Avatar f tn I would recommend that you under go thorough allergy testing by a board certified allergist. Many people mistake intolerence of foods as an allergy, so the proper testing and diagnosis is essential. If true allergies are found, immunotherapy shots are the most effective treatment. Good luck and feel better.
Avatar f tn It is very easy to determine milk allergy. I assume its allergy to milk of dairy origin. Try to go off milk and milk products and see if the tightness in your chest disappears. Read all labels of any products you buy in the market—medicines, processed and canned food—anything, carefully to see if they have milk products in them. Now the good news! Every cloud has a silver lining. There are many alternate or non dairy sources of milk like soy milk, rice milk etc.
1900997 tn?1321659956 a couple of hours later, I get ferocious stomach pain and flatulence that smells of milk, quite often also diarrhoea. So I switched to lactose-free milk, but this has not brought about any improvement whatsoever. Skimmed milk is just as bad as full fat, so it can't be the fat content either.

Avatar f tn I've always been allergic (not lactose intolerance) to milk since I was born. Now at 5 weeks all I want to eat is milk and things made from milk. Does this mean my baby isn't allergic to milk? Or my allergy for milk going away since I'm pregnant? Or just being pregnant cravings? I don't want to drink milk thinking I'm not allergic and get sick. Help please?

Any tips are appreciated!!
Avatar f tn How can my mom live without milk and milk curd ? These are questions you should be asking your doctor. There are alternatives to milk. Some people are allergic to milk and they can't drink it.
Avatar n tn t know what geotrichum is, but I do know that many processed milk products have sulfites in them, including powdered milk, yogurt (which has powdered milk in it) and cheese. Then, of course, there is the fermenting process necessary for making things like cheese that gets into the various mold varieties that make cheese bad for people with migraine issues.
Avatar n tn Like wheat or gluten contains riboflavin which is found in milk also.So people allergic to milk may show allergy towards wheat also. This phenomena is called cross reactivity. Milk from other mammals (such as goats and sheep), and hydrolysed milk and soya formulas, are sometimes used as a substitute for babies who are at risk of developing cows’ milk allergy. 6224500 tn?1388947668 Hello there, Just finished reading your post. You say you eat gluten/wheat/flour/ lactose containing food in the morning. What exact foods do you eat that contain these things ? You mention " eating gluten/lactose containing food and drink. What exactly is this and are you drinking milk, for example. It sounds to me like some food(s) you're eating in the morning are causing the bloating, gas and constipation.
Avatar n tn Also, I would be a bit leery about diagnosing allergies through bloodwork in a young child. They are notoriously inaccurate. A skin ***** test would be better. You run the risk of false positives in a child who already should be on a very limited diet. True milk allergy is very rare, so it's likely that he is dealing with an intolerance. Even if the bloodwork is negative.
Avatar n tn If she got better on goat's milk, I would cut all cow's milk products out of her diet entirely. No cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, things made with milk, etc. If the spasms are out of her control, the doctors should be interested in helping you. If they are just behavioral, she'll probably outgrow the habit as she finds she can poo without having all that congestion.
5069563 tn?1363270017 You don't have to drink milk when your pregnant, I know people who hate it and never drank it and they had perfectly healthy babies. They say to drink a lot of water it's way better then milk. I drank a lot of milk that's all I would drink and they told me that I should be dining water because the sugars in milk can somewhat dehydrate you if that's all you drink, same for sodas, so if your drinking water don't worry about drinking milk, you really don't have to.
Avatar f tn u could have a allergy called lactose intolerance which basically means u cant break down the sugars from lactose which is mainly found in dairy products there are tests for this with your doctor{breath tests} and is very common.

Avatar f tn Continued that day then diarrhea for approx 4 to 5 days. Recently a GI diagnosed possible DELAYED MILK Allergy. He does keep a mild bumpy rash on upper arms. My concern is can this type of allergy really cause this type of cycle? I would think he would have more symptoms closer together. We began NO milk protein diet& scheduled MRI next month. Will MRI only show brain or can they see intestinal problems as well?
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to the forum. The fact that your daughter is only 3 months, makes it a rather delicate and challenging matter. I would not attempt anything that would even remotely suggest a possible side-effect. Holistic allergy elimination for babies, would be the only approach that I would recommend at this point. It is 100% non-invasive, safe, efficient and simple. You need to search for a Doctor or Practitioner in your area that is trained in N.A.E.T. (Dr.
964234 tn?1331949207 t have the rash at his last appointment. Doctor dismissed the thought of an allergy to milk because of this. Now that he has this rash I am starting to wonder? Any thoughts and experience would be appreciated. Also, the doctor was saying switching him to soy would probably make his gas and constipation worse? But, she said I can give it a try if I want. Another thought of hers is that he has an immature digestive system. I can use which ever formula I want, he will still be fussy.
