Common Questions and Answers about Mini stroke signs and symptoms in women

stroke

Hello! Just wanted to put in my two cents. Ok I had a mini stroke (TIA) and this is what I suggest according to your symptoms. Maybe you only had a TIA, where there is no damage.
I went to the PCP and Neurologist two days later and had an MRI 5 days later and they saw a stroke in the cerebellum and signs of a mini stroke that they classified as 'old'. I fortunately did not have ongoing loss of speech, or weakness in limbs etc...but have suffered from weird dizziness and electric shock feelings in my head. They seem to get better - but then get wrose again....Dr's are saying it is maybe anxiety --but is not. I have had anxiety before and these are different.
During my fifth month of pregnancy I did have something like a mini stroke while I was driving. I spent a week in the hospital and was immediately put on bed rest. He was born 2 weeks early by a planned c-section and was born not breathing. He was under weight and still has health problems like asthma, allergies, and an immunity defense abnormality. My body suffered as well. They were unsure if I could even carry this baby full term, let alone deliver.
My husband and I would like to have a child, but are unsure about my health issues and pregnancy. My stroke was due to a dissection in my left vertebral artery and I have been told that it has healed completely. However, I experience dizziness and unwell feelings around menstruation, which I'm sure is due to hormones, which makes me nervous about pregnancy. Any information would be helpful. I have looked on the internet and have not really found anything.
in the heart which can travel to the vessels of the brain and possibly cause a stroke. Have you seen a Neurologist? Some of the symptoms you describe sound like Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Also, when you mention symptoms of weakness, fatigue and "reflux" I begin to worry that you may have some severe stomach irritation, possibly even to the point where you may have an ulcer and/or intestinal bleeding.
The metabolism of aspartame in the human body and the proposed toxicities from its metabolic components have concerned a lot of people and have been the emphasis of many post-marketing surveillance studies. Aspartame is metabolized by digestive enzymes and peptides to three common dietary components: amino acids, aspartic acid, and phenylalanine. Minute amounts of methanol can also be detected.
I have been spotting on and off for a week or so now and have been having wierd symptoms in my breast and abdominal area. I seriously need to know what is going on, and if this is something that happens to a lot of women; the fact of the Mirena falling out and these wierd breast and abdominal pains. One of my breast have been very itchy and I have had shooting pains shoot through my breast. My abdomin has been very, very tender from the bottom of my ribs down.

Now you are going to tape the key in a small heavy stock of paper and fold it over and tape it shut (just like a mini greeting card) place it in an envelope, put your own address on it and mail it!!!!!!! you wanna make sure the key is taped strait up and down in the heavy paper not sideways (because mail machines bend envelopes) and if your safe key has a molded black end on it take it to a key maker and get a totally flat key made! and throw away the other keys! only have one!
Try doing some outdoor walking and jogging and compare if you have the same flu like symptoms in Gym and outside. If you only have them in the gym then you are allergic to something, you have to find that out and prevent it. Take care!
My hands and feet are almost always cold (in fact, they are right now), and I fall in and out of relatively mild depression. I have been told that carrying the thalassemia trait has no obvious symptoms, but I've been poking around forums a little bit, and the symtoms I experience seem to be fairly common. I'm still looking for ways to lessen the intensity of these symptoms, but for me I've found that maintaining physical activity helps, as well as not oversleeping, or overeating.
I just reread my post and realized I didn't post all my symptoms. I basically have constant pressure in my head and ears that varies between annoying and feeling like it's about to burst. The throbbing headaches are not constant but happen quite a bit the more I move my head. Sometimes I feel a squeezing sensation in my head. I sometimes get tinnitus and my hearing seems to go temporarily quiet.

