We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). This worked fantastic for a few months. Eventually, I developed this odd rash on one side of my neck. The skin was very red and dry, somewhat scaly/bumpy, a bit raised, uneven + about the size/shape of my thumb. It kind of itched/hurt as well. I wasn't sure if it was connected to my skincare or not, so I continued with my routine.
he said since i been taking minocycline 100 mg daily for 2 years and using the retin a micro 0.1% for 2 years and im still breaking out i should try something new like it may be wearing off....he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.

I have been on Minocycline for acne for well over a year. Usually I take 50mg twice a day, although for the last month have been on 75mg twice a day. If by some freak chance I had rectally contracted Gonorrhea or Chlamydia, would this antibiotic take care of it?
I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! When I finally made the connection to exercise, I stopped exercising completely and my skin completely cleared up. Every time I try mentioning the exercise thing to my doctor they say to just make sure I wash my face afterwards (trust me, I'm doing that!).
I have been reading that minocycline can cause black thyroid in some people and can take up to a year to reverse after stopping medication. it is given to teenagers for acne and my son was on it for 6 mths twice a day having severe headaches yet the dr ignored it until I googled and realized that it could be effecting his thyroid and causing the headaches since those were listed as symptoms and wondered if anyone else ran into that.....his thyroid test did come back 4.6 with the top normal of 4.
I have all of the symptoms, no money to get tested. I do have some old minocycline and tetracycline from old acne.

i was given this monocyline Hcl 100mg with cream which has this oleanolic acid formula.is this cream for acne scars or acne?or for both?i have been using both tablet and cream for 20 days.i didn't see much of the change in fadeness of scars or maybe it takes time.please let me know what is this cream exactly for.
Hi. I have been on minocycline since I was 21 (now 29) for acne. I recently went to a new family practice Dr. While I was there he noticed I was on mino and asked how long I'd been taking it. I told him my acne treatment history. He pointed out that my shines were green (look like bruises). He asked how long I'd had those "bruises". I replyed that they'd been there longer then normal. Months maybe.
I have been on Minocycline for coming up 9 years now and i'm currently down to one 50mg pill a day to control my acne, my question is what effects does it have on my cognitive ability and memory over such a long period of time.
s opinion on the effectiveness of Accutane on smaller acne heads. My acne is on my face, neck, back, and chest. There are not very many big acne heads (I have benzoyl peroxide5%, Differin 3%, and Minocyclin 100 mg twice a day). These medications play a big part in my not having many big zits.
Anyways, I have lots of little acne heads all over. How effective is Accutane at getting rid of these heads and keeping them off? (from your experience or from official sources)

I am not aware of any information that suggests that minocycline, or for that matter, any other antibiotic acts to either increase risk for HIV acquisition or would modify the performance of tests for HIV. Current tests for HIV look for antibodies. Antibody production in response to infection is not changed by antibiotics, menses or any of the other factors. The results of HIV antibody tests are to be believe.
A week later I developed an ulcer and swelling on the shaft of the penis. I take minocycline (antibiotic) for acne, but had not taken it for about one month. I started taking it a couple days after the sore and swelling appeared, and both subsided within 3 days.
It has been almost five weeks since my encounter. I have not had any fever or noticed any enlargement of my lymph nodes. I did have a sore throat for a couple days recently, but that passed.
The testing came back yesterday and I was positive for urine Gonorrhea, negative for oral, rectal, and HIV. Shypillis was still pending.

I get it on my chest, back and face I have went to a derm since I was 18 but it never seemed to really help and I felt like since my acne was mild they never really cared. When I get acne it lasts for multiple weeks or months which is why its so agonizing especially cause afterwards I am left with post acne marks that can last up to a year. I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. The dermatologist gave me amoxicilliyn for about 2 years which cleared up the cysts and acne. I stopped taking amoxicil. for 7 months and went to another dermatologist who put me on minocycline. but i feel that the cysts are coming back. In the mean time i went to the dentist for pain with #30, and she said that i have an old infection there and i shouldnt feel any pain because there isnt a root. Would tooth #30 have a correlation to the health of my skin?
