m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. Hello, i have a unique condition of trigger finger as i get it frequently and it's alternating between my hands and feet. I had three surgeries already on the two hands middle fingers. I saw many doctors but they don't know the reason for it or what causes it. it's not only a tendon lock, but i get it also with swelling and a lot of pain that i sometimes pass out because of it.
i'm 35 yo and don't have diabetes.
I have a burning sensation on my left middle finger between the top two knuckles/joints. There is no swelling or redness and my arm is not experiencing any tendonitis, that I'm aware of. I don't have any other symptoms in my arm or hand. its not a constant thing, it comes and goes. Any suggestions? Should I see my physician?
about 3 days ago i noticed a slight tingle and redness in my right middle finger, and since then its got worse. the part around my nail has completely swollen and is really red. its sore to touch i can't put pressure on that part of my finger, i have also noticed little red dots around my hand and up that middle finger. it almost looks like a blister, the skin is stretched and shinny, but i literally have no idea what it could be.

Last friday my chest pain got so bad that someone was putting pressure in the middle of my chesk. I felt tightness that it was hard to breathe. I had sholder pain that went down my left arm along with numbness. I saw my doctor. She did an EKG and sent me to the ER to get further evaluated. ER sent me home 4 hours latter and told me my labs where normal. 3 days latter I got the same pains just worse. This time the left side of my face went numb.
Today i shook hand with one of my friend but his finger was swelling and also the white base on the swelling area I am not sure that it was herpetic whitlow or something else it was not on the tip of the finger but on the middle of the finger. immediately I washed my hands thoroughly but I am getting paranoid. Please help

Hi, I have swelling in my pinky finger for about 2 - 3 months. If i bump my pinky it is very sore by the middle joint even if I touch it.I went to an orthopedic hand specialist and he asked if I jammed my finger. I explained to him that I didn't jam my finger. He took x-rays and said it wasn't dislocated.He then came back into the room and said I probably jammed my pinky and just don't remember. I know I would remember jamming my finger as I have done that in the past.
I have a friend in Virginia who had the exact trouble in the knuckle of her middle finger. She did'nt cut it open, but she soaked it in warm salt water, advice she'd gotten from an elderly woman at her church. After she soaked it the pain became unbearable & she went to her Dr. His diagnosis was Gout. He performed outpatient surgery to remove the infection. She's fine now, but she had a rough time of it. She's 82 years old.
I dislocated my left ring finger at the middle joint just over a week ago. It was bent sideways over the middle of my pinky for about 3 hours. It depends on where the pain and numbness is. There is a cause of numbness of the index finger and middle finger called carpal tunnel syndrome. It usually also has sensory changes of the palm at the thumb, index and middle fingers, and the ring finger on the side near the middle finger. I am not sure if you have these other features or not, but I will elaborate on this.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a compression/entrapment syndrome of the median nerve at the wrist.
By night fall Ive realized that the pain is actually from just my dominant index (pointer) finger... and localized pain is just at the 2ND knuckle (big one in middle of finger ) It is so intense I thought it was all my fingers but its not. I have not injured it in any way but Its throbbing, burning and extremely painful.
