I notice that you have suggested oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs to combat perioral dermatitis. I've been suffering from this condition for about 2 years. I was pregnant when I was diagnosed with it and my doctor was only comfortable prescribing a topical antibiotic. This did very little to help the condition.
d been there longer then normal. Months maybe. He informed me about minocycline induced hyprepigmentation and advised me to call my derm dr. asap. I did as soon as I got home and she took me off the mino immediately. Later that week I was brushing my teeth and happened to venture up a little further and noticed my upper gum line looked funny. I rinsed my mouth out and pulled up my upper lip to expose my gum line. And there it was...blue gums!!! I called my derm dr.
The only meds I am on now are Allegra, Zantac and just ending a four week round of Minocycline. If this is possibly from Minocycline, how long does it take for a drug induced rash to go away?
Some Antibiotics and sulfa drugs can trigger lupus and cause flares, I don’t know if Lamisil would be a cause without having a combination of a lot of different factors. I have heard of minocycline causing flares in those who already have Lupus. Autoimmune diseases are not easily detectable, your Rheumatologist needs to see you when you have a flare and should be running a lot of other tests on you to help diagnose. I've never heard of drug induced lupus, so you should probably give us more information, since we aren't a lupus forum..
I have no idea how thyroid med could cause lupus (I don't think it can), but I do know that some thyroid diseases and lupus are autoimmune. Once you have one auto-immune disease, the chances of getting another are much greater.
We need a lot more information.. what are your current thyroid hormone levels? Please provide results, with reference ranges...
having a diagnosis of "Lupus", Cardiomyopathy AND liver problems sounds like it could be bacteria induced. What are other symptoms? be very specific.
I went to two different dermatologists and both prescribed regular acne medications (topicals and minocycline) which did not help. When I finally made the connection to exercise, I stopped exercising completely and my skin completely cleared up. Every time I try mentioning the exercise thing to my doctor they say to just make sure I wash my face afterwards (trust me, I'm doing that!).
Is it possible that my levothyroxine is causing drug induced lupus. I went to the er in sept and with bloodwork they found I had a slightly elevated TSH of 15. Went to PCP and he put me on 200mcg. I soon found a new dr because my old would not listen to my symptoms of being over medicated. Anyways now I have a positive ANA and an elevated (4) RnP. I had no signs of lupus prior to starting this medication. And I really didn't have any thyroid symptoms other than dry skin and mild hair loss.

ve probably got steroid induced Rosacea. I am currently taking erythromycin antibiotic tablets to help with the inflammation. Can anyone please suggest anything else that may help me? Should I have weened myself off the steroid cream gradually?

I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! Everything I've read is telling me that minocycline is extremely bad to take while pregnant or becoming pregnant.
I was diagnosed with Lyme based on a positive Western Blot test and a Sunnybrook test that was indicative on the 93 band (I think that was the band) I am on Minocycline and was wondering if others out there were also on it and if it worked for them. I seem to be getting better. There are ups and downs but I am able to move much better than anytime in the past 7 and a half years. Just wondering how long one has to be on the drug and if it really makes you better.
I started minocycline feb 10 and conceived my baby feb 21 but i didnt stop the medicine until march 9 ( only because i didnt know i was preg) im 7 weeks now and i just wanna know has anybody else expericed this with a positive outcome ?
i have been taking minocycline 100 mg to 200 mg a day sometimes and using retin a micro 0.1% gel every night for 2 years.I have been getting alot of acne for the last 2 or 3 months so i went to my see my dermatologist.he said since i been taking minocycline 100 mg daily for 2 years and using the retin a micro 0.1% for 2 years and im still breaking out i should try something new like it may be wearing off....he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....
I have all of the symptoms, no money to get tested. I do have some old minocycline and tetracycline from old acne.
I was off minocycline for five days before I started birth control,as starting will the minocycline still be in my system and effect the birth control?