Foods high in antioxidants, such as blueberries and cooked artichokes, have been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, cancer, Parkinson’s disease and memory loss. In a study published in May 2013 and conducted by the University of Navarra in Spain, researchers observed 522 participants, between the ages of 55 and 80, with conditions that put them at high risk for cardiovascular disease.
I drove a big service van and carried hundreds of pounds of equipment up ladders sometimes three stories high all day long. I worked on 135 degree roofs in summer and below freezing in winter. I still love mechanical things. Oh and I did this after dropping out of Grad School for Art History.
i recently went for a physcial exam and my doc found that i have swelling in my right under arm and asked me to get an ultrasound scan done. i got ultrasound scan done and they said that the lump is my breast tissue and referred me to a surgeon. i am yet to meet the surgeon...would any one please let me know, how the procedure is done, will u be given genereal anesthersia, how much does it costs, how long do we need to stay in the hospital..
I was diagnosed about 9 years ago. I have an arachnoid cyst in my brain (left temporal lobe) and had a shunt inserted in 1998. I've also had 4 mini strokes. They were cause by hypercoagulable cerebrovascular disease with a circulating IGM (44) ( anticardiolopid antibody syndrome). These have all been stable for the last 10 years and I have not had any major problems. I also have an autoimmune disorder which causes inflamation in my body, especially in my legs.
It scares me, especially since my husband had brain surgery less than 2 years ago- (symptoms completely different of course) I am 35 years old, the only time I remember hitting my head really hard is when I was in elementary school and I fell and hit my head on a tile floor. I have had a history of passing out and having seizures but the doctors never figured out for sure what caused it and it hasn't happened for a few years.
I have always been very in control and dependant and then these panic attacks started. I just finished my 2nd pack of pills and that is the only thing that I have done different. The attacks came within the 1st wk or so of starting the pack.,so I have no idea how long before they go away. My OBYGN thinks that there is something more physcological going on with me but I am telling all who reads this that it is this PILL YAZ!!!!
I have been taking a regimen of vitamins that has helped a lot in my symptoms and comfort. I every now and then get really bad itching, but not as much. The combo is acidophillus, garlic, grapefruit seed extract, Vitamin C, and echinacea. I don't know the exact mg, but just look it up. Something that recently happend to me was an abnormal result on a pap smear. Does anyone know if this can be from GSB? This is soemthing new, so I haven't had a chance to ask my gyno yet. Hope this helps.
Went on to say that it had been used in Europe for a couple years and only 4 )if I recall correctly) caabuse/dependence had occured. We thought it was great... we often DID have to detox people from opiates who had genuine pain. Great that at least we could do something about the pain while we tried to get them through withdrawal. Second day after we had been giving a couple folks ultram, started noticing that nurses didn't need to go find patients when time for their next dose of ultram...
I have had the same symptoms in my lower left leg. I Googled the problem and found your comments. I am going to the Dr. on Monday. I will post what ever I find.
I have had a hysterectomy in '95' and then my ovaries out in '96' so those weren't options in this case. I find it amazing that we can have these symptoms but no diagnosis. I don't deal well with Dr.s who say that the test came out negative isn't that wonderful. Yea well thats great so where is the pain coming from. I am starting to doubt the medical industry. In as much as technology today is phenominal, people are still in pain and they cannot seem to find the reason for the pain.
for depression, and then in early 2005 had another stroke. He was then started on Topamax. He has lost 40 lbs, and he cannot afford to lose any more. But, I am seriously contemplating asking my MD to prescribe Topamax for me for weight loss. I think maybe my blood pressure will also decrease, and I am sure my feet and joints won't hurt anymore if I can get this extra 60 lbs off me. As I said, I am 66 years young, and am interested if any other young seniors are in my shoes.
I don't have allergies of any kind and I'm in excellent health and I can learn to live with the smell of fresh baked bread in my nostrils.. I mean it could be owrse.. still I think I should get someone to check this out especially as I read about Phantom smells being a possible side efect of brain tumors...
Have stopped upper body workouts without improvement in symptoms. Going to ditch the underwire bra for a few weeks and see what happens.
This Sleep Study result, on top of my current heart state with MVD, put me at great risk for a heart attack, stroke and mini-strokes-TIA (transient ischemic attacks) all in the absence of any CAD. This also explains why I'm so tired and with problematic chest pain even with the amount of nitro I wear each day. My heart was not getting any rest and was under a great deal of stress around the clock.
When my endocrinologist diagnosed subclinical hypothyroidism (TSH level of 4.11 and free T4 in the normal range), the symptoms I was complaining about the most energetically were symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Despite my fear that levothyroxine would make parts of my difficult situation even worse, the medication has eased the paradoxical symptoms at the same pace at which it is easing the more usual symptoms of hypothyroidism. The advice to be treated by an endo.
