The doctor says it is most likely drug induced by the minocycline she was taking for acne. She was immediately put on 60 mg of prednisone a day. Her face became very round and she gained some weight, not to mention the havoc it played with her emotions. She has now decreased the dosage and feels better. We are keeping a close eye on her labs. Her enzymes increased a bit with her last test, so that is somewhat of a concern for me, but the doctor didn't seem concerned.

The only meds I am on now are Allegra, Zantac and just ending a four week round of Minocycline. If this is possibly from Minocycline, how long does it take for a drug induced rash to go away?
I was recently told my ANA was positive, I was looking through my chart and found on the same blood test that my Alkaline Phosphatase was high, so with some internet searching i found hepatitis autoimmune may be indicated is this true? how do you get it or is it something you are born with? i am really unclear on this. Please help.
I went to two different dermatologists and both prescribed regular acne medications (topicals and minocycline) which did not help. When I finally made the connection to exercise, I stopped exercising completely and my skin completely cleared up. Every time I try mentioning the exercise thing to my doctor they say to just make sure I wash my face afterwards (trust me, I'm doing that!).
I am treated for my insomnia/anxiety with Temazepam 15mg and Trazodone 50mg. I also take Minocycline 100 mg once daily. The doc I saw today said I could not take ANY of those meds for him to treat me. I made a phonecall to Incivic/Teleprevir today and they say the only one I cant take is the Trazodone due to drug interactions. I called a pharmacist and was told the exact same thing. I want to be cured, but I also want to keep my sanity as much as possible in the process.
I notice that you have suggested oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs to combat perioral dermatitis. I've been suffering from this condition for about 2 years. I was pregnant when I was diagnosed with it and my doctor was only comfortable prescribing a topical antibiotic. This did very little to help the condition.

ve probably got steroid induced Rosacea. I am currently taking erythromycin antibiotic tablets to help with the inflammation. Can anyone please suggest anything else that may help me? Should I have weened myself off the steroid cream gradually?

I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! Everything I've read is telling me that minocycline is extremely bad to take while pregnant or becoming pregnant.
I was diagnosed with Lyme based on a positive Western Blot test and a Sunnybrook test that was indicative on the 93 band (I think that was the band) I am on Minocycline and was wondering if others out there were also on it and if it worked for them. I seem to be getting better. There are ups and downs but I am able to move much better than anytime in the past 7 and a half years. Just wondering how long one has to be on the drug and if it really makes you better.

I am on 50mg of Minocycline twice a day, every day, on a long term basis for acne. When I searched the internet, I found a handful of results about Minocycline affecting HIV patients.
I stopped Plavix - 3 days later ALT 124, AST 21. Before Plavix ALT 14, AST 18, platelets 281K. PCP dx is drug-induced hepatitis due to Plavix. While I agree Plavix caused me problems, my RUQ episode was textbook biliary colic. 4 years ago after pregnancy I had a week of clay-colored stools and RUQ pain after eating potato chips. No labs were done and US found no stones. I avoided fatty foods for years and had no other problems until now.
ve read on here that a person taking PEP should test after 3 months of being off PEP to obtain a conclusive result. I took minocycline for 4 months after possible exposure. Then got tested 3 and a half weeks later (around 5 months). Negative result. The test was a rapid antibody test. Can someone please weigh in and tell me could minocycline possibly be used as a PEP drug for HIV? And if so, should I be worried about my status? Should I test again?
I was diagnosed with a steriod induced rosacea, my question is this, will there be continual break outs while on treatment? I've been on treatment for a little over 2 weeks and it seems as if my face is getting bad again. It has not completly cleared up but is about 75% better then what it was before I was diagnosed. I am no longer on the steroid, off for 2 weeks now but am having "acne" if you will, breaking out still.
