Milk allergy and vomiting

Common Questions and Answers about Milk allergy and vomiting

allergies

Avatar f tn If this is more than just a one type occurrence (if it happens almost every time she drinks the milk) - she could be allergic to milk. I had a milk allergy when I was a child and the vomiting and stomach pain were two of my main symptoms - I also had horrible headaches and leg pains. My allergy has gotten much better, however, I still find that I have trouble if I consume too much dairy at a time - headache, dizziness, upset stomach - so I have to be careful about how much I consume.
Avatar m tn Milk intolerance causes different symptoms and requires different treatment than does a true milk allergy. Common signs and symptoms of milk protein or lactose intolerance include digestive problems, such as bloating, gas or diarrhea, after consuming milk. ' You could read more about this at the following link - http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/milk-allergy/DS01008 See a doctor or allergist if you experience food allergy symptoms shortly after eating.
Avatar f tn To find out whether your child is having contact dermatitis to milk(eczema)or he is having milk allergy(rashes are present in the mild form of milk allergy),skin tests and food challenge tests have to be done by an allergist.Pls consult him for that. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Continued that day then diarrhea for approx 4 to 5 days. Recently a GI diagnosed possible DELAYED MILK Allergy. He does keep a mild bumpy rash on upper arms. My concern is can this type of allergy really cause this type of cycle? I would think he would have more symptoms closer together. We began NO milk protein diet& scheduled MRI next month. Will MRI only show brain or can they see intestinal problems as well?
Avatar n tn At first i thought maybe he was drinking too much and maybe too fast but even drinking half a cup slowly makes him have projectile vomiting spells. Then i thought well maybe it was a milk allergy cause that is what he always drinks when it happens but even after cutting out the milk he still has issues with anything he drinks even water. We can not find an explanation for this am i am worried. Especially because he drinks alot and urinates alot.
1176038 tn?1263687032 I think it could very well be a milk allergy - I had a milk allergy as a child and had the same symptoms, as well as vomiting and abdominal pain. i would contact her pediatrician again and ask him for advice on trying a milk-free diet to see if it helps her symptoms.
Avatar f tn Since I gave birth to my first child 4 1/2 months ago via c-section I have had epsiodes of vomiting and diarrhea.Several years ago I had the same problem but everything went aways once my gallbladder was removed. The episodes of vomiting and diarrhea last anywhere from hours to 2 days. I have recorded what I am eating to see if it is a food allergy but only thing i have found in the past week is butter makes me sick but not other dairy products.
Avatar f tn If not and if you are able to consume milk during daytime without any problem, then you are not allergic to milk. Some people are not able to take milk at night as it causes gas and bloating and vomiting. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn he vomits during the night then in the morning? I am also wondering if its an allergy to milk, does he drink a bottle of milk before he throws up?
Avatar f tn I had an over active let down which basically too much milk was released and my daughter took toouch in too quickly and it made her vomit.
Avatar n tn My son is 3½ and about a year ago, he started vomiting after drinking milk or eating something with large quantities or milk. We took him to the doctor thinking that he could be lactose intolerant, but all of the tests came back negative. The doctor did say that they weren't always conclusive but to slowly reintroduce normal milk into his diet. The first time he drank real milk he vomited and since then, he has been on lactose free milk.
Avatar f tn Hi,I'm 17 years old and during the past month every few days or week I'd feel nauseous and start vomiting and get diarrhea for a whole day and I wouldn't eat until the next day. And after a few days the same thing would happen. So can anyone tell me what's wrong? is it something serious??
Avatar n tn Keep a food diary and try to determine if there is a correlation between something that she has eaten and vomiting. It can take up to 12 hours or more for her to show symptoms. So something that she has eaten the day before could also be the culprit. If it does turn out to be the milk, she may have lactose intolerance or a dairy allergy. Dogs can develop food sensitivities or food allergies anytime in their lives to any food, even something like chicken, if they are allergy prone.
Avatar f tn t tell if we are dealing with behavioral issues or not, because he will go a month without vomiting and then go for 2 mos vomiting more than twice a day. When he is in a cycle of vomiting, he throws up sometimes more than 4 times a day. Worst times seem to be in the morning and at bedtime. So, he throws up in his bed quite a bit too. He has GERD. He has been tested for gastroenteritis, had done an upper GI, a CT and also endoscopy with normal results.
