Common Questions and Answers about Milk allergy eating out

milk

Avatar f tn I've always been allergic (not lactose intolerance) to milk since I was born. Now at 5 weeks all I want to eat is milk and things made from milk. Does this mean my baby isn't allergic to milk? Or my allergy for milk going away since I'm pregnant? Or just being pregnant cravings? I don't want to drink milk thinking I'm not allergic and get sick. Help please?
6224500 tn?1388947668 Hello there, Just finished reading your post. You say you eat gluten/wheat/flour/ lactose containing food in the morning. What exact foods do you eat that contain these things ? You mention " eating gluten/lactose containing food and drink. What exactly is this and are you drinking milk, for example. It sounds to me like some food(s) you're eating in the morning are causing the bloating, gas and constipation.
Avatar f tn So just couple of minutes ago I opened a pack of Maryland double chocolate cookies and I didn't look at the 'eat by date'. I had two bites and then remembered to go check the 'eat by date' unfortunately it ended on the 14 of this month, it's been 6 days... I stopped eating straight way but I'm afraid that the half of a cookie that I had will harm me or the baby in some way :/ does any one know if it's ok?
782550 tn?1333484257 My mother told me that as a baby I would always get sick or refuse milk for the longest, but the she started me with sweet acidophiles, and i did ok with that. Milk products have always made me gassy, mucusy, with occasional runs to the bathroom. But since I've been in college, things have become increasingly worse with milk products.
2088782 tn?1333221786 Over the past three months it has gotten to the point where I get shooting pains through my ears and my eyes keep going blurry. My doctor just told me that I have an allergy to milk. Is it possible to have an allergy your entire life and not know it? Can it suddenly get so bad you can hardly function? Any chance it is just developing? Finally.. they told me my white count was 15.1 showing I had a bacterial infection of some kind but can not find anything.. could it be related to the allergy?
Avatar f tn It is very easy to determine milk allergy. I assume its allergy to milk of dairy origin. Try to go off milk and milk products and see if the tightness in your chest disappears. Read all labels of any products you buy in the market—medicines, processed and canned food—anything, carefully to see if they have milk products in them. Now the good news! Every cloud has a silver lining. There are many alternate or non dairy sources of milk like soy milk, rice milk etc.
Avatar f tn I was eating a salad yesterday, same salad I've been eating all week. dressing, chicken lettuce all the same. But yesterday when i started eating it my throat started hurting severly and swelling up and my jaw started hurting. My husband gave me a benedryl and it went away becuase he thought it might be a food allery. After about 20 minutes or so after taking the benedryl i was able to finish eating the salad with no problems. Does anyone know what may have caused this?
Avatar n tn Some people cannot have any dairy products at all yet some can tolerate cheese, yogurt but no milk (Some people can tolerate skim milk but not whole milk). Most people with lactose intolerance have loose bowels to diarrhea after eating dairy products and have mild to severe (depending on how much they eat) abdominal pains. Suggest having your son tested by an Allergist so you know if he has an allergy or just intolerance.
Avatar n tn I'm lactose intolerant and figured it out through an elimination diet, where I didn't have ANY milk or milk products for a while and then slowly started adding things in. But that was primarily to check to see if I had an allergy or if I was just lactose intolerant.
Avatar f tn There is typically no one-to-one relationship between eating something and having symptoms within a certain period of time that would indicate an allergy or intolerance. In many cases, symptoms will increase and decrease seemingly at random. If your system is messed up enough, you'll see constant symptoms, but if your GI tract is still able to put up 'a fight,' the same meal may not produce similar results on two different days.
Avatar f tn Over the last few years, I have noticed that I get migraine headaches and nausea quite often. This seems to happen when I regularly eat dairy products made from cow's milk. My doctor has not found any instance of tumors, so I am pretty sure that's not the problem. I have started eating more soy-based products, and it seems to help. I have not been diagnosed with any particular allergy just yet. Is it possible Is it possible to develop an adult onset allergy to cow's milk?
Avatar n tn To give some background - I have always had stomach problems. As a child I was frequently constipated and had regular stomach upsets. In college I would regularly feel very sick, and I had rashes near my elbows on my arms, and my eyes would constantly be swollen. I have also always had weight problems, and I am struggling to maintain a healthy weight right now. I am also constantly exhausted, but I have just learned to sleep 10 hours a night.
20801560 tn?1512718136 s purple face itch by eating eggplant. Someone has an allergy to egg started eating stomach pain, these are all food allergies. It is also wrong to think that if the allergy is eliminated from eggplant, shrimp or cow's meat only. Because the food allergy is different from human body different food. What is about your food allergy?
Avatar f tn unless I miss a hidden milk derived ingredient in the label, and then I have to go through everything in the cupboard to find out where the pesky milk-based ingredient came from! If you think, but are not sure, that you have an allergy or sensitivity to either or both, then cut out first one then the other. Dairy is probably easier to do without than gluten, so maybe start with that for a week or so an see how you feel before deciding whether to cut out gluten too.
Avatar f tn I have never really been a big fan of eggs, only an occasional piece of cake or biscotti here and there - I was more into cheese and never drank milk. I was only eating eggs in really small amounts. So, after one month of no eggs or dairy whatsoever (to be on the safe side) my sinus headaches began to go away. (Of course the doctor didn't think or advise me that it was directly related to my allergy).
Avatar m tn Hi I have noted that within 24 hours of eating Dairy I get rectal pain just prior to a BM with blood on the exterior of my stool. Pathology comes back clean an no Haemorrhoids. I have tracked this symptom for some time and can confirm that it happens with increased cheese or yoghurt intake I dont drink milk ads it results in sever diarrhoea and stomach pain. with the cheese and yoghurt My BMs feel often sharp on passing and the blood bright, some times it appears slightly clotted.
2065896 tn?1373685384 Thanks Eve, I had food allergy tests done last year but I am afraid I have not kept to the diet. I found it too hard as I am allergice to wheat, milk, & yeast as well as a few others and I got sick of eating corn. I love bread too much and the bread without those ingredients is horrible. I will speak to Dr. re different nose spray.
2113262 tn?1346101921 We were very aware of the strawberry allergy because I had cut up a few strawberries for her when she was 2 and she broke out immediatley, and she had throat/neck/tongue swelling. The milk and egg white allergies were a surprise, we only found out via the blood test. She continues to break out in hives (never anaphylaxis) after eating different foods (most recently asparagus). I just give her benadryl and the hives go away.
Avatar n tn My dad has been having problems with eating apples.. He says soon after he ingests an apple his breathing in his chest constricts and its hard to breathe..
Avatar f tn Having no previous food allergies and after eating chocolate daily for 48 years with no problems, I just had a similar anaphylactic shock incident after eating a handful of a newly-opened bag of Hershey's Semi-Sweet Milk Chocolate Chips. Rushed to the ER and spent 3 days in the hospital. I'll need to do some more experiments to determine if I've reached a lifetime chocolate intake limit or if it's specific to this new bag.
