They gave me a shot of antibiotics and two huge antibiotic pills, and did all the testing. They gave me the dosage as a precaution but thought that if I had no symptoms the Minocycline has cured it. The testing came back yesterday and I was positive for urine Gonorrhea, negative for oral, rectal, and HIV. Shypillis was still pending.

You really need to see a doctor to get properly diagnosed. Taking antibiotics you buy online may just make the organism resistant to the antibiotic or it may not be the right drug for the infection. How do you know it is infected rather than a canker sore or a burn from eating or drinking something hot? There are many antibiotics and most have side effects that can be really bad. A lot of drugs on line are not even at the dose they say they are.

Now have finished 2 yrs on daily antibiotic (minocycline and levaquin). Was doing well but have very unsightly and widespread blackening of skin, which does not clear up I believe my darkened cataracts developed as my skin blackened, and that this blackening residue is possibly in all my organs. Have recently dropped back to single minocycline/day (100 mg) but believe cysts may already be redeveloping.

Once I realized this all started happening after my dermatologist increased my dosage, I started doing some research online and found stuff that matched exactly to my symptoms, like literally exactly. Now its Tuesday night and I took my last minocycline pill on Saturday night before I realized that this is probably what is causing this (the hospital told me I probably have a migrane and sends me home still really sick).

I wonder if they could help you find a doctor that uses minocycline there in the UK. Best of luck to you.

Went to an LLMD in September who put me on Samento then after 6 weeks ie from October 21st I started using Minocycline 1tab every other day then after a week I had to increase my dosage to 2 tab every other day. Since 2 days I had severe itching and when I scratch it is turning into rash. The itching starts midnight which is causing me to wake up. I have the itching in by back, my joints. Did any experienced this.

We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). This worked fantastic for a few months. Eventually, I developed this odd rash on one side of my neck. The skin was very red and dry, somewhat scaly/bumpy, a bit raised, uneven + about the size/shape of my thumb. It kind of itched/hurt as well. I wasn't sure if it was connected to my skincare or not, so I continued with my routine.

I have been reading that minocycline can cause black thyroid in some people and can take up to a year to reverse after stopping medication. it is given to teenagers for acne and my son was on it for 6 mths twice a day having severe headaches yet the dr ignored it until I googled and realized that it could be effecting his thyroid and causing the headaches since those were listed as symptoms and wondered if anyone else ran into that.....his thyroid test did come back 4.6 with the top normal of 4.

t really understand what the connection was, but I wanted to know if I could trust my HIV test results even though I am on Minocycline, and was for months before, during, and after my HIV test. Also, just to ease my mind, is there ANYTHING else that could effect the validity of an HIV test (aspirin, menstrual cycle, diet, anything)? The test was a rapid antibody test. Can someone please weigh in and tell me could minocycline possibly be used as a PEP drug for HIV? And if so, should I be worried about my status? Should I test again? I'm worried because I read on the web minocycline is an investigatory drug for HIV that has been shown to reduce replication of the virus. 3% not as strong as the retin a mico 0.1% i was on and minocycline 100 mg daily to 40 mg a day oracea for only redness and not pimples would help ?seems like it would make it worse..please explain...

My doctor prescribed me minocycline and I started taking it for about four days and then found out I was pregnant. He also will not help with symptom management while treating the root cause. He has done numerous shady things in my experience. I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! Everything I've read is telling me that minocycline is extremely bad to take while pregnant or becoming pregnant.

All, I recently had a standard STD screen and my RDR test showed positive and came back at 1:8 for the quant. test. I have a scalp condition I've had for years that my dermatologist treats with 200mg daily of minocycline. I'm wondering 2 things: 1) Could the same scalp condition cause the RDR test to show a false-positive? Especially a 1:8 reading? 2) If it IS truly positive, is Minocycline 200mg daily (which I've taken for 2+ yrs) sufficient to treat for syphillis?

I was off minocycline for five days before I started birth control,as starting will the minocycline still be in my system and effect the birth control?
