Avatar n tn Is it possible to eat dried red pepper and fresh tomatoes on this diet,as they are red in color?
Avatar m tn Low iron, vit a and raw foods are hard to digest except certain fruits. The Liver Foundation website has loads of diet tips. I think cooked eggs/omelets and pasta are great choices. Just really watch the salt! No processed foods and hard cheeses have higher salt content. I'm a PBJ gal, so that's been my comfort food. NO alcohol or soda! A bicarbonate Pepcid/anti acid combo prescription pill taken each night helps too! Drink water! For constipation, Marla's is the safest.
1026267 tn?1257591273 m not familiar with the low iodine diet, but I eat a non-inflammatory diet which recommends coconut milk. The only downside I know of is, coconut milk is packaged in cans, and most cans these days have been proven to contain/leach biosphenol-a. I have a recipe for coconut milk though, which is easier than almond milk.. (although I do make fresh almond milk every 2-3 days) 1 cup dried unsweetened coconut (Bobs Red Mill is one) 4 cups warm pure water Soak for 15 minutes.
Avatar n tn Hi! Congratulations on the birth of your baby! I have 4 children, all were breastfed, and one had milk allergy. She didn't have bloody stools when she came in contact with milk, but did get severe hives, even if she just touched milk. She didn't outgrow this until she was 2. I too had to stop drinking all dairy products. Lookout for milk hidden in certain products, like candy bars, and processed foods. You can check out the food allergy network for products that are milk free.

Avatar f tn I would add the herbs "Milk Thistle" and "Dandelion" to the diet, these can be purchased in either capsule form or liquid. I like the liquid (tincture) as it gets in the system faster and is easier to assimilate. These herbs are known for their ability to help strengthen the liver and combat hepatitis.

Avatar m tn Hey, stumbled across a website that offers an all-natural cure to hypothyroidism. http://www.nomorehypothyroid.com I was wondering if anyone has been to this website or has purchased this ebook? I am not a fan of Western medicine and the treatment options that have been offered by the Doctors I have seen - and so this ebook was very refreshing.
Avatar f tn t know where to actually start. I want to know how can I have a consistent low calorie diet and workout regimen?
492936 tn?1244651570 t know the whole diet, but I did read that whole milk makes big fat juicy eggs, so for the past 2 months I have been drinking a glass of whole milk every day. I forgot how delish really cold whole milk is. I'm lucky b/c we have a small organic dairy nearby and I go and pickup a half gallon of it served in the old fashioned glass bottles. As far as all the other stuff goes, I have read a few books and they're all pretty similar.. low fat, whole grains, veggies and fruit...
Avatar f tn pasta), fat free or low fat dairy products (skim milk, 1% milk, low fat cheese, low fat yogurts, low fat soy milk/yogurt), use plant oils, non trans-fat margarines, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal). Some people have claimed that avoiding dairy and gluten in their diet has helped them with their MS; however, there is no clear research evidence. It is a personal choice. Hoped this has helped you.

526889 tn?1212540641 For your age you need 1500 calories daily to safely lose weight. I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.

510230 tn?1211721183 Oh, how I feel your pain. I did the LID for two and a half weeks before my RAI. =) Turkey is fine to eat, from what I have read, but not deli turkey...it is processed and loaded with salt. You can have fresh turkey, but you cannot have mayonnaise, mustard, salad dressing, etc (salt). You also cannot have bread, unless you make it yourself at home. That was according to the thyca guidelines my doctor gave me. Thyca's website (thyca.

And, if you think dairy is everywhere, just wait 'til you start looking for hidden sources of soy. One of the reasons I simplified my shopping to avoiding packaged and processed foods was because I got sick of reading labels and finding that nearly everything had something in it I was avoiding.
Avatar f tn However, research continues in looking at connections between diet and cancer. The website www.breastcancer.org, has an excellent section with information specifically about nutrition and breast cancer. There is information about current research findings related to diet, a section on healthy eating and discussions specific to some of the questions you are asking. This is the link directly to the area of the website that discusses nutrition: www.breastcancer.org/tips/nutrition.
Avatar n tn I'm Not currently nursing but my first daughter had terrible colic. So bad the doctor told to stop breastfeeding because my diet had windled down to nothing since we were trying to figure how to relieve pain. Anyways my daughter absolutely wouldn't take a bottle even if it was my own milk. She didn't like whole milk either. My doctor also told me to just stop breast feeding cold turkey- and that my daughter would eat when she was hungry. Well...
Avatar f tn Just left the Gastroenterologist. My son has a milk and soy allergy. He's 5 wks old and I'm breastfeeding so now have to stick to a strict Dairy and soy free diet. Are there any websites out there that provide a list if do's and don't's?? And do you mommies who've had to do this yourselves have any pointers?? Thanks so much for reading. Any tips are appreciated!!
Avatar n tn So I have been making sure I get a fair amount of calories per day, and have been vegan for 4.5 years. My diet has been mostly oatmeal for breakfast and lunch during the weekends. For the week, its usually a "whole-grain" bagel for breakfast, oatmeal for lunch and dinner, and also some bananas prior to dinner. The oatmeal is the 5-minute quick oats, and not the instant oatmeal. Every night I have fortified soymilk and have been recently adding flax seeds to it.
