Avatar f tn I have been taking Atenolol 25 mg twice daily and Micardis 20 mg once daily. It's my fertile time. We had a mishap with a condom last night and I am concerned that I could become pregnant. Is the medication a concern, or should I contact my doctor?

Avatar m tn There could be blocked arteries in your legs, called peripheral artery disease that may be causing your leg pain. “If you can walk through the pain and it gets better as you go, it’s rheumatoid arthritis,” says Michael R. Jaff, an osteopathic physician and medical director of the vascular diagnostic laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. “With PAD, the more you walk, the worse the pain gets,” he says.

Avatar f tn Recently due to some episodic spikes in my blood pressure I have been put on atenolol and my doctor would like me to add Micardis (thiazide diuretic and ARB) to this blocker. Now this is I guess common practice but this is exactly what the Professor in charge of the study has asked doctors not to do. Would you know anything about this? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I know many people have these symptoms, as a medical student I know that this most likely can be due to sinusitis, which results in a variety of symptoms including facial pain, tooth pain, headache, eye pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, vertigo, etc. due to sinus irritation, infection (bacterial, viral, or fungal). However, I have very mild, if not any pain. Sometimes knowing this much about disease causes me to turn into a hypochondriac.
Avatar m tn I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days. So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?
Avatar m tn Meds include, esomeprazole, metformin, norvas, celebrex, nortriptyline, gliciazide, hydrochlorothiazie, micardis, crestor, victoza injection, lyrica, fentanyl, morphine. He is in pain every hour of every day. Headaches spike at various times to 9/10. When this happens he is irritible. not able to concentrate, becomes very solemn or lashes out. Avatar m tn Hi, i wanna ask a question related to heart disease. My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was diagnosed with primary hypertension a year ago and since then have been on Lisinopril hctz and have recently changed to Micardis 20 mg. Now my BP is not normally high on a daily basis but it raises after drinking alcohol. Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect?
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Diastolic Dysfunction which they tell me was brought on by uncontrolled hypertension. I thought my hypertension was well controlled with Micardis (40 mg.) but apparently, on mild exertion, my blood pressure can go as high as 160/90. I go to physical therapy for lower back pain. This involves some mild cardiovascular exercise (walking in warm chest-high water.) I am wondering how safe it is for me to continue doing the mild exercise.
Avatar f tn I did speak to my doctor and my medication has been changed to one that is less strong I am taking Micardis 4mg. You are right my water intake could be better I am making it a priority to have a bottle of water with me all the time.
780647 tn?1304020942 if you have explainable chronic muscle pain you may want to talk to a Dr about fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn Since MS is a disease of the central nervous system, it does not directly cause muscle pain. MS can cause neuropathic pain, or it can cause spasticity that can cause muscle pain. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and while it may address the pain due to inflammation, it does nothing for the "cause" and like ALL NSAIDs, it may increase cardiac risks (like the COX-2 inhibitors.) All drugs have side effects.
Avatar f tn I got to tell you honestly - I suffered alot - Kitty here and I had a duscussion about magnesium and I started it for bloating. Not only has it relieved my bloating issues but the joint /muscle pain and anxiety is almost gone. I was not sure if the magnesuim was the reason - I did some quick research and it is the known to resolve these issues. It was almost immediate - with in 3 to 4 days but I no longer need any meds for anxiety right now and I feel I can move again.
Avatar f tn My husband has severe muscle pain on his arms and legs, like muscle spasms, it comes and goes for no reason, he is also always tired and has shortness of breath, he is 42 years old and maintains a healthy weight, what can this be?
Avatar n tn When people say that they get muscle pains as a sign of early HIV infection, is that like a sore leg muscle with twitches and bad back (not from exercise but similar to those feelings) or is it aches and pains like if you have a fever and the flu? I am feeling isolated pains in my legs and am afraid it is ARS related. I had possible exposure about 3.5 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn I have swelling of the upper arm. It is muscle pain and began after I was inactive for 7 months and then became active again. My upper arms were swollen on the outer side first and I could not sleep on my sides because it was too sore. I went to a rheumatologist and was told I had frozen shoulder and should go to physical therapy. I felt that the reason I could not move my one arm was because my arm was swollen and it would go against that area and was painful when I moved it.
Avatar f tn However, about 3 days ago I started having really bad muscle pain, burning, and aches in my legs. My muscles all over my body will twitch when I am trying to go to sleep. This is really the only w/d symptom I have but why did it just start? Or is this a side effect from the sub?
