Avatar m tn Because of a complicated dental issue, I've been on multiple antibiotics in the last few months (long story): 1. May 10: Penicillin VK 500mg tab (6 days) and Metronidazole 250mg tab (7 days) 4x per day for both 2. Jun 6: Amoxicillin 500mg; 4 tablets immediately then 1 pill 3x per day (2 weeks) 3. Jun 21: Augmentin 875mg + 125mg additives, 2x per day (3 weeks) 4. Sep 16: Clindamycin 300 mg, 3x per day (16 days) I am concerned by the number and duration of these antibiotics courses.
Avatar f tn Its for genital infections. A doctor prescribe it to me because i was having heavy discharge. Am hesitant to take it bacause he did not check what am really having.
Avatar f tn i already googled it but my doctor prescribed it to stop my uterine wall from contracting cuz i was showing signs of preterm labor???
5789562 tn?1374459029 So I had a wisdom tooth extraction(32) that was complicated. The tooth had to be broken in order to remove and the nurse had to hold my jaw in place while the dentist struggled to extract the tooth. Its been 5 days already and the swelling, bruising and pain are excruciating. I just finished taking all the antibiotics the dentist prescribed and I still can't eat anything solid. How long should I give it before seeking medical help for the continuing swelling and pain?
Avatar f tn i knew it was for infections but he didn't test me for any
808815 tn?1254301881 There is NHS dental treatment and private dental treatment. The problem with waiting list tends to be in getting an NHS dentist – they are as rare as hens’ teeth (no pun intended) Treatment on NHS costs probably half as much as privately, for instance a small filling that would be about £40 NHS is nearer to £80 privately. – I could be way out with these prices as it varies from dentist to dentist, town to town. I imagine NHS treatment is price regulated though.
Avatar f tn He did remove it, and I now am in alot of pain in the extraction site and looking in with a mirror and torch (its on the top row not the fang or the one next to it but the one after that) there is a black splodge in the hole but the hole keeps filling up with pus, although it isnt leaking in to my mouth i am waking up with a bad taste.
Avatar m tn Hi kevdood83. I took metronidazole and amoxicillin for a nasal infection in mid 2011 and started to develop a white coated tongue. I did some research and came across Grapefruit seed extract. GSE is an anti-virus/bacteria/fungi agent. Put a couple drops in some water or juice and gargle. Start with only a couple drops and work your way up to 4 drops. If you use too many drops it will burn your mouth - you don't want that.
Avatar f tn I agree that Vancomycin is an option instead of the metronidazole. Although Vancomycin also has it side effects. It is the next drug in line if you want to continue the drug route. It won't cause peripheral neuropathy. It is something to discuss. Yes a "friendly" yeast is a good addition to the probiotics. Since you are being treated right now with Nystatin. It may kill of the yeast for now but after the Nystatin is finished it will be a good addition. Some things to think about.
Avatar m tn Hi arch3r. If that's the only issue you have at the age of 115- hey,you supplied this info-you're doing pretty good, lol! In all seriousness, an unresolved tooth infection, could be one of the main contributors to chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis or other conditions.
Avatar f tn vaginalis is the predominant species. Similar to what happens in many other biofilm-related infections, standard antibiotics, like metronidazole, are unable to fully eradicate the vaginal biofilm, which can explain the high recurrence rates of BV. Furthermore, antibiotic therapy can also cause a negative impact on the healthy vaginal microflora. These issues sparked the interest in developing alternative therapeutic strategies.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed me metronidazole because of my yeast infection but I'm really "iffy" about taking it because I don't want to harm my baby. Have any of u guys taken metronidazole while pregnant ?
Avatar m tn The dose for a large lab would be 500 to 750mg twice per day tor 7 days (Do not overdose). If you have not given the correct dose or metronidazole than another course of metronidazole may help. There could be gastrointestinal parasites not covered by the metronidazole, of course, and it would be best to have your dog's stool checked.
Avatar f tn If amoxicillin is not effective, switching to clindamycin+metronidazole may help clear dental infection.
1245078 tn?1268578722 Are you on the pill? I used to have chronic yeast infections for years in my early twenties. Like you, I followed my doctor's advice and was very careful but nothing helped until I stopped taking the pill (it has something to do with the artificial estrogen). So if that could be the reason, you might want to talk to your doctor about alternative methods of contraception.
Avatar f tn I started taking metronidazole yesterday I took 2 pills that day... today I realized I haven't had my period this month. So I decide to take a pregnancytest before I start my second day on metronidazole. I took the test a 3pm and both test were positive. so I stopped the pills.I was wondering if the medication made my test positive or am I really pregnant.take another prego test? & when?
Avatar m tn Hi, I have several dental spacers that are lodged in my gum from a previous dental procedure. They are lodged pretty deep but not at the apex of my gums. I believe there are about 2 but possibly there could be as many as 3 in there. I am planning on getting them removed soon due to recurrent infections and I was wondering if it is more cost effective to get a dental insurance plan or pay out of pocket. What are the typical cost to remove something like this? Will there be surgery required?
Avatar f tn I have had yeast and bv infections my whole pregnancy. I just finished up another batch of metronidazole this week. Antibiotics can cause yeast infections in some women as well so have your doc prescribe flucanazole (spell check) to take after the metronidazole. It will most likely be a 7 day treatment. Mine got so bad this third trimester my va jay jay was swollen for a week. I am due with twins on Monday by c section.
Avatar f tn Two repair attempts failed and she has had ongoing infections in that foot for the last 9 months. She is generally very fit and healthy and was a keen athlete. The only childhood illness that she's had is Chickenpox. To date blood tests have not identified any underlaying causes of the infection. This may not be enough information, but I wondered whether anyone has come across anything like this before? Could she have an immune system deficiency and if so what ?If so please contact me.
Avatar f tn Went in for my normal check up and doc told me I have a bacterial Infection, She Prescribed me "Metronidazole". I was reading up on it and it says not to be used during pregnancy! Kind of worries me, any of u ladies ever had this stuff prescribed to u?
72351 tn?1281992542 I would like to know what would be the best drug to treat oral infections in possible fiv possitive cats. I have tried Metronidazole without success, mostly because it is virtually impossible to give them tablets due to their mouths being so sore. I tried crushing the tablets and diluting with water to give orally but that is an even worse option lol! I heard it comes in liquid forms but my vet has not been able to locate it to purchase for me.
Avatar n tn Gastroenteritis can be produced from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Hope it helps.
