He was treated with a few different drugs such as METRONIDAZOLE and others. They cleared it up for a bit but the diarrhea came back quickly and since then, the vets I've gone to don't see any parasites in their quick look under a microscope or with the float tests. Based on their clear lack of understanding of the numerous types of parasites that can affect a cat, I don't trust their judgement. I have learned from research that it's difficult to get rid of parasites in an animal.
By Monday, I took her to the vet, who prescribed Metronidazole (Flagyl) and a prescription canned food by Hill to help firm her bowel movements. She has endured 6 days of liquid bowels, 3 of which have been on medication... and the ONLY things that have changed are the color of her liquid (was always mustard-ish...now chocolate-colored) and the putrid smell has diminished. She is still experiencing explosive liquid movements several times a day.
Yesterday, (I'm not sure why) I stuck my finger up there and when I pulled it out, I saw these tiny (about 1/4 of a millimeter long) moving things that looked like worms or something. I don't believe it's tapeworms because I have read that part of them, or there eggs, are found in feces and that they are atleast 1 millimeter long. Please help...
So, she put me on Metronidazole pills 2x a day for 7 days and Metronidazole gel every night injected into the vagina. Then the side effects started. Constant headache, dizziness and feeling terrible. Went off the pills after 3 days since these side effects are listed on the paperwork. But continued with the gel. One more night to go and today the burning is back again. It's never been terrible burning, just uncomfortable.
my panties get really drenched with discharge and i have to change them three times a day; i continue to see doctors over and over again. Primary care doctors, obgyn, hospitals. No cause or cure. of course im extreme depressed. i get bumps that grow inside around the area my pubic hairs grow; when they do grow out they disappear. they are not sores; but if i buds them they will pus and bleed.
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
The parasites may just have been coincidental, or the parasitic infection could have been so severe that it caused anemia, or another GI problem that requires probiotics, metronidazole and other therapies.
i've seen white looking little seeds in it, more of those things appearing to be thread worms, dizzyness, lightheaded, bloating esp after 1st bowel and 2 hrs after meals). Gives me 500 mg Metronidazole t.i.d for two weeks!!! Story gets more strange.... return from gastro...PCP treating me all this time calls that stool samples are positive for Dientamoeba Fragilis and Nana Fragilis. RX Tetracycline 500 mg 4 per day for 10 days.
had her from 8 weeks old she has had constant diarea and has had blood and mucus in it had her to the pdsa they pumped her with antibiotics after antibiotics still havent done a thing for her took her to a private vet they still non the wiser what is the matter with her the blood cleared up but she still has the diarea what could this be.i kept her on a bland diet for 3 months and it still hasnt helped her.
So I administered her the med for 2 days (500mg per day) and after that she started giving off stools with long white parasitic worms in it. I am now giving her milk, water, and oatmeal for fiber (via syringe without the needle) but seems she is not absorbing the food because she quickly excretes them. She is now very thin and I don't know if she will survive. Maybe the medicine is still taking a toll on her. Can anybody help me how to take care of her?

I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
Thank you for taking time to read and respond to this post. I am actually very concerned about my current health situation. I'll try to be as brief as possible. Three weeks ago (July 19, 2009 to be exact), I over indulged in a BBQ buffet consisting of pork ribs, beef brisket and beef/pork sausage. I followed with a fairly large piece of pecan pie with ice cream. I ate about 7 pork ribs, 4-5 pieces brisket and 5 small slices of sausage. About 3 hours after the indulgence, my symptoms began.
The vet took a fecal smear, which was negative. Gave him Metronidazole 500 mg bid for 10 days and Foriflora for 30 days.No difference. She then tested him again for worms (negative) and put him on a dewormer just in case (Drontal Plus and Panacur). Still no improvement. He cont'd with loose stools daily and occasional watery diarrhea. A fecal culture was done to test for bacteria, which came up negative. We changed his diet to Iams low residue puppy.
It was the humane society, and they did all these tests, X-rays, had to give him fluid and anti nausea shot. Sent me home with metronidazole, and panacur, which was odd. They said it was gastrointestinal. I'm mad because they should have not charged me 56.00 for a follow up when this was a very healthy cat. He's eating, but only dry food. He won't touch the wet food. He was 8.7 pounds, the day I brought him back he lost a pound, and he feels lighter two days later.
