The reason that the other poster could have been cured by cipro is that she may have had a Mycoplasma and it may have been sensitive to ciprofloxacin. But the standard treatment for bv is either metronidazole or Clindamycin. So you can try the cipro and see if it clears up but if it doesn't then if can take clindamycin I would then take probiotics after. Cipro can treat a lot of UTI's but not all. It depends on the bacteria that is causing the infection and how resistant it is.
It started about a week ago and is steadily getting stronger. It is a sweet, salty, greasy, and fermented smell. Like a mixture of bacon and soy sauce(This has nothing to do with the urban terms "bacon vagina" and "Chinese lunchbox" -- this is for real). The smell is odd but not unpleasant. I've had lots of yeast infections, this does not smell like that. I've also had lots of UTI's and it doesn't smell like that either.
I have been with my fiance for 3years and ive always had UTI's before i got with him but its been more frequent since last year2010. Not only that I went to the hospital because of vaginal pain,itching, and oder. I dont have vaginal discharge tho.....They always say I have a bad urinary tract infection but now they are saying its a vaginal infection. I dont understand how i am getting UTI's so much and the vaginal infection is new.
I have taken three rounds of the single dose. Twice of Metronidazole and once for Tindamax. Then a couple weeks later Metronidazole twice a day for seven days. I saw no change in my symptoms. When I realized that I wasn't getting better I went back to my obgyn, thats when they told me again that its "inactive". I told her I didn't know what that meant and she said that it means its not moving and said its like little spores of trich.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

But ive been having flank pain is it possible i have all three UTI,BV,and small yeast infection? If so would the metronidazole for my BV cure the UTI?
she gave me prescription to take metronidazole for a week treatment.. after that, no more bad smell coming out from my secretions but i am afraid because sometimes my vagina is itchy.. does it mean i still have std bacteria?
Your taking cranberry pills may not be doing much for an actual infection, though the symptoms mat resolve for a while.

Thanks God. They gave me Metronidazole again and another tablet for uti. Now my discharge is like snot. I recently went to a new doctor and had gramstain. She said my results were okay. But she noticed a wart inside my vagina. It's small though. Why do I still have this discharge? :( The discharge is not smelly but it resembles mucus. I'm still waiting for the result of my pap test. Please share your thoughts about my problem.
I was wondering whether or not anyone has had experience with an recurring UTI's? I have been having this problem lately, and am looking for a connection. I have been dx'd for 16 years, and I think until recently have only experienced one.
Has anyone had UTI'S all throughout pregancy? Just finished antibiotics and found our that I still have one when I went to the ER last night! Hope the medicine they give me finally makes it go away.
Hi there. Well, no. That shouldn't be related. UTI's are caused by bacteria entering the bladder. Meth is wicked stuff but it is not the cause of UTI's. I would consider, though, that he is unsafe to live with. If he is smoking it or worse, making it where you live, that is toxic. They condemn properties that have been poisoned by meth in my area. I am thinking that meth use would be a deal breaker for me and I'd be out of there. good luck and sorry this is the case.
But when I went to the doctors they told me I had gonorrhea and a UTI!!! So I was treated for both and felt okay but I still felt off. So about two weeks later it started to hurt when I would use the restroom and so I went back to the doctors and they said it was just a UTI and I'm about half way done with my antibiotics and I still feel weird! Is it possible that I still have gonorrhea? Or could it be something else? And why is it still hurting when I pee?
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.

I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I had to take it last week for 5 days. Everything is great with baby. It does say that there is no harm to take it however I understand your concern. I'm 27w 5d I'm sure I would've been me hesitant at 6 weeks.
After an entire cycle, I went to the gyno and got a swab which was a positive for BV and Yeast. I was given one dose medicine for the yeast and a week prescription of metronidazole of two tablets per day. The yeast and BV seemed to go away, but while taking this I began spotting again- my period had lasted three days prior to taking this medicine and then 14 days in I had brown bloody discharge, then clear discharge with bleeding then what looked like a light period!
Hi guys,i seen some peoples on this forum that got rid off patm with Flagyl(Metronidazole), have you tried this? Would be nice to hear some oppinions about it from peoples who actually used it.
