Micardis and heart rate

Common Questions and Answers about Micardis and heart rate

micardis

Avatar f tn I was given Carvedilol, Micardis, and Spironocatone what my cardiologist is attempting to do is to slow my heart rate down but meds for slowing down my heart rate also lowers my already low normal blood pressure and then dizziness occurs. My PCP, my OB/GYN and my Opthalmologist are all alarmed but my cardiologist is not, so I guess I have to look for another cardiologist. Thanks for you help.
Avatar f tn It works differently and does not lower the heart rate. I think both of these drugs are good in my case and maybe in yours.
Avatar n tn I am concerned about my heart rate going to low and the huge list of side effects I read about them. The palpitations drive me nuts and scare me to no end. They can tell me I'm fine, and it's hard to take I'll just learn to "live with these". Also, they explained that dehydration and hormonal changes can make PVCs more often/stronger. Is this true? Any related information that can help me make an informed decision with my doctor would be very helpful. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Do you have a fever? A rapid heart rate over 100 at rest is a medically significant symptom and could be an indication of serious cardiovascular condition. There could be blocked arteries in your legs, called peripheral artery disease that may be causing your leg pain. “If you can walk through the pain and it gets better as you go, it’s rheumatoid arthritis,” says Michael R.
Avatar m tn It can lower your blood pressure and may increase some of the side effects of Micardis. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes while you are taking Micardis, unless your doctor has told you to. You are very young and have the rest of your life to enjoy a drink with friends. Getting drunk is not good for your heart or indeed for the rest of your body. This is an important decision you need to make right now. Look after your body for now or suffer more serious consequences.
Avatar f tn I was taking 150 mg of toporal but i stopped taking it because it did not seem to help my heart stay above 90 and below 120..thats normal for me..the chest pain is new.
Avatar f tn You take metoprolol, diltiazem, enalapril and telmisartan. The first two agents address primarily heart rate (HR) but are not great blood pressure (BP) drugs. Speaking of HR, what is the reason that you see an electrophysiologist? Atrial fibrillation? and are you feeling poorly when your heart rate is 40s?
Avatar m tn My father (54 yo) has been diagnosed before with heart enlargement in around 2015. His blood pressure, cholesterol level and uric acid level were quite high at that time ( i don't know exactly how high was it). Then he came to see the doctor and the doctor gave him medications (one of it called 'micardis'). After since, my father blood pressure and cholesterol level turned normal but the uric acid is still a bit higher than normal.
Avatar m tn for the past 2 weeks,i have been going to walmart walgreens and rite aid and have been sitting down for 5 minutes and then putting my arm in the cuff and measuring my vital signs. my systolic blood pressure was always 160-180 and i never had a reading lower than 160. my diastolic was anywhere from 99-105. my heart rate was from 110-128 all the time. i have had many lab tests and everything is fine..metabolic panel and thyroid and i had a cardiac workup which was fine too.
Avatar f tn It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. Micardis is pregnancy category C (during first trimester) and D (during 2nd and 3rd trimester) and it enters breast milk. It should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor tells you to do so. I recommend you talk to your doctor about your situation before making any changes.
Avatar m tn I had Chinese food on Saturday and later that night I awoke to find my heart beat racing, could it be MSG or something else,Prior to the food I had 1.5 glasses of red wine and I went red in the face?is this normal .
280692 tn?1277105942 I had an enlarged heart 7 years ago due to high blood pressure, and becuase the heart was pumping against high resistance the over worked heart dilated to compensate. Medication lowered blood pressure, the heart responded with a reduced workload favorably and returned to normal size. Your echo test will provide useful information regarding heart chamber size and the heart's ability to adequately pump blood into circulation to meet the oxygenated blood demand.
404682 tn?1324579818 The one with the fewest side effects would be an ARB that works by keeping your arteries pliable so they can help absorb each heart beat and lower your BP and the stress on your heart. The bad part about ARBs is that they are expensive and not covered by all insurance plans without first trying all other possibilities.
Avatar f tn From other research on the net, I think what im reading is tellin me my heart is in the first stages of failing and the left side of my heart is enlarged , with these problem, my heart is not keeping up with the other side causeing pulmonary edema, that explaining my cough and shortness of breath and chest pain ,Im not a Dr.
Avatar f tn She is already taking 2 blood pressure medications to control blood pressure, micardis and nifedipine xl. Do you think her increased bp is due to her coming off of plavix? She does have a pace maker and stints.
95361 tn?1219870284 I have recently changed from Metformin 100 mg x 2, to Coreg 25 mf x 2, and I also take Adalat 60mg, Lisinopril 20 mg and Micardis 80mg. I take Metformin 850 x 3, Januvia 100mg (only for about the last two weeks) and just started on Avandia 4 mg for diabetes. My other meds are for thyroid, GERD, potassium, generalized dystonia (levodopa). Is this something I should be concerned about? I see my doctor in a week and a half, but do I need to contact her before then if this happens again?
Avatar n tn Your BP has dropped considerably, but at 130 systolic you are still in the pre-hypertensive range and not yet down to a normal rate of 120/80 so I would not think your BP is doing this to you. Also, if you are using an eectronic monitor, make sure to take it with you to you next doctor appointment to have it checked for accuracy. Some models are prone to understate BP.
Avatar m tn I think you already gave yourself your own answer........no food, caffeine, stress and a dentist appt.? Ouch!!! Keep an eye on it and my heart doc always says if you can feel your heart listen to it and if you need to make the call. Atypically we shouldn't ever feel our hearts unless we stress them thru exercise or the post you made above....you sound like a normal human to me and a lucky lucky person but......
Avatar f tn When I first became sick, I suffered from severe tremors that made me look like I was having seizures. My heart rate would go as high as 230 beats a minute and my blood pressure would get high as high as 198/168 with movement. I was very nauseated all the time, couldn't sleep, had headaches, and basically couldn't function. After many trips to the ER, and being sent all over the country, I finally ended up at Dr. Blair Grubb's clinic in Toledo, Ohio. He gave me back my life.
Avatar f tn I have told my electrophysilogist and cardiologist and they just say okay and move on. So am assuming its nothing but just wonder what it is or if others have it. It unnerves me.
Avatar f tn and after evaluating my blood work - which actually came out fine except for a borderline cholesterol 200 and checking me and my BP (which is still high 160/100) he told me that due to having Hypertension since a long time ago - more than 15 years now , i have a somehow a big heart and being so uncontrolled is the main cause of the tachycardia and i cant exactly remember if he said its atrial or venticular tachycardia and he gave me logimax and cordarone 2 pills each everyday , he didnt tell
Avatar f tn I still feel nervous and my heart rate gets high and I take beta blockers twice or three times a day. I have not taken my 112 mcg of synthroid since last Saturday.
Avatar n tn The next work out was very light cardio and strenght training. My heart rate went up to 190 and stayed weel above my target heart rate the entire workout. Even when I was on the floor it stayed elevated! THe ekg and heart monitor showed nothing out of the ordinary. I really like to work out but it makes me feel terrible while I am trying to do it. What could be the problem? Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn t feel dizzy and the heart rate increases properly with exercise, it can be a sign that your heart just pumps extremely efficient. However, your resting heart rate is lower than most top athletes, and you should get it checked. Go to a doctor and get an EKG done.
