Avatar m tn m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with MS in August of this year and this finger pain was one of the earliest symptoms after I fainted in Feb (but had no idea that was anything serious) - I went to a rheumatologist for the finger pain and he couldn't find anything but did think I had carpal tunnel and the nerve test for that is what started me on the path to a MS diagnosis.
432737 tn?1358549432 I'm just over 34 weeks. For the last week or so, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and morning to really bad finger pain that lasts for aw hile! It's hard to bend my fingers and sometimes they make a popping feeling when I bend them. Middle three fingers on each hand are the worst. During the day, they're not "as" sore, but still a little. I can't seem to find anything about this in my baby books. My hands don't look swollen. Anyone else have this??
Avatar f tn I injured my middle finger in a Rugby game three months ago. I did go to a doctor to have it looked at and he x-rayed it and said it wasn't broken . He said it could be ligament and tendon damage and if the pain doesn't get any better, then I would need to go back to see him. It has been three months since the injury and the pain is still the same. It hurts when I hold my finger and move it side to side and up and down and also when pressure is applied.
Avatar m tn You may have severely bruised the bone, or fractured it by the force that went on the hand as you landed. An xray of the hand would be able to show whether you have caused damage to the bone. In the meantime strap the middle finger to the two either side to immobilise it. You can apply a lot of natural yogurt to that part and lightly bandage it. This helps by drawing out the inflammation. Keep your weight off that hand too until it is fully healed.
Avatar n tn i thought it was just a jam. now it still hurts but only if i stretch it or movie alot. it is my right middle finger and it hurts around the knuckle. it hurts alittle to the right and to the left of the knuckle when i push down on it also. but there is absolutely no swelling at all. and also no difference in color or size hen my other middle finger. i was wondering whats wrong with it, and if i should do anything about it.
Avatar m tn ok first things first. The knuckle above my right middle finger is swollen. This is due to me constantly hitting hard surfaces. i have no pain in that particular finger or knuckle or any part of the hand but i cant fully raise my right ring finger. It gets to about half way and i cannot raise it anymore unless i force it up with my other hand. Apart from that i have full use of my right hand and no pain in or around the knuckle or finger. Any ideas whats wrong??
Avatar n tn i have noticed a lump in the middle of my middle finger, its sore and moves from side to side, then a day or two later i noticed another a bit higher up, just as painful, can u help?
Avatar f tn Last year in July I hurt my ring finger on my right hand. It was due to catching a ball which struck the finger. I had pain throughout the finger, couldn't bend the joint closest to the finger nail. Xrays were taken at the ER and they suspected a crack on top of the joint that is located above the knuckle and also to the inside of this same joint (facing the middle finger). I did see my family doctor a week later and another xray was taken.
512560 tn?1222560127 I did notice the pain can go down the middle of the back of my leg [or I think, sometimes down one side], depending on how I sleep, or other times, it can be on either side of my bum. Zapain often helps. I take it if I have to go to work. I have used approximately 60 Zapain tablets in just under 4 weeks, only 2 of which were yesterday, the only ones this week. All week, I've had a painful pinkie finger and the finger next to it, I believe it feels rheumatic-like.
Avatar n tn If so, you may have some carpal tunnel symptoms going on, that typically presents with the thumb, index and middle finger symptoms. At any rate, it would probably be a great idea to go to your primary care physician and get evaluated for this problem. He/she will be able to some DTR's on that extremity to check for nerve related issues. Good luck to you!
Avatar n tn I was pulling open my cars jammed ashtray, it was stuck so I pulled harder and my 2 fingers....
Avatar n tn I am having some knuckle pain on my right hand on my middle finger, however i do not remember hurting my hand at all, there is no swelling and i can keep it in the straight position however when i bend it the pain comes. any suggestions?
478554 tn?1208034407 Around 6 months ago, my left middle finger’s middle and bottom joints around the knuckle areas, started to be painful, particularly in the morning. When I tried to bend my middle finger, I feel the joint movement not smooth, kind of snap and bounce like a toggle switch. I am unable to fold and curl my middle finger back to touch my palm, like trying to hold a fist. When I put my finger in hot water, the joint movement is smoother and less painful.
Avatar n tn After reading this forum, I probably know the answer to my own question, but I would like some clarification on a couple of things because for the past week I’ve been experiencing varying degrees of an aching, pressing, throbbing pain in my middle fingernail, the nail groove area on the sides, the tip of my finger and some burning achiness in areas on the upper half of the middle finger.
Avatar f tn I have severe pain on the joint of middle finger and slight swelling on the back of hand. Also neck, entire body pain mostly early morning.
Avatar n tn My index and middle finger have numbness and a surge of pain radiates from my fingers up my arm to shoulder blade and pectoris area on right side
1531375 tn?1294812585 Im having pain in the back of my neck down my left shoulder arms till my ring finger.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I am in the midst of one of my episodes where my symptoms show up for a few weeks. About 2 weeks ago, it was foot pain in the left foot, hen the right one. My knees & hips started feeling very stiff and "give out", also very painful when lying down & trying to sleep (trying to...can't really sleep well when I feel like this!). I also experience the cold/numb fingers & toes on a regular basis.
Avatar n tn specifically, the two finger joints of the pinky, the top joint of the ring finger, the central joint of the middle finger and sometimes the knuckle and central joint of the index finger. My thumb's central joint can be popped but causes no pain or tightness. Pressing my hand flat on a surface and forcing it to remain there causes tightness at the wrist and I can feel what can only be described as a 'spring effect' at the knuckles when I release.
Avatar f tn A little over a week ago I was playing catch with a friend and the ball hit my ring and little finger on my right hand. I had a lot of pain in my ring finger and headed to the ER. The doctor said there could be a crack in the joint above the knuckle and slightly towards the side. She splinted it and suggested follow up with the family doctor. I did see him, he took an xray and said yes it is cracked but suggested I use buddy tape and move the finger.
Avatar n tn ve met aot of people with left middle finger injuries.
Avatar m tn For the past 2 weeks I've had pain/soreness in my right middle finger (dominant hand), which occurs usually when bending or flexing. The problem began distinctly when I woke up one morning with this unusual pain. It doesn't hurt when the finger is at rest, and none of the other fingers hurt at all, it's only the middle finger. The finger itself is not swollen or any different in appearance to the middle finger on my left hand.
1475492 tn?1332884167 This is absolutely the silliest thing to me but I'm a bit uncomfortable and wondering if someone here might have an idea what this could be... I have no idea the cause but it's similar to a couple other issues I've had during "flares" in the past. A little history: My last Neuro treated my tremors. I was getting some pains that felt like a deep throbbing in my fore-arm and bicep.
