I am on metropol cardizem vasotec and micardis. Recently my electrophysiologist had me cut metropol in half as my heart rate was consistently running in low 40s. My bp immediately went up so he had me resume full dose and instead cut cardizem in half. That was about 4 days ago. It seemed to be working ok until last night.
At 8:30 p.m. bp was 108/67. I woke up around 2 a.m. with a headache on back right side of head plus shoulder pain. I have fibromyalgia so assumed it was from that. By 4 a.
m 43 and my pressure generally ran around 185 over 120 (range). My doctor put me on a medicine called Micardis HCT which is a combination medication with the common diuretic hydrochlorothiazide and the drug telmisartan.
This is the first time I have been on blood pressure medicine, and the drug has worked very well in terms of my blood pressure itself. I take my pressure at home with an electric blood pressure monitor and I now average about 130 over 72 to 75.
p was 230/124 its over 200 fo 3 days then i started using telmisartan 40mg nd meoprolol 25mg bt my bp ranged 150-160/104-115 fo 8 mnths in btwen i was evaluated for 2ndry causes of hyp no resns wer found doc said its essenstial hyp then doc incresd telmisartan to 80 mg my systolic came to 140 mm/hg bt diastolic still ranging 100-110 why is it so high nd how to regulate it ?
I am on these medicine for last 15 years except Telmisartan which i am taking for last one year and have reduced dose of Atenolol from 50 mg (BD) to 25 mg (OD)

I am 33 year male having hypertension from 3 years taking telmisartan 40 mg from last two years.Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85. I had urine albumin excretion test three times result shows between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine).The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine level comes between 0.8 to 1.0 and urea under 20.
I am hypertensive for the last 2-3 years and had a BP of 150/100. The doctor has now put me on Telmisartan 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg (it is one tablet per day) for 2 weeks. My BP has now reduced to 140/80. I was asked to take a 2D echo and a tread mill test yesterday and here are the findings :
1. 2-D Echo findings - Mild LVH. LVID-d : 3.92mm, LVID-s : 2.06 mm, LVPW-d : 1.22 mm, LVPW-s:1.64 mm, IVS-s : 1.11 mm, IVS-d : 1.27 mm, EF-70%.
Normal LV Systolic function (EF 70%).
I have been taking Atenolol 25 mg twice daily and Micardis 20 mg once daily. It's my fertile time. We had a mishap with a condom last night and I am concerned that I could become pregnant. Is the medication a concern, or should I contact my doctor?
I was prescribed twynsta for my pressure and I take one tablet at night .My pressure in the morning is around 135/80 but around 12 noon it went down to 100/51 this has happened a few times and I feel slightly dizzy at these times and also sleepy .once i have had a nap I am back to the previous reading. I have been taking Twynsta for over a year this erratic BP reading has happened only during the last few weeks and I feel tired much quicker than I used to . I lead a fairly active life.
I was taking 150 mg of toporal but i stopped taking it because it did not seem to help my heart stay above 90 and below 120..thats normal for me..the chest pain is new.
I have been taking benzo for past 31 years (started at 18 now 53 years) for sleep with brief period of being clean now I have nearly stopped benzo taking only quarter of I mg lorazepam but ontinuing with AD (i.e half of 25 mg tablet which consists of 20mg fluoxetineand 5mg olanzipine combo)

Hi, I was diagnosed with primary hypertension a year ago and since then have been on Lisinopril hctz and have recently changed to Micardis 20 mg. Now my BP is not normally high on a daily basis but it raises after drinking alcohol. Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect?

Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.
I was wondering if the two combines would hurt me.. I also take Micardis 40-mg once in the morning and Propranolol 20-mg that I take in the evening.. I just want to make sure before i take the Citalopram.. And if you suggest I take it, what is a good time, morning, afternoon or evening? Thank you and God bless..
I am taking Atenolol 25mg(OD),Ramipril 10mg(OD),Amlodipin 5mg(OD),ecospirin 75mg (OD),Telmisartan 40 mg(OD) for HIGH BP.
I am taking Metformin 500mg(BD), Glimpride 1mg (BD) for diabetes beside taking Ayurveda medicine.
I get -irregular heart beat every now and then which lasts for 24 hours.Doctor told me to take CARDANONE 100mg everyday but it gives so many side effects that i am not regular in taking it.
I ended up on a prescription of 40mg of Telmisartan and 2.5mg of Nebivolol daily, and a diuretic which was cancelled by my Doctor. The Telmisartan was pared back to 20mg some time later after my readings were getting too low. My BP is around the ideal 120/80 mark and my resting pulse is normally around 50 but sometimes gets as low as 45.
My BP stays around 170/100. Highest was recorded 176/110. I have been on Telmisartan 40mg for few weeks but it killed my sex drive entirely. I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.
I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Diastolic Dysfunction which they tell me was brought on by uncontrolled hypertension. I thought my hypertension was well controlled with Micardis (40 mg.) but apparently, on mild exertion, my blood pressure can go as high as 160/90. I go to physical therapy for lower back pain. This involves some mild cardiovascular exercise (walking in warm chest-high water.) I am wondering how safe it is for me to continue doing the mild exercise.
