My skin has been freaking out for about 3 months-It started about the same time I started moving from Georgia to Texas. I assume that a large part has to due with stress and allergies but I have tried everything- From General Practitioners, Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and a physiatrist (who confirms I do have skin issues and am not delusional) - and my scalp still feels creepy crawly. In the sun my hair shines almost iridescently in some places but black in others.

Two days later I started having really foul and heavy amounts of vaginal discharge. So I went to my doctor to be tested for STDs. She prescribed me 500 mg of Metronidazole to take twice daily for 7 days. She told me it was for Bacterial Vaginosis. The discharge disappeared and after a week of getting no call from my doctor about results of std testing, I called. The doctor never called me back. So a couple more weeks have past, I'm feeling fine, everything is okay I assumed.

After this happened I noticed he had many towels within his bedroom that he used to wipe his genital area due to profuse sweating and the towels had a fungus like or yeast like odor to them. I also noticed within his bedroom many containers of fungus cream for his genitals. I have mainly noticed the burning and itching on the right side of my labia and within my vagina. The left side of my vagina and labia appear to be fine.
Given your situation, I would take metronidazole 500 mg. by mouth three times per day for ten days as well as the Cipro 500 mg. by mouth twice a day for ten days. Tetracycline 500 mg. four times per day for 10 days would be my choice over the Cipro. Your wife’s urinary tract infection is unrelated to your present problem. S.A.Liroff, M.D.
Doctors usually prescribe a topical antibiotic, such as metronidazole, that is applied directly to the affected skin. For people with more severe cases, doctors often prescribe an oral (taken by mouth) antibiotic. Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline are the most common antibiotics used to treat rosacea. Some people respond quickly, while others require long-term therapy.

Studies have shown that antibiotics (usually metronidazole or clindamycin) plus after that is done take probiotics once a week for 6 months and it may not recur. Without the probiotics there is often recurrence. You can buy probiotics with various live bacteria such as bifidobacteria, lactobacillus and so forth at about 10 billion copies. Places like Costco and so forth have them or online. Your doctor will need to examine you to be sure it is BV.

Do NOT use Vagisil if you suspect BV! Vagisil treats yeast infections. A yeast infection is an overgrowth of a fungus that can affect the skin (examples: Athlete’s Foot, nails (onychomycosis), mouth (thrush), digestive tract, esophagus, vagina (vulvovaginal candidiasis) and other parts of the body. Yeast infections occur most frequently in moist areas of the body. Although Candida albicans are the most frequent offenders, other types of yeasts (fungi) are known to cause infections.
I am an STD nurse-- it is safe and waht is prescribed for most penile fungal infections. The redness and irritation--without seeing it-- sounds like possible yeast or fungal infection of the skin. Athletes foot cream like lamisil is not specially formulated for feet it is specially formulated to kill fungus and works anywhere you put it except eyes and internally of course. But this is just a help board, you can always go to the clinic and see what help you can get there.

Hi, I tested positive for Chlamydia on 26th Feb and took the prescribed treatment, Zithromax 250mg (4 tablets as a single dose), the same day. However, I now find there is noticeably stronger smell than before from my penis which is probably due to a clear discharge from my penis. The discharge seems more regular than before but I am not sure if this is as I am more self conscious about it. I also feel a little soreness in the lower part of the tract of my penis when I check it.
Yeast infection or thrush is at times very difficult to treat. You may need to take oral antifungal pills twice a week for 3-4 weeks along with local application of antifungal cream. There are many types of antifungals available. Take an OTC antifungal with a combination of two or more anti fungals. Use both oral and local application. At times both partners need to be treated. Test for diabetes and other STDs as presence of either or both can make it difficult to treat the fungal infection.
Separating them seems to work much better....at least for now. Since this med is used for fungus on nails, I'm anxious to see if the black mold/fungus will disappear soon.
If you added fish to a new tank then your filters (where all your bacteria grows in your sponges) have not matured enough to cope with the waste. It is recommended for a new tank that you should do a 25% water change every week for the first six weeks, then every other week thereafter. When you take the water out from the tank it needs to be syphoned off from the bottom and not scooped out of the top because most of the fish waste lies at the bottom.
I am a woman I been with my partner for 4 years, but from the first time we got together my partner and I ( 4 years ago) 5-7 days later I felt  pain inside my vagina, swelling vulva, burning sensation inside but never no smell at all but I never went to check with the doctor but I been feeling always this reaction after we make love and even sometimes I cant do it bc is sooo swelling inside and made me go to urine sooo much too(we are Monogamous)but finally 2 years ago I mention to the Gym dr a
I'm allergic to Nonoxonyl 9 so we used baby oil for lubricant. The actual penetration only lasted approximately 10 seconds at which time he withdrew. However, the condom slipped off him as he was withdrawing. I recently read that baby oil should not be used with a latex condom because it breaks down the latex and renders the condom ineffective. Is this true? The reason I ask is because 3 days ago I started getting what I thought was a yeast infection.

It was either a bacterial infection similar to vaginosis. Or some sort of fungus. He prescribed Metronidazole cream which I have been taking for 3 days and have 2 days left. At first it instantly helped. it was such a relief. but now, like the monistat, it seems to be losing its effect and the itching is starting and the redness is getting worse again. Also the cream is starting to burn more and more every time I put it on.
