Avatar f tn I have been taking Atenolol 25 mg twice daily and Micardis 20 mg once daily. It's my fertile time. We had a mishap with a condom last night and I am concerned that I could become pregnant. Is the medication a concern, or should I contact my doctor?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed twynsta for my pressure and I take one tablet at night .My pressure in the morning is around 135/80 but around 12 noon it went down to 100/51 this has happened a few times and I feel slightly dizzy at these times and also sleepy .once i have had a nap I am back to the previous reading. I have been taking Twynsta for over a year this erratic BP reading has happened only during the last few weeks and I feel tired much quicker than I used to . I lead a fairly active life.

1251922 tn?1269981784 I'm a small-sized 72-year old female. I have been on Micardis 20mg for 2 1/2 months. for the 1st 3-4 week it elevated my BP instead of lowering it. Fortunately, in the 5th week I saw the results (mean day reading:115/75). And the morning surges were gone! But in 2 weeks,i experienced a sudden spike of 148/89. It took a couple of days to return to normal. However, in another 2 weeks there was another spike. And another couple of days to return to normal. Please explain why this happened.

95361 tn?1219870284 I finally went to bed and when I woke up during the night they were still there, but gone in the morning. I have recently changed from Metformin 100 mg x 2, to Coreg 25 mf x 2, and I also take Adalat 60mg, Lisinopril 20 mg and Micardis 80mg. I take Metformin 850 x 3, Januvia 100mg (only for about the last two weeks) and just started on Avandia 4 mg for diabetes. My other meds are for thyroid, GERD, potassium, generalized dystonia (levodopa). Is this something I should be concerned about?
Avatar m tn I am currently on MiCardis and Atenolol. Have responded well to them for over two years. Last few days have experienced increased BP according to my monitor but I'll check three times in a row and the readings will differ significantly (Ex: yesterday, 151/110 then 146/109 and finally 137/93) This has been happening the past four days. So my questions are: Should I seek to change medications? Change dosages? Or could there be other causes that are temporary that might 'go away'?
Avatar m tn Hi, I was diagnosed with primary hypertension a year ago and since then have been on Lisinopril hctz and have recently changed to Micardis 20 mg. Now my BP is not normally high on a daily basis but it raises after drinking alcohol. Now my question is if my BP is high the next day after alcohol even with my meds does that mean my med is not working and I should change or is it normal for alcohol to raise BP and meds not to come into effect?
Avatar f tn Recently due to some episodic spikes in my blood pressure I have been put on atenolol and my doctor would like me to add Micardis (thiazide diuretic and ARB) to this blocker. Now this is I guess common practice but this is exactly what the Professor in charge of the study has asked doctors not to do. Would you know anything about this? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Do you have a fever? A rapid heart rate over 100 at rest is a medically significant symptom and could be an indication of serious cardiovascular condition. There could be blocked arteries in your legs, called peripheral artery disease that may be causing your leg pain. “If you can walk through the pain and it gets better as you go, it’s rheumatoid arthritis,” says Michael R.
Avatar f tn I still have them occasionally and have been taking Toprol, Micardis, Verapamil, Hydrochlorathyazide, Niacin, and.Omega 3. Nothings changed but I am still living!

Avatar f tn Its very informative and might make u think twice about the birthing process in the united states. When I tell people I want a natural birth and they question me I tell them to watch this movie. I agree anyone should research both sides of any situation but wjst I do agree with in the movie is the way my choice seems not to matter in a dr setting or being confused about what's going on because dr.s don't take the tome to explain what they're doing.
Avatar m tn It can lower your blood pressure and may increase some of the side effects of Micardis. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes while you are taking Micardis, unless your doctor has told you to. You are very young and have the rest of your life to enjoy a drink with friends. Getting drunk is not good for your heart or indeed for the rest of your body. This is an important decision you need to make right now. Look after your body for now or suffer more serious consequences.
404682 tn?1324579818 ER sent me home told me to take a norvasc when I got home then to start taking it in the AM. Next morning I felt awful so my GP told me stop norvasc and started me on clonidine.1mg but take only if bp is above 140. I was fine all week and then today mid morning another spike... 170/100 I waited about half an hour for it to come down on it's own and then took half a clonidine.
Avatar f tn She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
Avatar m tn Hi, i wanna ask a question related to heart disease. My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.
Avatar f tn Lol I would do the same .
