Avatar f tn they can give you something to help dry up your milk , I know along time ago they use to bind your breast (not recommended) home remedies include Cabbage leaves (cool) , Drink sage tea, Take vitamin B6. Avoid nipple stimulation, as this will trigger milk production. Other ideas: start wearing the tightest sports bra you can , When you shower, face away from the stream: hot water will induce milk supply.

12832976 tn?1503542112 You could try drink lots of sage tea, it is supposed to stop milk production. But if needed you should ask a doc, i think there are meds to stop production. Hot packs will make your breast softer and help milk flow out, cold packs are used to fight infection and slow down production.
Avatar f tn With my other two kids, I couldn't breastfeed and did cabbage leaves to stop the milk production. Within just a few days, it stopped. A lot of women's milk comes in before the baby arrives and actually, some women pump it and label it to use after baby is born if it's still ok by then. I've seen a few baby shows that had women who did it but it can bring on labor. Most of them were in the safe range when they started so the possibility of it starting labor was welcomed.
7365709 tn?1395398972 I noticed when I was shopping the other day that Earth Mama Angel Baby makes a tea to dry up your milk. I think it's called No More Milk.

Avatar f tn Ice, snug fitting bra, sage tea, ibuprofen and lots of fluids. I also read that cabbage leaves in your bra works, not sure why but you can google it. The dr can prescribe something too because it takes about a week for your body to do it on its own.
Avatar f tn Have you already had your baby? They say it takes about a week to dry it up but it's not a picnic. You can drink sage tea which inhibits milk production. You can put ice packs, frozen vegi's in a bag, cold cabbage leaves over breasts. Wear a snug bra, even to sleep in. Take ibuprofen. And there is a pill our doctor can prescribe to dry up the milk. I think there are some side effects associated with it so talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn I heard pineapple juice helps too. I would call your Dr. If you do not want to breast feed, they can give you a pill that will dry your milk up.
Avatar f tn I had my baby boy 5 days ago n i made the decision to bottle feed but my breast came in yesterday and my breasts really hurt. Is there anything i can do to dry up my breast milk? Ive tried cabbage leaves, ice packs n tylenol to relieve pain n swelling. Any other ideas?
Avatar f tn You could try this recipe...bag of green tea (you can substitute with twig tea if you are also trying to reduce caffeine intake), 1/4 cup of concord grape juice, a cinnamon stick, and 2-3 torn basil leaves. Using the cinnamon stick to stir your drink will infuse the drink with a little of that cinnamon flavor. Of course, if it doesn't sound good to you, you can try something else. Good luck!

315996 tn?1429054229 I hate to bring bad news but I have read that any kind of milk added to tea or coffee louses up the benefits. I can't remember the particulars . Jim posted something about milk wrecking the good in coffee a long time ago...something about the combo causing carcinogens. If I remember correctly, the milk added to tea binds the very thing that causes the benefit . I don't like milk in tea but I have added vanilla soy milk to coffee and it wasn't bad.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, chamomile does not contain caffeine, since it's a herb and actual tea leaves. So I'd say you can have as many cups as you want. Just check out labels and make sure there's no caffeine. If there is, up to 2 cups a day tops.
Avatar f tn I'm actually ok with milk in my tea,i just can't drink a large amount of milk.it's annoying because i like milk and its good for you too.
Avatar f tn You have to pump from what was said to get enough milk out to get relief. This will occur until your body realizes that it doesn't need as much of a supply. If you still want to use breast milk you can pump and store it in the freezer up to a year. The fridge up to 5 days.
