I stopped taking the medicine after only 3 weeks and needless to say, I am still breaking out in hives and have joint pain. I have been tested for allergies and that was negative. I have had bloodwork done and it was negative. Just wondering if anyone else was experiencing same symptoms. I am going insane trying to deal with this!
I also haven't been feeling 100% in general, more tired then usual and slight stomach issues, just all around not great. I'm fairly prone to kidney stones so I know what that feels like and I'm pretty sure that's not it. When it first started I thought maybe it was the start of a kidney stone attack but it never materialize to that kind of pain. I'm posting on here just to start to figure out what the problem may be and what action I should take.
My primary care doc did a CBC, and said all was normal, but told me to get off the minocycline. I stopped one week ago, and since then have felt slightly better (no breakout!), but have continued to have the throat problem, along with fatigue. I am a long distance runner and suddenly can't train. I have these "attacks" where my throat feels very swollen, accompanied by lots of burping and sharp pains to my esophogus. Could this all be a result of long-term antibiotic use?
My sister has very bad knees. Indeed it has been recommended that she have two total knee replacements. She is stubborn and refuses surgery and to take a narcotic. She claims celebrex works wonders for her. There are some nasty side effects with this NSAID but she has not experienced any of them thus far. I have deep fistulas inner aspect of my left patella and was advised to have surgery also. I use a heating pad on my knee when it flares. I use heat wrap when I want to be mobile.
It is severe and I don't know what is wrong. This was 5 days ago and it hurts very bad. I have seen several doctors for the scalp pain and they are still not sure what caused this or how to treat it. The pain is enough to make me physically ill and not want to eat. It brings me to tears every day. Could she have damaged the nerves or follicles? She said she didn't pull out any hair, but I think she did. I have never felt this much pain before. Please help me!
I first noticed that I had CRP about 4 years ago. I'm 19 now. I tried Minocycline once when I was 16 but stopped taking it because I thought that's what was giving me upset stomachs. I failed to realize that it could have been the new birth control with more hormones that I just started taking to that was giving me the upset stomachs. So another dermatologist perscribed me one of the drugs in the tetricycline family, I don't remember what it was called though.
Hello, Some of the side effects of Cynomycin(minocycline) are dizziness, nausea, vomiting and stomach upset, hives, blurred vision, blood in stools, headache, joint pain and muscle pain. There are currently four oral contraceptives approved by the FDA for the treatment of acne: Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Estrostep, and Yaz. These are available under prescription. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Warm regards.
com there were pictures of people with parasites and stomach problems that had all of the same symptoms that you and I had. I took the detox program and passed a 3foot tapework! I was actually depleted from all of my vitamins and minerals and getting very sick because of this parasite that I had. I immediately felt better and lost 20lbs, my hair skin and nails improved, all of my symptoms were cured and without medicine!! Do you know that my Dr. wanted to just put me on pain killers.
And now all of a sudden since a gastric issue in November, my body is completely out of wack and have all this neuropathy and twitching and muscle pain especially in my legs and feet, and sometimes arms.
C seem to work so much better for the pain and stiffness. I'm still taking these, periodically for the pain and stiffness....when needed. I've had many bladder infections, through the years. Not one antibiotic would completely kill the bacteria. Also, the toothaches were terrible! I wear dentures. My gums still hurt, from time to time...not related to dentures. The electrical, sharp pains in my ears, head and legs would almost drop me to the floor.
About two years ago I started to have pain, especially with intersourse, and redness and swelling around the inner labia. I was diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis and I've tried creams, pills, physio therapy and nothing. About a month and a half ago I started to notice a white buildup around the outside of my inner labia and my clitoris. It sounds exactly like what you've described, it can be cleaned away but no matter how often I do it there always seems to be more.
S, I was able to have a love session with my partner (figure from wednsday (horrible pain) and by saturday night (love session no pain) my partner was of course extra super gentle!
It was amazing what a small dose of minocycline along with the Benicar could do. I had herxing symptoms and felt worse as a result. The Marshall Protocol is a research protocol. You can google for more information.
There is no smell though, no fishy smell or bad smell at all, and no fever, or stomach pain, or anything abnormal in that area. I was prescribed diflucan and took one of those, but still have this awful discharge. I can't get into my doctor for another 3 weeks, should I go to an urgent care ?
fever, yellowing of the eyes or skin, stomach pain, sore throat, vision changes and mental changes. Follow up with your doctor regularly and report to him/her if you notice any abnormal symptoms. Regards.
