I'm taking antibiotics, including Metronidazole 500mg for h.pylori. I was at my sister's wedding last night and took 2 glasses of bubbly to toast with the guests, and then switched to water all night (being under the impression that antibiotics just worsen the impact of the alcohol so this is why you shouldn't drink). About 6-7 hours later I started feeling really unwell (nausea, frequent washroom trips, flushed skin)..

I gave up alcohol and got put back on another antidepressant (mirtazapine). This worked but had pretty bad side effects. I soon started to notice the return of gastritis symptoms. Over 2008 I experiemented with serveral antidepressants which all gave me horrible side effects, I ended up on a low dose of a tricyclic, dosulepin. My gastritis remained for most of the year, and i attempted drinking every 3 months or so untill it started to hurt again.
I too am on 175 - 200mg of Zoloft and I admit when first starting the medication I was feeling quite dizzy and nauseated. Dosage started at 50mg, then after a week increased, and every week increased until I reached 175mg. In the past my doctor has had me on Celexa and Effexor but Zoloft seems to work the best, for me that is. Everyone is different. I waver between 175 - 200mg depending on the kind of day I'm having.
s much less stressful on your system with fewer systemic side effects to use it that way. Taking it orally is much stronger, but has a lot of side effects, and this way it goes directly where your problem is. Make sure you use it as long as recommended, and don't be surprised if it comes back, as this treatment often doesn't get all the eggs. Good luck with it.
I had told them what i've been feeling and said it it could be anxiety and that I had protected sex. They did take a urine and blood test on me. Not sure why they give me the antibiotics maybe as a precaution but seeing what the sides effects they have scares me, I regret what I have done if I didn't go through with it I would be fine with myself right now.
Upon return diarrhea has been chronic along with acid reflux, nausea, stomach cramps, weightloss of 7 lbs and loss of appetite with fatigue. Dr put me on metronidazole but could only take 3 pills . Had to stop due to severe side effects. Diarrhea is yellow and I am on a brat diet for 3 days now. No improvement.any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
My friend just quit taking Chantix due to the inability to handle the side effects. She has noticed that since quitting the Chantix alcohol has effected her differently. While on the Chantix she noticed the effects of alcohol tokk in quite quickly where now she seems to have a tolerance that was not there before. Is it possible that theh Chantix caused her intolerabilty to alcohol?

It says that there is an alternative pill called azithromycin with less side effects. I talked to my OB about that and she said that she hasn't prescribed that to anyone who has trich. She said i can take it and come and get re tested but she thinks it wouldn't work. So she prescribed me metronidazole 1 dose of 2 grams. Sounds like a really big dose. Has anyone out there that has taken it and didn't get sick or everybody does? I know every people are different.
