I got the same..it could be klebsiella or chlamydia cell and skin infection (SSTI) they said that it must be surgically drained to get rid of the bacteria....However I used Bactroban + gentamycin + tumeric powder applied abundantly on the meatus then cover it up with a condom...Did it every 4 hrs after urination / beofre sleeping for the night.After 2-3 weeks, the cellulitis changed into episyphellas then fading away...
I have been reading that minocycline can cause black thyroid in some people and can take up to a year to reverse after stopping medication. it is given to teenagers for acne and my son was on it for 6 mths twice a day having severe headaches yet the dr ignored it until I googled and realized that it could be effecting his thyroid and causing the headaches since those were listed as symptoms and wondered if anyone else ran into that.....his thyroid test did come back 4.6 with the top normal of 4.
t really understand what the connection was, but I wanted to know if I could trust my HIV test results even though I am on Minocycline, and was for months before, during, and after my HIV test.
Also, just to ease my mind, is there ANYTHING else that could effect the validity of an HIV test (aspirin, menstrual cycle, diet, anything)?

I know you said this thread is ended but could you please take a look at this and tell me what you think of it and could this data indicate that minocycline could indeed slow down replication making it possible for delayed seroconversion, which would make my test at the 5 month mark inaccurate.

This is where all of my anxiety has came from.
The test was a rapid antibody test. Can someone please weigh in and tell me could minocycline possibly be used as a PEP drug for HIV? And if so, should I be worried about my status? Should I test again?
I'm worried because I read on the web minocycline is an investigatory drug for HIV that has been shown to reduce replication of the virus.

A month later i had another culture sent and it grew back Klebsiella(gram+). My ID doc thought these 2 may have been contaminant's, but based on klebsiella sensitivity pattern, tx me with bactrim.
3% not as strong as the retin a mico 0.1% i was on and minocycline 100 mg daily to 40 mg a day oracea for only redness and not pimples would help ?seems like it would make it worse..please explain...

The test results yileded Klebsiella bacteria! So basically I have this bacteria infection around my mouth and it causes the PAINFUL pimples? I have been googling Klebsiella skin infections but I dont see any pictures to compare mine to. Is it normal for these painful, ugly, pimples to occur? They look like pimples but I always knew they were different - I could tell there was a difference between a certian pimple I got like on my forehead compared to these mouth ones.
As I said above, the answers are easily available on the HIV forum: "You will find all kinds of discussions that make it clear that your HIV risk is low and your symptoms don't suggest ARS." That is still true, and it the aphthous stomatitis, klebsiella, and your ESR results. I also said "Or, since you're worried, just have an HIV test if it hasn't been done." Since your exposure was a few months ago, that's the way to get over your anxieties.
Since you are on this post, Klebsiella pneumonia can be normal bacteria in your intestines. It can also cause urinary tract infections, infections in wounds and sometimes pneumonia in immunocompromised people. So, the fact that you have a Klebsiella sp. in your urine isn't surprising if you have an infection there as it is a relatively common organism for a urinary tract infection. It is unlikely you would get pneumonia from it.
I had a vaginal delivery 10 months back with a very bad tear and it took 6 months to heal and was fine for 3 months and after that I was diagnosed with vaginal pus on the vaginal wall stuture and the pus was drained and the pus culture report says the bacteria is Klebsiella pneumoniae I am worry ied how it could caused and for recurrence? Now I am have two more small boils near the wall.
I will answer your questions in a moment but, before I do, let me encourage you to go on and get tested. You have no reason whatsoever to not get tested. Your test will probably be negative and when it is, you can stop worrying. On the other hand, in the hugely unlikely change that you turn out to have HIV, you could seek care and take precautions to not give it to others. Getting a test will not, change whether or not you have an infection, just let you move on with your life. GET TESTED.
I have an overgrowth of +4 Klebsiella in my bowels and i cannot find a way to get rid of it! I have been on antibiotics now for 15 days and don't feel any different. I have just been treated for Candida and Blastocystis Hominis which i can happily say i don't have anymore. But i still have symptoms from the Klebsiella, Can someone help?

I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! Everything I've read is telling me that minocycline is extremely bad to take while pregnant or becoming pregnant.
I started minocycline feb 10 and conceived my baby feb 21 but i didnt stop the medicine until march 9 ( only because i didnt know i was preg) im 7 weeks now and i just wanna know has anybody else expericed this with a positive outcome ?
All, I recently had a standard STD screen and my RDR test showed positive and came back at 1:8 for the quant. test. I have a scalp condition I've had for years that my dermatologist treats with 200mg daily of minocycline. I'm wondering 2 things:
1) Could the same scalp condition cause the RDR test to show a false-positive? Especially a 1:8 reading?
2) If it IS truly positive, is Minocycline 200mg daily (which I've taken for 2+ yrs) sufficient to treat for syphillis?
I was off minocycline for five days before I started birth control,as starting will the minocycline still be in my system and effect the birth control?
I could not find a testing location in our rural location, read about Gonorrhea and knew that was my issue, I had discharge, pain while urinating. I took some of her Minocycline 200 MG for two days and three days of 100MG ALL SYMTOMS disappeared. I abstained from sex and took my first appointment at testing center in the city which was last Friday. They gave me a shot of antibiotics and two huge antibiotic pills, and did all the testing.