Vaginal itching may be due to chemical irritants (such as detergents, fabric softeners, feminine sprays, ointments, creams, douches, and contraceptive foams or jellies), drop in estrogen, pin worms and stress. Hence first you will have to find the cause of itch. The treatment will depend on the cause. Take care!
If, after the azithromycin/metronidazole treatment you still have symptoms and you have followed my other advice, you are probably OK. 3. Hard to say. There is a possibility that this is related to having been exposed to your infection and is a sign that she is infected. Hope this helps.
The reason I say the doc should go ahead and treat you, whether it showed up on the slides or not, is because I had a dog who had worms all the time, and the very day that the vet tested him for worms and he was clear, I was with him when he passed waste, and I saw a living worm crawl out of it, so tests don't always catch everything!
PS Simone is a little more active each day also. I jsut hope once she finishes all the medications that symptoms do not return. And yes I think we will be looking for a second opinion if symtoms persist. Thank you and any I welcome any ideas or suggestions!
Around that time I noticed a wart/molluscum around my thigh area and went to Planned Parenthood on December 29th to get it diagnosed and treated. They also took my PAP and culture for a Chlamidya and Gohnorrea (sp?) test. The results came back normal and negative. I have been very stressed ever since. In January I had a Yeast Infection which i was given Gynazole 1 day treatment.
Returned a few weeks later to my family doctor cause I was still itchy with no rash but still had some discharge I had taken a flucozonal pill for yeast and was using cream for external itch. My doctor did swabs and a pap and they came back negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea once again and was still itchy, but doctor told me to try another yeast pill so I did, I was having some white clumpy discharge as well.
The Mama still has some stinky poo and sometimes having soft oozy poop again. I wonder if the babies had worms and reinfected her? I put a litter box in for the babies but they mostly play in it and pee on the towel that's around the littler box . I'm assuming now that the babies are starting to eat wet food, the pooping will be coming. I hope the mama shows them where to go.
vet has never seen anything like this before, and they've seen ALOT of cats and kittens. She's been checked for worms; she had an episode of diarrhea a while back, but other than that she uses her litter box and everything is normal. She had a hard time getting into it still... I have the smallest one I could find but it's still really big to her. I don't think she could be a dwarf... She doesn't have the short legs & long body. Her body is just like a normal, fat, 2-3 week old kitten.
The crate may be the problem and causing the stress....A larger area would be easier for you to clean and give her more room to not walk or lay in it..... We've had many Shih-Tzus come through rescue....I think they ARE harder than most to potty train, but it seems when they reach 1 year old, the "GET IT".....
Please come on in and make yourself at home. This is a very good place to be if you want to get off and stay off Tramadol.
net/forum/source/newsday/TPSS8QRGJM6D4MVVA/p21#c428 [Posted 8-21, added here 8-28] My maltese has had intermittent periods of horrible bloody diarrhea and vomiting for the past 6 weeks. The vet checked her for worms which of course was negative. She put her on 2 different medications (one being an antibiotic) and told me to stop all treats and slowly introduce them back one by one. Gracie had been getting the waggin train brand of chicken jerky tenders-probably up to 4 or more a day.
It is effective with bacterial and viral infections, and some but not all fungal infections. The Flip-Turn is the original, and still the best Sinus Flush. WARNING! DISCLAIMER! The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down. You could possibly hit your head, get knocked out, or break something.
I've been suffering from an inflammed and irritated meatus for just over seven weeks now and I'm really confused as to what's causing it or how to fix it. I'm in a foreign country at the moment so access to healthcare and consequently explaining my problem in a foreign language hasn't been the easiest. For that reason, I'm writing here to see if anyone could lend some advice. I suppose all of this started in late December when I received a sort of rough unprotected handjob from a sex worker.
-not getting sick after I eat -no blood (dark or bright red) visible in stool -no visible sign of any worms in stool -that’s about all I can think of I have been researching online and all my symptoms point to: irritable bowel syndrome chrones disease (minus bleeding, since I'm not bleeding) parasitic infection bacterial infection colitis cancer All the symptoms I am having basically point to every possible bowl symptom I could find. Very frustrating.
