concern is that after being on Minocycline for two weeks I developed a rash on my chest and arms, discontinued its use (rash went away) but developed a yeast infection about a 1.5 weeks after discontinuation (1/11/2010) and it has lasted at varying levels of intensity for a month. I've learned that persistent yeast infections and skin can be a sign of HIV infection.

I went to the dermatologist and he gave me pills for my face Solodine 80 MG which is Minocycline. The irritation got better with the Solodine but I still have irritation.
I told my girl friend to get treated and she went to her doctor but they checked her for everything and they said she they couldn’t treat her for something she doesn’t have. I told her to go back and get treated and she said her doctor finally gave her 2 pills.

m sorry you are continuing to worry about the possibility of infection. The minocycline you are taking for acne would have reduced your risk for infection if you were taking it at the time of exposure.
As far as treatment is concerned, minocycline can cure chlamydia but the dose you are taking is a bit lower than what might be recommended for chlamydial infection. Nonetheless, if you were infected and tool the drug for a month as you have, I would expect it to cure chlamydia.
I have been on Zoloft for about 7 months now, after dealing with crippling anxiety and depression. this medicine really worked wonders! recently I was put on Minocycline for my chronic forehead and shoulder acne, and I was all for the idea of clear skin, whether I had to take pills or not. ever since, slowly but surely, my anxiety is making a reappearance, along with my depression, both of which I thought were long gone.

I have taken the antibiotics which treat staph, strep, and other antibiotics such as minocycline and doxycycline. My skin is mainly just scaly and itches, every now and then I will get an outbreak of pimples. Have you even seen anyone have this much trouble with a skin problem and do you know what it could be? I have also been to an allergists and am not allergic to anything in particular.
I know that you have already answered questions about antibiotics affecting HIV tests, but I wanted to ask this specific question. I am on 50mg of Minocycline twice a day, every day, on a long term basis for acne. When I searched the internet, I found a handful of results about Minocycline affecting HIV patients.
Is a tetrocycline antibiotic such as minocycline adequate for treating a staph infection or would some other antibiotic be needed.
Also just to be clear are you suggesting the crease may be there now as a result of the staph infection or just the blepharitis.
Hello, in 2005 my mother was diagnosed with MRSA due to drainage from a back surgery and one day she woke up not feeling good and when we got her to hospital MRSA had invaded her entire body and my mom almost died. However the MRSA caused her to loose her ability to walk, control her bowel and bladder and it destroyed the nerves and after having MRSA, she constantly got infections of other kinds.

However, I had been on schedule to start Lyme disease treatment (Benemicin/rifampicine150mg and Minocycline 50mg - twice daily for both), and as I did not put any thought to an STD, I started the treatment. Some kind of yeast infection/thrush appeared on head of penis and foreskin few days later and went away only after I started applying canesten on the area. A week later my testicles started to hurt a bit.
So they are unrelated. Secondly minocycline is an antibiotic used for bacterial infection and not viral ones. Hence if you had improvement after minocycyline then possibility is that it is bacterial. To confirm the diagnosis, it is better to get a culture sensitivity of the bumps and to rule out any fungal infection, get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings of the bumps done. This will confirm the diagnosis and specific treatment can be planned.
Doc looked at my urine, said no white blood cells in urine, but decided to put me on 2 weeks of Minocycline 50mg twice daily. Two days after I started taking it my symptoms came ROARING back, including occasional discomfort in the perineum. I doubled-down to 100mg twice daily. After another 2-3 days without the symptoms getting much better I went to another clinic for a culture. Got tested for gonorrhea, chlamydia and mycoplasma. Three days later culture was ALL NEGATIVE.
I was offered the antibiotic from the dermatologist, but I only took it a short while due to the fear of a yeast infection, because I am already plagued by those. I tend to believe that endocrine hormones play a role in CRP. I would suggest a simple thyroid test from your doctor just to rule out an endocrine problem. I do not like CRP but as my hormone levels are getting better, so is it getting better and has become more tolerable to live with.
I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've had a couple bacterial infections and recently I've noticed some little white bumps in the vaginal area. I was wondering if this could be from the bacterial infection? Or if it could be from a yeast infection? I have an appointment tomorrow but it's really worrying me and I was just looking for some answers.
