So for about the last 5 days I've had a dull annoying pain on my left side, kidney area. It feels sort of like a pressure almost gas bubble like, and sort of pulled muscle. Motrin seems to help but I hate taking it constantly. I also haven't been feeling 100% in general, more tired then usual and slight stomach issues, just all around not great. I'm fairly prone to kidney stones so I know what that feels like and I'm pretty sure that's not it.

The minocycline you are taking for acne would have reduced your risk for infection if you were taking it at the time of exposure. As far as treatment is concerned, minocycline can cure chlamydia but the dose you are taking is a bit lower than what might be recommended for chlamydial infection. I ended up in even more pain Saturday evening and they admitted me and finally realized it was a kidney infection. I spent from Saturday night until Wednesday afternoon. I was on iv antibiotics and iv fluids the whole time. I was discharged with instructions for modified bed rest and had to take macrobid the rest of my pregnancy to avoid it reoccurring. I ended up having my son at 35 weeks.

I have looked at symptoms of kidney infection and the only part that fits is the throbbing back pain. No fever, no nausea or vomiting, chills. I am fatigued, but I haven't been sleeping well because if the throbbing pain. I have been drinking plenty of fluids, cranberry juice and lots of water.
