The metronidazole is what is making you sick, but it helps to take it with food and a full glass of water. I hope they at least told you not to drink alcohol with it - it can make you very sick. Does your college have student health services? You can go there, or to a Planned Parenthood or std clinic. You don't have to go all the way home. Being on your period is fine, but you might want to use pads, and not tampons, if you find yourself getting more irritated.
I am affraid to get serious side effects or any... how long does it take for it to get in your system if you were to get a side effect??
It hurts so much too pee that i try not to eat or drink anythign so i wont have to pee. When i use the medications how long will it take to make the pain fade and be able to pee without pain. im really scared, and frustrated. i cant walk or sit without it hurting.
If so he will need IV fluids, so let your vet know, unless you know how to give them? To check for dehydration you need to grab the fur at the neck (where mother kitty's scruff their babies" lift it up and let go. If it springs back in place that is good . If it takes very long then there is dehydration.
My boyfriend and i were both given 2000MG 1 dose of Metronidazole, as far as i know Met would have cleared it up in one dose but sometimes you need to take it again. IF you have it and if you went back to the dr's and had them say it was still there.if not. I suggest not messing with antibiotics, they lower your immune system and make you VERY sick from the side effects. if Flagyl 2 grams orally as single dose 500mg 4 pills didnt work then suggest you talk to your dr.
Is 4 weeks the amt of time that the symptoms should be gone? How long does it take to cure an ulcer? My upper GI test didn't show an ulcer, but my dr seems to think there may be a small one there that didn't show on the test. My symptoms are pain at the very top of my stomach and it's worst when my stomach is empty. The pain has diminished down to discomfort, but it's still not totally gone yet. It's been 4 weeks. How long does it take to get back to normal?
My brother and sister both suffer from a bit of IBS we believe. I used to have something that affected to long long ago, afraid to eat, etc. etc. because... That was back when i was a teenager and extremely overconcious and shy. I seemed to have grown out of the shyness and the IB, thankgod, but i could imagine your struggles!
I've been wanting to respond to this post and get part-way through but never finish! So I'll be brief and say that yes, I treated late-diagnosed Lyme for several years and have improved greatly. I don't know exactly when I was infected, but I was "bad" (with neurological involvement) for about a year before diagnosis. I treated (and still plan to treat more after an upcoming [not Lyme-related] surgery is out of the way) starting in Fall 2008. So I guess almost 4 years!
I just wanted to post a little update to say that I have been off antibiotics for a week and started herbs today. I feel much "cleaner" off antibiotics, it is very refreshing and I don't fully know how do describe wht it is like to have my system clear of that stuff after so long, but it feels nice. I'm much more optimistic about the herbs after all your comments. Ill post an update once I start to see what they are doing for me...

He also said that baby needs monitoring after and has asked me to come back I lm two weeks so he can see weight gain over a two week period ( good indicator that baby is not growing in a compromised uterine environment) . Did your baby show symptoms if so when? How long had u had lyme when he was born?
I don't know why is had prescribed two pain meds for you. Did he not explain when to take the Talwin and when to take the oxycodone? Do not take them together. Call your pharmicist and ask for directions and clarification. I take B12 injectables but I am from the medical community and am able to give my own injections. It means that your levels are low and the only way that your body can properly absorb Vit B12 in by injection.
Hi how long did it take for the rash to subside and for you to feel better.. Please let me know..
Would the 1st poop test show more than worms, would the Sentry worm away cause diarrhea, would it be because she's nursing. I don't want to kick her out or take her to a kill shelter, I was going to try to find her and the babies homes. Is there something I can give the nursing mom to stop the diarrhea? Also should my other cats be fine since they had no contact?
I have had a read of the info on ICV and it definately sounds plausable, however is there a test available to determine if the valve is working? Also how long did it take you to get cured???
I can see where one or two might give you fits (I happen to hate metronidazole that they gave me for diverticulitis). Talk to you doctor, let her/him know how these make you feel. There are others on the market but remember, certain anti-B's are good for certain types of bacteria. So there will be some limitations on how many options you have.
Hi, How are you? Metronidazole is generally well tolerated with appropriate use. Minor side effects include nausea, headaches, loss of appetite, a metallic taste, and rarely a rash. Serious side effects of metronidazole are rare. Serious side effects include seizures and damage of nerves resulting in numbness and tingling of extremities . If the tingling in your hands persists, you must inform your doctor about this. Metronidazole should be discontinued. Take care and do keep us posted.
Spoke to GP via phone and he precribed antibiotics with penicillin which I started taking today and wondering how long it will take for some ease to take effect? And when to expect the swelling to disappear? Thanks in advance!
I doubt that this will change your opinion but I just wanted to clarify that I just started the anti-virals today, we've yet to determine if they're effective. Part of my question was if you could give me an idea of how long it might take, assuming they were effective, for them to have an effect on this condition?
Although symptoms of the disease vary, most women and men who have the parasite cannot tell they are infected. Back to Top How common is trichomoniasis? Trichomoniasis is considered the most common curable STD. In the United States, an estimated 3.7 million people have the infection, but only about 30% develop any symptoms of trichomoniasis. Infection is more common in women than in men, and older women are more likely than younger women to have been infected.
Please come on in and make yourself at home. This is a very good place to be if you want to get off and stay off Tramadol.
My dermatologist had me put an oitment in my nostrils twice a day for 7 days (which sucked) and I'm on Doryx or doxycycline at 150mg for 30 days. I'm two weeks in and it's almost undetectable. She told me to still take the full month to make sure that I really get the infetion out of my skin. The ointment in the nose was to prevent the spreading. Apparently POD is caused by a certain kind of staph in the nose perhaps?
You don't want to take the chance of taking something that will act as an antidote to the antibiotics. Acidopholus helps restore the natural flora balance to your intestines so you don't get diarrhea or thrush from yeast overgrowth.
please respond because i asked my doctor and he said the probiotics wouldnt have a permanent effect but this problem didnt go away yet. how long would it take for my body to go back to normal? or do i have another infection going on? help.
(( i have to say too that at times i did not take metronidazole every eight hours. for instance today, i took one at 9 am and another one at 7pm because i forgot it at home. hope it still works. i will do the tests next week and let you know the results. thanks again for your perfect explanation!!!
I just wanted to know to pinpoint how long it has been since you were infected. The treatment is Doxycycline and should be for about 1-2 months. It depends on your symptoms. About 6 weeks if you have symptoms to 2 months not a couple of weeks. Click on about Lyme, then scroll to treatment. Go to far right of the Welcome to the 16th edition ,Dr. Buscaranos guidelines go to bottom where it says download guidelines. I got the PDF file there. It talks all about the various forms of the disease.
