Avatar f tn I have been taking Atenolol 25 mg twice daily and Micardis 20 mg once daily. It's my fertile time. We had a mishap with a condom last night and I am concerned that I could become pregnant. Is the medication a concern, or should I contact my doctor?
Avatar m tn I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days. So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?
1689583 tn?1387752394 That drug does not appear to be a calcium channel blocker.
Avatar m tn Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect? Also should I continue to take my BP meds even on the days I'm sober and when my BP is normal?
Avatar m tn Hi, i wanna ask a question related to heart disease. My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar m tn Hope this helps, and if you have any followup questions, you are welcome to respond. Take care.
Avatar f tn I did speak to my doctor and my medication has been changed to one that is less strong I am taking Micardis 4mg. You are right my water intake could be better I am making it a priority to have a bottle of water with me all the time.
95361 tn?1219870284 I finally went to bed and when I woke up during the night they were still there, but gone in the morning. I have recently changed from Metformin 100 mg x 2, to Coreg 25 mf x 2, and I also take Adalat 60mg, Lisinopril 20 mg and Micardis 80mg. I take Metformin 850 x 3, Januvia 100mg (only for about the last two weeks) and just started on Avandia 4 mg for diabetes. My other meds are for thyroid, GERD, potassium, generalized dystonia (levodopa). Is this something I should be concerned about?
Avatar f tn My Dr. (nurse practitioner) gave me Citalopram 20-mg to take with the buspirone and advised me to break it in half for the first week and then start on the whole 20-mg second week.. I was wondering if the two combines would hurt me.. I also take Micardis 40-mg once in the morning and Propranolol 20-mg that I take in the evening.. I just want to make sure before i take the Citalopram.. And if you suggest I take it, what is a good time, morning, afternoon or evening? Thank you and God bless..
Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.
1351623 tn?1285916492 Hi...it is possible that ur hypertension is the cause of ur Ha's.....and the position u r in for ur job. Take to ur dr about the HA's and if ur meds need to be adjusted as well as ur chair at work. Having ur head bent down too long with the other issue u already have will play a part in this...try adjusting ur seat and ur drafting table to try diff angles to see if it helps.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with tachycardia 5 years ago but here recently I have been having chest pain when sitting and paps that last longer. One episode with paps was so bad that I had to struggle to catch my breath. Is this just part of it?
Avatar n tn d feel one from time to time but not many. Then, my doctor tried to add a diueretic along with my Micardis and the PVS came back to be noticable again. I've done the 3 week holter monitor test and I was diagnosed with harmless PVCs last summer. I have been asked if I'd like to try a beta blocker and I'm unsure. I am concerned about my heart rate going to low and the huge list of side effects I read about them. The palpitations drive me nuts and scare me to no end.

Avatar f tn I always get up slowly, and when I climb a ladder or take on some other risks, I walk around for a while before climbing.
Avatar m tn I understand that this is very important so my heart can take time to recover to the normal condition. The doctors say the myocarditis is serious, but definitely not one of the worst and they believe I will recover completely if I let the heart rest. They have also said no alcohol for 3 months. The physical activity part I fully understand because my heart needs rest but I dont understand why the alcohol is so important. Im not saying I want to be sloppy drunk, but anything would help.
6653958 tn?1395759593 s because your overweight but this isint the case with me,I feel like I was born with a small heart, im worried because no one has explained the reasoning of why some people have this,I would like a cardiologist or someone to answer because when I say I have to take my bp pill people often say your kindof young for that.
Avatar m tn Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include medication side effect, UGI inflammation, GI motility issues, heart related issues, neuro-muscular causes etc. Since cardiac and GI exams have been clear, I would suggest considering an evaluation by an internist to look into other possible causes. After a cause is identified it can be managed accordingly. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
Avatar n tn Your HCG levels should be high enough to show up in a home pregnancy test at this point.
10256164 tn?1408981241 You can take it 15 weeks before your due date
Avatar m tn I do get the same two days off every week. So, could anybody suggest a schedule of when to take the shot and pills so that the worst side effects will occur on my days off?
315094 tn?1201390050 My WBC wnet down to 1.4 and Neut .5 when I had to start neupogen 2 months ago. My first injection of 480mcg brought my anc up to 2.0 so I have been taking it every two wks now or when needed. I recently found out that it can or cannot cause cancer.....so not wanting to take it either. The way I see it is if I want to stay on tx I have to take it or reduce the peg and I dont' really like that idea either. What day do you take your INF and how far into tx are you? best wishes to you.....
