Upon return diarrhea has been chronic along with acid reflux, nausea, stomach cramps, weightloss of 7 lbs and loss of appetite with fatigue. Dr put me on metronidazole but could only take 3 pills . Had to stop due to severe side effects. Diarrhea is yellow and I am on a brat diet for 3 days now. No improvement.any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My mother just had her 1st shot of Lucentis. She has a small leak. She is also on Glaucoma eye drops. She is experiencing extreme fatigue and she said her thoughts/memory seem fuzzy. Taking it orally is much stronger, but has a lot of side effects, and this way it goes directly where your problem is. Make sure you use it as long as recommended, and don't be surprised if it comes back, as this treatment often doesn't get all the eggs. Good luck with it.

I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. I just had a thought this evening that most of the problems I have had have occured after taking Flagyl (Metronidazole). I am showing symptoms that are confusing my Drs and have been for about 4 years. When I look back on when I began feeling poorly it seemed to happen after taking Flagyl. Because I never got a rash or anything whilst on it I didn't think I was allergic but the side effects and after effects I've had seem to be quite bad.

m really cautious and worried about taking it because i searched and this pill has a lot of bad side effects, like making you really sick. It says that there is an alternative pill called azithromycin with less side effects. I talked to my OB about that and she said that she hasn't prescribed that to anyone who has trich. She said i can take it and come and get re tested but she thinks it wouldn't work. So she prescribed me metronidazole 1 dose of 2 grams. Sounds like a really big dose.