Avatar f tn One was herpingina which caused sores in mouth and excessive vomiting, the other was just a stomach bug that caused vomiting. These virus started one moth from each other. It has been about two months since the last virus and my son had went to bed throwing up. Nothing else again till the morning. There was lots of gagging but nothing until about 9 that morning. He threw up right after the milk bottles that he had. It was not much but still enough to be considered throw up and not spit up.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am a little sensitive to dairy products but do not have any major symptoms except for that I may have some minor stomach aches and go to the bathroom more often (but not diarrhea). My family doctor took a blood test for me and told me that I "have a milk allergy and should try to stay away from dairy products and if I do decide to eat dairy, I should take a Lactaid pill".
Avatar m tn at about 7pm, I went, ate rice, chicken, and some lettuce and went outside and felt ill. Almost threw up. Burped a few times and felt better. now I'm pretty much fine feeling. To back up a bit, I've been feeling tired and weak for about a week now. I've had a very low apetite so i've not been eating much. I've lost about 10lbs so far since i've been here. i got here and was at about 180. Stayed there for a few weeks, and now I've lost 10lbs total.
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son has been going to various Doctors for months for daily vomiting and headaches. He was diagnosed with Acid Reflux when he was 4 and we though this was related. Gastro issues have been ruled out; he was catscaned, scoped, biopsied, blood & stool samples all normal. He was tested for all digestive diseases such as: Celiac, H Pylori, Chrohn’s, Cancer. Not even a sign of Reflux. Nuero did an MRI and ruled out tumor. ENT ruled out sinusitis.
906115 tn?1344200509 t paying attention and ordered a milk shake from an italian restaurant. Well, they apparently use whole milk because as soon as it hit my stomach I was in their bathroom projectile vomiting. I can drink nutrish or skim milk and be okay, but I have a stomach ache for hours. Now that I'm in my third trimester I worry that my little girl will have this problem as well.
Avatar f tn He doesnt complain about his head during vomiting, but if you to talk to loud, and we tend to be a loud family, he says he feels like he has a headache.
Avatar f tn s right after his feeding and soemtimes its three hours after his feeding. Also everytime he coughs twice and then out it comes...
Avatar n tn (not cyclic vomit syndrom) This has started since when he was 20 months old. He vomits almost 2-3 times a week and his frequency of vomiting increases when he get cold, cough (as he develops phlum). The best weeks in last year averaged 1 vomit per week. These vomiting could be small or big,,forceful like a fountain or just normal baby puke - no specific pattern. It just depends on the quantity of food.
Avatar f tn Sorry this is way off of our normal subject, but I was just wondering the signs of lactose intolerance and whether or not you can get this as you get older. I am wondering because I have had abdominal pain for the past about 4 days. And I mean it really hurts. Also my back kind of where my kidneys are. I also get nausea a little and spent this morning vomiting. I went to the doctor and he said I was free of infection, and I am not pregnant so he does not know.
Avatar f tn Maybe milk. Maybe a food allergy.
Avatar f tn In the last year, five or six times after I have had only a couple of drinks, the entire next day I come day with what seems to be a terrible flu. I wake up vomiting with a terrible migraine and have dry heaves almost the entire day. I would think it was a typical hangover except it has happened after I have only had two drinks the entire night. Is it possible to develop an allergic reaction to alcohol this late in life?
Avatar m tn Treatment involoves elimination of all dairy products from the diet. Milk from other mammals (such as goats and sheep), and hydrolysed milk and soya formulas, are sometimes used as a substitute for babies who are at risk of developing cows’ milk allergy. However, the allergens in milk from goats and sheep are very similar to those in cows’ milk. This means that someone with a cows’ milk allergy might react to these other types of milk as well.
1900997 tn?1321659956 LOL Also, skim milk has a higher lactose content than whole milk. I only get the whole milk. Last week my hubby accidentally grabbed the skim and I ended up having to just throw it away because I couldn't tolerate even a little. You can give the Lactaid tablets or milk a try. I personally think all the milk alternatives are too sweet. I don't need the Lactaid because I can keep it under control as long as I only have it in my cereal.
Avatar n tn ( SEA SALT ) This combination of water and salt helps break down mucous and relax the airways. Water helps break down and thin the mucous of the airways. Salt (and only unrefined salt) contains minerals such as magnesium that are very relaxing to the smooth muscles of the airways. When you start wheezing the first thing to do is reach for the watersalt combination. if you ingest this combination early, It often overcomes the wheezing.
1834627 tn?1318209841 He had some oatmeal with raisins, coconut milk and sugar (we are vegetarian/vegan), and about 10 mins later, he started the same thing again. Nauseousness, and then he vomited once. Then fell asleep. During the day he eats the same things he has always been eating. Mainly tofu, breads, rice, beans, and other snacks. I try to give him lots of water. He prefers juice and is always thirsty, and asking for juice.
