Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.

Hi, The adverse effects from minocycline hydrochloride treatment are uncommon, but there are few reported cases of hyperpigmentation as a side effect of its use. The cutaneous hyperpigmentation usually resolves after cessation of the drug. Tooth discoloration, however, generally remains. Pigmentation associated with minocycline most often appears in patients after long-term therapy, usually at doses greater than 100 mg per day.

There are many antibiotics and most have side effects that can be really bad. A lot of drugs on line are not even at the dose they say they are. Also, only some bacteria are sensitive to mnocycline or a particular antibiotic . You can't just take an antibiotic and expect it to work unless you know what bacteria you have and which antibiotics work for it and if that particular strain is resistant to start with.

Mood stabilizers vary in effectiveness on both mania and depression. Lamictal from what I believe is better on depression than mania. Depakoate is better on depression. Lamictal in high doses can enduce mania as it did in me so it had to be discontinued by my psychiatrist. However, that was over time. Generally I found it safe and effective. Tegretol is hardly used in the United States anymore due to drug interactions.

Started Minocycline 100mg 2x per day for suspected neuro Lyme and feel horrible. I know herx is possible, but feel more like I'm experiencing side effects, and wondering if I should switch abx. How long should I stick with this? Anyone have success with Minocycline? Do the side effects lessen with time?

I had Mirena inserted for about 2 years. During that time I had tons of mood swings, lack of energy and problems with my skin. I was an emotional wreck and gained 20 lbs with no changes to my diet. It caused issues in my marriage with my moodiness. I finally had it removed and I've been about a year Mirena free. I have lost 15 within the past few months without even trying. It takes a while for the added hormones to leave your body. The weight I added it mostly gone.

Some people do much better than I did and expereince fewer side effects. I tend to be sensitive to meds and always have to read side effects of anything I take because I will get about half of them.

Yep, welcome to Tamoxifen. Those are all glorious side effects. Suggestion...try changing when you take Tamoxifen (try a couple weeks in the morning, couple weeks in the evening...couple weeks midday), take it with food...and also make sure you drink plenty of water in the day. I take mine usually midday now and the hot flashes have calmed down along with the mood swings.

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

How long does it usually take for the side effects to go away? Is constant fatigue apart of the drugs or the disease? Do you know anything about imuran that I may need to worry about?

i don't know about the dreams, but mood swings and lack of concentration are most definitely side effects.

Again I consult with second, he prescribed me mentioned above, But I read from Internet that Isotretinoin has many side effects including hair fall, so I neglect that dosage of Isotretinoin by afraid , only azithromycin took for 6 days. I havent had that many side-effects..ive had mood swings and pregnancy symptoms (nausea, cramping, and soooo tired) but nothing that i can't live with. i think i have put weight on but mostly thats me being lazy but i do think the implant holds your weight. I dont get periods with it...just a bit bleeding every now and then....and i really cant complain. as a student nurse its helped me as if i was on placement for a 12 hour shift with period pains.....well, no thank you!

Yes I have medication side effects that are in clinical study myself that are neurological but they are researching them and understanding what they are and I am working with them. Bipolar disorder is a specific psychiatric disability. It would not be caused by medications but they could cause mood disruptions.

i take it at night also, i would rather sleep off my hot flashes then be dripping at work. i think i just respond poorly to hormones, i had a lot of side effects when i was on bc 4 years ago. don't let my experience change your views, we are all different who knows you may not have any side effects. good luck, i hope it works!
