Looks like you have consulted the Vet to rule out out sod obvious issues. Way food are you feeding and how fatten? Are you giving any tray rests or supplements? My kids dogs, and a few others. Haven own had sillier issues. I suggested they're the dogs on Pro Plan Salmon for sensitive stomachs. Hey switch probably over two years ago now and the dogs have much improved and are healthy.

Anyway I can’t use metronidazole now. If I take it, it either does nothing or worsen my PATM. I’ve used it for so many years that probably all bacteria in my gut are immune to it.

I am convinced the food has worsened the condition of his stool but i am also bias as I only give my dogs USA “human grade” premium foods, I also used to cook my previous dogs food (of course mixing it with a number of plant based supplements). Has anyone ever used oral metronidazole for a vaginal bacterial infection? I'm on my 5th of 7th day and have developed a very thick clear to cloudy mucousy discharge. Is this normal. I know the gel form will pull everything out in a thick white chunky discharge but does the oral pill.

I have a 2 year old teacup Schnauzer & recently changed her diet to a raw diet. We used Stella & Chewy's raw food. My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage. Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?

I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV? Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!

Also ask you vet about sulfasalazine which is used as an anti inflammatory for the intestinal tract sometimes it can calm things down enough for the dog to get regular again bearing in mind that you have found the right food for him, easier said than done I know. Also sometimes my dog stays on the pill longterm which isn't harmful and sometimes they can be weaned off for a while. Another consideration is a low dose steroid to calm down the GI tract.

He is on Denamarin ¼ tablet for small to mediun dogs, 1 Prednisone tablet 5mg in the morning, ½ 250mg Metronidazole pill in the morning, and ¼ Prilosec in the morning! At night he only gets ¼ Prilosec! He has been holding his own for about a year now. Yesterday he started the head tilt and really stiff walking. He pants and drinks lots of water. He was diagnosed with high liver enzymes. He does also have some mouth/teeth problems but can’t go under the anesthesia to get a dental!

well i been diagnosed with trichomonas vaginalis and the doctor gave me 2 grams of metronidazole as a single dose and a vaginal cream called clotrimazole (3 days). but since i used the metronidazole i had dark urine, i had and upset stomach i couldn't eat or drink anything because i will throw up. it's been 2 day and i don't have the upset stomach but i still have the dark urine how long is it gonna take before the dark uring goes away?

I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
