Avatar m tn Hi, the lump may not be related to the stroke. The 'lump' could be a sebaceous cyst, a lipoma, mastoid bone infection or lymph nodes. They could also be herpes infections, cysts, yeast infections and infected hair follicles. If there is accompanying swelling, redness, discharge and fever it is most probably an infection. You may need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and initiate appropriate therapy. Regards.
Avatar f tn I also have a small amount of pressure behind my right eye and right side of the back of my head. When I lay down there is slight discomfort in my right ear but I lay on my left side. It hurts to use my right hand/arm because of the soreness. Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, she had other problems with her eyes, so she didnt have the best eyesight to begin with. Then, the stroke stole alot of the eyesight she had left. The doctor said it might return, but when she went to several eye specialists, they said it would not return after a stroke. You will just have to wait and see if it improves.

Avatar m tn Hi John, Saw my GP, got refered to specialist in TIA ,she gave me ultra sound test which was ok, ECG which was ok, came to the conclusion that it was a very small blood clot passing through one of the veins and causing a TIA or mini stroke. I am on asprin now for a couple of weeks and have to get the results of blood tests and re-visit my GP. Thanks once again for your advice and help. Not so worried now!
383943 tn?1217722721 My husband had all of those deficits after his stroke in July. How many has the doctor say you've had? How long ago?
Avatar n tn I'm not sure if this is connected but the other night I aswell had part of the left side of my body hurting from my neck to my head. But for me it just hurt to breath so I'm guessing it's somthing totalh different! Did you have any accedent or somhing that affected the left side of your body???
Avatar m tn No warning whatsoever. With my heart attacks or mini stroke. Especially with the mini stroke. I was watching TV one evening and all of a sudden the vision in my right eye went. In an instant I could only see the bottom of everything with my right eye.
Avatar f tn The first time it happened to me was after I got home from the hospital when I came out of the coma I went to the hospital and they said I had a major stroke since then I've had 5 minor strokes and that was in 2010 and now when I get over heated the left side of my face(eye nostril and mouth) twitches, I don't know why it's happening to you but next time you might ask your doctor you're probably having ministrokes
Avatar m tn Sorry to read of your loss and the loss of a buddy to your remaining dog - this is one of the issues that troubles me when we talk about getting our dog a "brother or sister". The one experience I have with a stroke, diagnosed as a spinal stroke, was there was remaining paralysis. In this case it was a 10 year old large Golden Retriever. We got him back on his feet (rear was the problem and is a weak spot anyway in Goldens) using water therapy.
Avatar m tn I sometimes get this strange sensation that starts on only one side of my head - left - and I can sense it on the left side of my body, also, all the way down to my groin/testicles. I find it hard to describe the sensation. It is almost like a head rush - or a chill or tingle - in my brain; and it is accompanied by memories that usually take a more linguistic form: I remember words being said or written, plus a little about the context.
Avatar f tn hi I'm in a bit of a state. this is saturday and on tuesday i was in bed with my lab top. i was feeling a bit strange when suddenly my hand and arm went nimb. at the same time mt boyfriend walked in and i felt wierd as i looked at him. i said my arm is numb and as i got out of bed my face also went numb. side of my nose and cheek and lip. i said to him clearly "god my face is numb" and then i panicked a bit and had to lire down.
905378 tn?1244854365 It could also be a TIA. Here's what Google shows in an early listing ... Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) A TIA is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but ... Unlike stroke, when a TIA is over, there's no injury to the brain I would mention it to the doctor. Carcinista could easily be correct also.
Avatar f tn in the sense of symptoms of a stroke and stroke warning as signs of a pathology that could lead eventually to a stroke. the only way that could indicate higher risk of stroke is that it was caused by a vascular problem, but you should have a bit more going on I guess. it also depends on your age. maybe it was caused by sudden sun exposure. why are you worried about having a stroke, do you have other symptoms? is there someone in your family who's had a stroke?
Avatar n tn At the ER, all they could do would be to take a CT of the brain to check for a bleeding stroke, which shows up immediately. An ischemic stroke (from a clot traveling from AFib heart to the brain, e.g.) wouldn't show up until a day or two later, as changes occur to the dead brain tissue. Still, if blood flow is restored by itself, and there is no permanent damage, then nothing would likely show up anyway.
Avatar f tn t hurt leaning on the same side (left) when I woke up an hour later I could only see out of my right eye. This lasted just seconds possible 5. The sight came back pixelated I believe after moving position and having my head straight. My arm had pins and needles but I was leant on it. After some anxiety my husband said it was nothing but cut off circulation so I got up and got myself a heat pack for my still very sore neck.
Avatar m tn Do others suggest TIA, stroke or Bell's palsy as the cause? Have there been any tests on which some of the doctors are basing their myasthenia gravis diagnosis on? From what I can see, myasthenia gravis is a problem with the immune system producing anti-bodies that attack one's own body, but with your father's history of stroke, I wonder if he couldn't have suffered a kind of mini-stroke?
Avatar f tn Often oxygen-rich blood cannot be supplied adequately to the brain, causing the symptoms of a mini stroke. In severe cases, increased pressure can cause the arteries in the brain to rupture and cause a hemorrhagic (bleed) stroke. All the best to your mom http://www.savingthebrain.
Avatar f tn Hi, this is my first post and I'm posting in desperation! I'm 38 years old and have for the past 19 years been diagnosed with multiple conditions (over 20) and multiple conflicting diagnosis. It seems that every few months I get more symptoms and a new diagnosis of a new condition, and the current suspicion is that I may optic neuritis and possibly MS.
Avatar f tn I had the same problem & found out I had some weird thing called bells palsy & they couldn't do anything for it.
2086874 tn?1332686494 A few months later though I had some flashes of light and lost the peripheral vision in that eye. (In the beginning it was just the vision in the top portion of my eye. I know it sounds weird, but different areas of the retina see different angles.) Did your vision return?
Avatar n tn My fiance was hit in the eye at work and went blind for about 6 months , now she can see , after that she had a very small stroke after test said there was very little bleeding in the brain that she would recover , well she is now paralyzed from the waist down and her left arm so my question is could all of this have been caused from trauma to her eye.... And if you could point me in the right direction to the right forum so I maybe can re-post this there...
