Avatar f tn Please let me know if you have got yourself tested for H Pylori after you started to use Manuka Honey? For how long did you use Honey?
Avatar f tn infection with helicobacter pylori and use of nonsteroidal anti inflammatory medications (NSAID). Although you are on PPI you need therapy for H pylori. Helicobacter pylori, also known as H. pylori, is a bacterium that is commonly found in the stomach. It is present in approximately one-half of the world's population. The vast majority of people infected with H. pylori infection have no symptoms and will never develop problems. No single drug cures H. pylori infection.
Avatar m tn t have current digestive problems (did have an ulcer in the past but that seems unrelated) and I tested negative for H. Pylori. I don't have tonsil stones either. Despite testing negative for H. Pylori, I found some studies showing an effective treatment with Metronidazole + Omeprazole and for the past 4-5 years I've been doing that every 2-6 months. The smell completely goes away 2 days after I start taking it (I continue for 1-2 weeks).
Avatar n tn To be sure if H. pylori is eradicated, you should have a breath urea test for H. pylori. Symptoms should go away right after the end of the antibiotic treatment. There are other possible triggers of acidity: acidic drugs: aspirins, ibuprofen...acidic food, anxiety...and gallbladder disorder to name some. Pain under right ribs, you've mentioned in the first post, may be from gallbladder. The first investigation for gb is ultrasound.
Avatar m tn The next day he forwarded the test result which showed H Pylori. I took for fourteen days Imadrax 1000 mg, Metronidazol 500 mg and continued with omeprazol 20 mg. It did help for two weeks and again I consulted my doctor who sent me to another specialist. I am again on Omeprazol 20 mg and recently on Pantoprazol 40 mg. Symtoms are still there and my question is: Do these medicine are the correct one to cure H Pyleri?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with H pylori and have been on triple antibiotics- Amoxicillan, omeprazole, metronidazole. I am also on Sucralfate for acid control, promethazine for vomit control and Hydrocodone for pain control. Does this really sound like H. Pylori or is there a possibility that something else is going on?
Avatar m tn i think it is not goining by antibiotic alone or garlic alone, i think H. Pylori can be treated by quadruple therapy for one week Esomeprazole (Nexium) + Clarithromycin (clacid) + Metronidazole (flagyl) + (Lactobacillus reuteri (i.e. biogaia) after the antibiotic course it has a suppression effect on h.pylori and prevent its occurance).
Avatar f tn So this is day nine on the prilosec and day seven on the antibiotics (Ammoxicillin and clarithromycin)for the H pylori. My symptoms are still there SOMETIMES after eating. For the most part it has been a bland diet, except for the exception of a hamburger yesterday which caused extreme discomfort. Could this be a side effect of the medicine or my stomach trying to heal still? Please let me know if I should tough it out with the antibiotics or could this be something else?
Avatar f tn Blood tests for H Pylori will be positive in blood for a long time after treatment, but the stool test for H Pylori should be negative after adequate treatment.

Avatar n tn I was recently dx with H pylori. Along with the H pylori I have this weird body odor which smells slightly of ammonia and somewhat meaty? I have this weird taste in my mouth as well. I was taking a prevpac for 14 days and I thought that would take care of the weird body odor as well as kill off the pylori bugs. My stomach feels better but I still smell weird? I also have bright red blood in my stool with each stool. At this point I have no idea what's going on.
Avatar m tn the following few days i had tremors anxiety and could not sleep this lasted a few days. then i had an appointment with gp who told me i had h pylori from a test the month previous i was given 3 tablets to cure it and 1 of them was ammoxicillin and again after 3 days the same symptoms came back. i was told that i react badly to ammoxicillin and was given different meds which are ok.
1442483 tn?1284210716 However it did state Moderately Acute Gastritis H. Pylori not detected. I already had scheduled an allergy test for Wed. He tested allergic to yeast (and carrots, but no worries there for sure!). At the initial consultation with the Dr.
Avatar m tn I got the test done again about a month back and was tested positive for H Pylori again. And I am going thru the treatment all over again. I am not a regular smoker but have a drink every night. No Blood Pressure, no Diabetes, no Heart ailment and have never been hospitalised for any ailment. I recently learnt from the internet that Manuka Honey is very effective against H Pylori. Is it true?
Avatar m tn Yes H-Pylori can cause bad chest pain, the pain is coming from the esophigus, which is just to the left of the center of your chest, if you are certain you have H-Pylori, the pain is caused by excess stomach acid, you need to get treated as H-Pylori is a nasty bacteria, it lays dorment in most people and is held in check by your stomachs good bacteria, although when you take an Anti-biotic treatment for an infection, it kills off the good bacteria and H-Pylori takes over and if left untrated fo
