Avatar n tn It sounds like the antihistamine may be drying your skin or possibly you have allergy skin. You may have a food allergy contributing to your allergies. You could try eliminating common offenders, such as milk, soy, wheat, citrus, etc.

Avatar f tn Buddy was bald in large areas, stinky, greasy skin and coat yet had massive , thick amounts of dry skin flakes at the same time. He had chewed and itched himself raw in some places. He was soooo miserable. I knew the minute I saw him that if it wasn't liver or thyroid issues causing the skin problem, that it was just a poor diet. He had been seized from a neglect/abuse situation. I'm happy to say that Buddy is in glorious full coat now.
Avatar n tn I am a young 61 year old and have developed severe reactions to all moisturisers and cosmetics, symptoms include tingling mouth and throat and breathing problems, or rhinitus, or tight throat, always sore eyes. My skin is very dry and sore because I can't moisturise it. I have spent thousands of pounds on products which never work, prescription moisturisers don't work either. Will my skin deteoriate if I never use anything or will it eventually start to moisturise itself.
Avatar n tn After drinking alcohol the eye rash becomes much worse and causes me great pain. I have had an allergy test and are only allergic to milk and nuts. However I have discarded these foods from my diet and still have the same problem. I just wondered if the blood circulation or blood vessels around my eyes could have an effect on my eyes.

1108752 tn?1289752114 Cash has very mild eczema. Nothing like what your poor little girl is going through. However - Aquaphor products are what works for him. My pedi recommended them. I also use Aveeno products as well. If he has a really irritated, dry and red patch I use over the counter cortizone cream (as my dr recommended) and it works within a day!! Also - don't bathe her every day. Only every other day.
Avatar m tn I have dry scaly patched on the palms of my hands (can peel the skin). They get so dry that my skin cracks open so I have huge cuts everywhere. Sometimes its itchy and sometimes they burn. I have no clue what it could be. I was first told it was eczema and then was told it was an allergy to cleaning products. I was told it was not eczema b/c it is only on the palms of my hands. I've been wearing gloves when cleaning and it still wont go away.

Avatar n tn A lot of people say they have sensitive skin or really dry skin... but honestly I've never seen/met anyone on a day-to-day basis who seems to have symptoms as bad as mine... I was born with eczema and allergies and it only seems to get worse with time. The skin on my face, particularly, goes through continuous boughts of really inflamed and allergy-ridden to really really really dry and back again.
Avatar n tn Usually allergens are small molecules which can penetrate the layers of the skin and sweating is known to enhance this action. Stinging insects, Aeroallergens (uncommon), Foods and additives like Milk, egg, peanuts, nuts, soy, and wheat are the most common agents to cause such reactions. Topical lotions such as calamine decreases pain and pruritus. Systemic antihistamines (antipruritics) such as hydroxyzine or cetirizine against prescription may be helpful.

Avatar m tn Your finger tips may be doing this from your PC keyboard, believe it or not. Or it may be something else. But many are developing allergy to plastics, and other synthetics like polyester, vinyl, and others. This causes skin issues, and is called Allergic contact dermatitis. People who have this also develope another skin condition like eczema as well.
