i have been taking minocycline 100 mg to 200 mg a day sometimes and using retin a micro 0.1% gel every night for 2 years.I have been getting alot of acne for the last 2 or 3 months so i went to my see my dermatologist.he said since i been taking minocycline 100 mg daily for 2 years and using the retin a micro 0.1% for 2 years and im still breaking out i should try something new like it may be wearing off....he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....

Since my episode, I have taken 45 doses of 100 mg Minocycline in connection with my treatment for acne. I have read that taking antibiotics can affect syphilis test results. If I test for syphilis, will my minocycline medication lead to an inaccurate result? Furthermore, would the minocycline eradicate the syphilis from my body?
I'm on so much medicine for my chronic pain and they are always changing it. A lot of times, I end up cutting my dose in half if I think I don't need as much but still need something.
Okay, right now, before I had my coffee, I made a mistake. I cut 1/2 my oxycontin 40 mg. in half thinking it was my 30 mg, oxycodone. I had already taken my 40 mg. oxycontin at around 6 am like I'm supposed to. Went back to sleep and woke up to take my break through and accidently broke the 40 mg.
Have recently dropped back to single minocycline/day (100 mg) but believe cysts may already be redeveloping. I am reluctant to go back to the heavier antibiotic dosage but that may be necessary to avoid the extremely large cysts that were removed 2 yrs ago.
Question: is there a way to reduce or remove the large scale blackening of my skin, and is this a common side effect of long term antibiotics, such as minocycline or levaquin?
Problem started while I was taking minocycline for acne. Went in to student health. NP RXed 10 days doxycycline, 100 mg PO BID, sent me to ER. Had an ultrasound, confirmed it was epididymitis plus a hydrocele. They gave me a shot of ceftriaxone and told me to continue with the doxycycline. The ceftriaxone helped a great deal (swelling went down almost immediately) but as I continued the course of doxy the problem began to get worse again.
I followed up with a urologist.
I would pretreat with 2 weeks of minocycline and then go with 2 weeks of Lefamulin followed by 2 more weeks of minocycline.
if you finally get a positive, the FDA just approve Lefamulin, which has high activity against MG in vitro. If you’ve failed Moxifloxacin, I’d push for a minocycline/Lefamulin combo. It seriously is the only bit of hope that has come along in many years.

Ever since I sucked on my lips while concentrating last August I've had problems. For months it was just little zit looking things on my lipline with redness and flakes, only one to three at a time. Hi, when my dermatologist increased my dosage to 100 mg a day i started getting really sick. Chronic headaches, mostly concentrated behind my eyes which can't break no matter what I take (Ive been prescribed 800mg of ibuprofen, 800mg of naproxen, 15mg of promethazine, 4mg of zofran, and 5mg of prednisone, Ive even tried excedrin, NOTHING HAS WORKED), nausea so bad I sit in the bathroom half the day vomiting, ringing in my ears and dizziness so bad I can't stand up.
I was on Toprol XL 45 mg for 3 years and then on the generic Metoprolol Succinate for another 2. The cardiologist told me to stop it, I had shortness of breath and terrible night sweats. I cut them in half and did that for 10 days, then I took those half pills every other day for 10 more days and then I stopped. No ill effects.
can it be due to labetolol or other meds?plavix 75 mg minoxidol 10 mg,lisinopril 10 mg bumex 2mg or any folic acid, b-12,renavite,asprin or my binders?phoslo,renvela?I was wondering this cause I took a labetolol just before my pet and felt awful in pet scan tube,and have crashed dyalisys mach w/low hrt beat and had to pause a while,getting a sonogram next thurs and I am worried that I will no longer be a candidate for a kidney.....