Not alergic to penicilin or any drugs and never had any reaction to any medicine (worst ever was a slight stomach discomfort if taken on empty stomach and such). I would think I was imagining this but this guy reported something similar: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Urology/Prostatitis-after-Chlamydia-infection-cleared/show/226205 "During the Doxy course however the symptoms worsened a LOT." Now what? Stop?
rash, skin lesions/sores, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing, loss of appetite/weight loss, new or worsening swelling/pain in the joints, swollen glands, chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, severe stomach/abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine. This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
For the last week I have been experiencing diarrhea, frequent trips to urinate though no pain, and little red spots on my tongue that you can't really see unless you are close to a mirror. The diarrhea isn't that bad,but I do have stomach cramps. Are these symptoms of an std? I have been researching this online and every site says something different. Some sites say it could be an std others say that it isn't.
It had been hurting since the day it happened. I'm taking minocycline for acne, would that help if was a UTI and is therapy really an option or am I over-reacting?
I seem to have developed 'very bad acid reflux' - type symptoms - I am swallowing mucous constantly - feels like somrthing is stuck in my throat - I can feel slight burning acid in my throat - my ears feel blocked and painful - I am doing a lot of belching ! - and there is pain in my breast bone. - do you think it is the 'doxy' causing this {I have had pain/congested feeling in my ears before starting abx.
For my Bart, I have been through rifampin (gave me stomach pain, which just added to the existing Bart caused stomach pain), Avelox, which gave me an achilles heel cramp, Levaquin, which seemed to work well for me, but also caused achilles heel discomfort, and now I am starting Bactrim. I started Plaquenil last week. I believe the Bactrim/Plaq combo is also good against both Bart and Lyme when they go intracellular.
broke lose. Hip pain, back pain, muscle aches and spasms everywhere. Stumbling (havent' fallen) I get vertigo (not to often) but when I get it I get it bad to the point I can't get up from sitting and it can last all day. Umm, oh yes, swollen hands/feet, red and warm to touch. Went to the PCP and he ran blood work and my Sed rate was at that point up to 50+ and Vit D was lvl 6. Other then that everything else was good.
I first took Azithromycin and Rifampin, but eventually figured out the Rifampin was causing heartburn and contributing to my chronic stomach pain. I was diagnosed with h.pylori and campylobater shortly after that, but even after they were treated, the stomach pain continued. After I switched from Rifampin to Levaquin, the stomach pain decreased and the heartburn went away. Levaquin seemed to do a better job of clearing up my Bart anxiety and neuro symptoms than the Rifampin did.
*throat/ear pain *shortness of breath *chest pain *chills *joint pain *weak muscles *eye pain *frequent headaches *hot flashes *burning skin *lightheaded * fast heart rate * constipation and diarrhea *stomach problems... i got a fever only once and it was 104 Well, there is much more symptoms than that, but this can sum it up. I have not been tested for lyme yet, and I know the test is not accurate.
I went on Accutane and noticed a small difference, but about 6 months later I had sevre stomach pain, and come to find out I had Aulcers. But that was 3 years ago, and now they don't bother me, but they will be with me for life.
So glad you found a doctor you're happy with! That is key to recovery. When I was first diagnosed with Lyme and Bartonella, I was on Rifampin for the Bart. It didn't seem to do much for me. I switched to Levaquin and that worked much better. I really felt better on that. But I had to stop taking it after 2-3 months because of tendon pain.
I have tried everything, from relaxation techniches, minocycline, naproxens which helps with my pain and inflamation and sweeling. A friend suggested I use collidal silver which kills the bacteria in the blood. I have also come to pray to God to release me from this hell. I can sympathize with everyone who has to deal with this horrible disease, and it seems cruel to realize that there is no known cure, only treatment. How can any one of us hold a normal job?
I already have stomach issues so I am worried that it will really tear up my stomach. I am not a dairy eater and try to avoid it at all times. I do take a strong pro-biotic but don't really think it does much. What say you all? Will my symptoms only get worse? If I take the antibiotics he wants to also start one week later on IV Rocefin and it's not covered by my insurance. It will cost me about 2,000 and again not guarantees. Anyone know why my insurance will not cover the IV rocefin?
I have worse nausea than usual and my joints are very stiff and painful, there is a lot of pressure and feelings of heat in my head, my thinking is muddled, my face is tingling and periodically flushing, my back aches from sitting for just a moment, I have pain down my legs when I walk, and my legs feels like they are made of lead. Well, I could go on. It's stuff I usually have, it just feels like it is all on the "high" setting.
Recent IgeneX WB only positive at band 41, so another negative test. Started a low dose of minocycline and do believe I have had a moderate herx reaction. I see the doctor again next month and am awaiting PCR tests on 4 different strains od Borrelia, including lonestari. I was bit in North Carolina, so lonestari is a good possibility and would be why my tests to burgdorferi are negative. PCR has a very low yeild, though, so I am not expecting much. My CD57 is fairly low at 60.
