9842459 tn?1411688168 Yes they can have a dairy allergy, but that's not your milk, its from u drinking milk and having a lot of dairy. Like the lady said above. If you stop eating it they will be fine.
1900997 tn?1321659956 a couple of hours later, I get ferocious stomach pain and flatulence that smells of milk, quite often also diarrhoea. So I switched to lactose-free milk, but this has not brought about any improvement whatsoever. Skimmed milk is just as bad as full fat, so it can't be the fat content either.
Avatar m tn The baby may show reaction towards breast milk also if the mother is taking dairy products in her diet.Diagnosis of milk allergy can be confirmed after skin ***** or patch tests and food challenge tests.Confirmation can be done with blood tests like RAST.It also helps in differentiating milk allergy from lactose intolerance. You need to consult an allergy specialist for that. Treatment involoves elimination of all dairy products from the diet.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome. I'm a mom to children with severe food allergies .. somebody once told me that meat can contain caseine as a preservative ??? that is a derivative of caseine which is milk protein. Hope this helps. WELCOME!
Avatar f tn I've always been allergic (not lactose intolerance) to milk since I was born. Now at 5 weeks all I want to eat is milk and things made from milk. Does this mean my baby isn't allergic to milk? Or my allergy for milk going away since I'm pregnant? Or just being pregnant cravings? I don't want to drink milk thinking I'm not allergic and get sick. Help please?

Avatar f tn My 15 year old daughter was first diagnosed with lactose intolerance about two years ago. She has not eaten any dairy products at all since. We went back to the doctor this past August(we see a gastroenterologist) and told her that my daughter was not able to tolerate any milk at all. She never eats dairy unless it is by accident because she can most certainly tell if she has had milk. One time I bought Wonder bread and my daughter ate some.
Avatar n tn Yes, I've heard about that with dairy as well. He's an infant so maybe not into dairy yet??? But could be allergy related. There is something called an 'allergy shiner'. Blood vessels under the eye get enlarged and show up as you describe. Has your family members that also have this ever found out why??
Avatar n tn Hi ! Has your daughter tried rice or soy milk ? If not, those are two options that you may want to discuss with her physician. Also, I would highly recommend considering purchasing a homeopathic supplement for dairy allergies. It worked for my husband's allergy to dairy (he used to get welts !) and may work for your daughter. Of course you should also discuss this with your daughter's physician and if your daughter has a severe allergy to milk...
Avatar n tn He is told only to feed him rice and potatoe and rice milk by dietician plz help desperate mom.
Avatar f tn For a nine year old, this is complicated. Goat's milk is milk, and though it's easier on the human body than cow's milk, it's still milk, so the question is why milk is being discontinued. A lactose intolerant person might very well still be lactose intolerant to goat's milk, for example, but someone who has digestive problems with cow's milk might not with goat's milk. There's also a taste issue.
Avatar n tn Angel, my suggestion would to try to narrow down the problem. If you know she gets gas with dairy, the problem could be due to the milk sugar - lactose - or the milk protein - casein. If it's the milk sugar, you could just go lactose free. But if it's the protein, you'll have to go dairy-free completely - no dairy of any kind. Try going to Enterolab.com and read about the fecal antibody test for casein intolerance. You may want to do that test to find out.
Avatar f tn She does not have colic - can be soothed - but just keeps getting more and more formula. I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
561451 tn?1257476350 Better make sure it not milk allergy. My son has milk allergy he can't have milk or he can die. Well any dairy. But he gets rashes from it and has problems breath but I have read that another form of milk or diary allergy is vomitting and diarreha. Make sure there no blood in his diarreha if there is he might have a allergy.
Avatar n tn t know what geotrichum is, but I do know that many processed milk products have sulfites in them, including powdered milk, yogurt (which has powdered milk in it) and cheese. Then, of course, there is the fermenting process necessary for making things like cheese that gets into the various mold varieties that make cheese bad for people with migraine issues.
Avatar n tn Like wheat or gluten contains riboflavin which is found in milk also.So people allergic to milk may show allergy towards wheat also. This phenomena is called cross reactivity. Milk from other mammals (such as goats and sheep), and hydrolysed milk and soya formulas, are sometimes used as a substitute for babies who are at risk of developing cows’ milk allergy. However, the allergens in milk from goats and sheep are very similar to those in cows’ milk.
Avatar f tn This is my first pregnancy I was wondering do you have to drink milk while your pregnant I do not like milk???
6224500 tn?1388947668 Hello there, Just finished reading your post. You say you eat gluten/wheat/flour/ lactose containing food in the morning. What exact foods do you eat that contain these things ? You mention " eating gluten/lactose containing food and drink. What exactly is this and are you drinking milk, for example. It sounds to me like some food(s) you're eating in the morning are causing the bloating, gas and constipation.
Avatar f tn I was told by my GI dr I was Lactose Intolerant but when I would eat Lactose free it still made me sick. The lactaid pills did not work either. My ENT told me I had a Milk Allergy and avoid all dairy. Since then all nasal and GI issues have gone away. Also have funny feeling about 30 minutes after having dairy turn pale and hands go numb feel dizzy. I did not think IGG was a true allergy so do I have to give up everything. Confused.
Avatar f tn t go away and I have to take a lactose pill when I have milk. But soy milk and almond milk are both good. Different but good.
5069563 tn?1363270017 You don't have to drink milk when your pregnant, I know people who hate it and never drank it and they had perfectly healthy babies. They say to drink a lot of water it's way better then milk. I drank a lot of milk that's all I would drink and they told me that I should be dining water because the sugars in milk can somewhat dehydrate you if that's all you drink, same for sodas, so if your drinking water don't worry about drinking milk, you really don't have to.
