1900997 tn?1321659956 a couple of hours later, I get ferocious stomach pain and flatulence that smells of milk, quite often also diarrhoea. So I switched to lactose-free milk, but this has not brought about any improvement whatsoever. Skimmed milk is just as bad as full fat, so it can't be the fat content either.
6224500 tn?1388947668 I eat gluten/wheat/flour/lactose containing food in the morning and within 5-20 minutes I get bloating, gas and a sudden urge to go the toilet but am constipated (it comes out hard and in small bits). I have had 1 celiac screen which was negative as I had not restarted my gluten diet for very long But I am due another one in a week or so as I am back to eating a normal gluten diet, but are the doctors wasting their time with looking for celiac disease?
Avatar f tn There is a difference between lactose intolerance and a milk allergy. You might have a milk allergy. If milk bothers you, you should avoid it.
Avatar f tn If not and if you are able to consume milk during daytime without any problem, then you are not allergic to milk. Some people are not able to take milk at night as it causes gas and bloating and vomiting. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
964234 tn?1331949207 t have the rash at his last appointment. Doctor dismissed the thought of an allergy to milk because of this. Now that he has this rash I am starting to wonder? Any thoughts and experience would be appreciated. Also, the doctor was saying switching him to soy would probably make his gas and constipation worse? But, she said I can give it a try if I want. Another thought of hers is that he has an immature digestive system. I can use which ever formula I want, he will still be fussy.
Avatar f tn You could have an allergy to eggs/milk... try lactose-free milk and avoid eggs and see what happens. You haven't given enough information for anyone to guess (we are only guessing here) if you have serious symptoms. What is your resting heart rate, you blood pressure, how irregular - constant or just intermittent (say a missing or extra beat every few seconds)?
Avatar n tn Angel, my suggestion would to try to narrow down the problem. If you know she gets gas with dairy, the problem could be due to the milk sugar - lactose - or the milk protein - casein. If it's the milk sugar, you could just go lactose free. But if it's the protein, you'll have to go dairy-free completely - no dairy of any kind. Try going to Enterolab.com and read about the fecal antibody test for casein intolerance. You may want to do that test to find out.
Avatar f tn I had to switch to a sensitive formula. Little did we know she had a allergy to milk and all the gas and not pooping was being caused by that.
Avatar f tn She does not have colic - can be soothed - but just keeps getting more and more formula. I feel Gerd and milk allergy are grossly overdiagnosed in infants. Lactose overload has been diagnosed in breast-fed infants now - and I believe it is also found in babies.
Avatar f tn Try a probiotic and or a digestive enzyme, particularly a papaya enzyme. See if that will help.
Avatar n tn at school when given the choice of white milk and chocolate milk i always chose chocolate milk because it masked the bad aftertaste. i hated when my parents made me drink milk with meals. i never had digestive issues - bloating, gas, stomach aches, undigested food, etc - until about 6 or 7 months ago. i can't even have half a cup of 1% milk with cereal. i tried switching to soy milk and there were no problems stomach-wise. it's just hard to find a really tasty soy milk.

Since haveing to go dairy free as a family,(it's been almost a year) my 3 kids haven't had a single ear infection, sinus infection. They had a "cold" once this year, which unbeilivably for us, was just a few runny noses for a couple of days, and was gone. Avatar n tn Hi, I am a little sensitive to dairy products but do not have any major symptoms except for that I may have some minor stomach aches and go to the bathroom more often (but not diarrhea). My family doctor took a blood test for me and told me that I "have a milk allergy and should try to stay away from dairy products and if I do decide to eat dairy, I should take a Lactaid pill".

Avatar f tn The last 6 months have been off and on severe stomach aches that are more gas related as I do not have an urge to throw up just severe gas pains and stomach cramps and Kaopectate helped some. I have been to my internist and they have tested everything except my colon. All the tests of the stool, urine, ultrasound of gall bladder all came back negative - healthy liver, gall bladder, pancreas and kidneys.

Avatar f tn Eggs prepared in any way produce gas. Most people add milk to scrambled eggs. Does your husband add milk when he prepares the scrambled eggs? Also what do you drink with the scrambled eggs ? If the answer is coffee, coffee may bring other issues . Do you drink coffee? If you do, do you put cream or milk into it ? Have you ever had any issues with milk ? Maybe you have a lactose intolerance. Some people have trouble digesting eggs because of the gas they produce.

Treatment involoves elimination of all dairy products from the diet.
Avatar n tn Oxygen levels can be monitored by Pulse oximetry, End-tidal carbon dioxide measurement, Transcutaneous CO2 measurement or Arterial blood gas/venous blood gas. Treatment with bronchodilators with inhaled corticosteroids in the form of nebulization will help. I suggest you to consult pediatrician for further management. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hi, I would suggest you obtain a referral to an allergist or an ENT who does allergy testing. That is the only way to reliably know what is causing your allergic reaction. Some allergies can be life-threatening as they can precipitate anaphylactic shock in which the swelling can be so severe that it impairs the ability to breathe. Therefore, I would suggest you see someone as soon as possible. In the meantime, local measures like ice packs and antipruritic lotions are helpful.
Avatar f tn I've always been allergic (not lactose intolerance) to milk since I was born. Now at 5 weeks all I want to eat is milk and things made from milk. Does this mean my baby isn't allergic to milk? Or my allergy for milk going away since I'm pregnant? Or just being pregnant cravings? I don't want to drink milk thinking I'm not allergic and get sick. Help please?
