Last night I finished my seven day antibiotic metronidazole and now that I woke up it feels hard for me to swallow and my throat feels swollen(no pain.) and it feels like a build up of mucas that cant come up or go down when i swallow..throughout the whole treatment my tongue has felt raw like Ive ate a million bags of salt and vinegar chips..anyone else experience this?im 15w5d pregnant.
Hi Sarah, BV it will just keep coming back, and may go on for a few years yet, try the natural way, google bv and sea salt, you could also try bv and boric acid, on earthclinic under symptoms you find BV, and apple cider vinegar as a cure or ACV, just some other ways to try.
Who knows one day you will beat it.
I started to smell a distinct odor (none fishy, but almost sour) in the next couple of days I suspected it was BV, given that I’m prone to having them. I contacted my Gynecologist who prescribed me Metronidazole for 14 days. I took as I was instructed, yet a slight vinegar odor has remained. At this point I’m assuming it’s my diet, I already have HSV2 and hoping it’s not another STD or STI. Has anyone experienced this? What could it be if not my diet?
One of the suggestions was apple cider vinegar. She said it wouldn’t hurt to dilut a little apple cider vinegar with water and insert it in my vagina. I went home and took a bath with apple cider vinegar in it. I also took a q-tip with water and the vinegar and swabbed my vagina. It BURNED!! I feel as if my vagina has not felt the same since. I got my test results back a few days later and everything came back negative. I was worry free until it began to hurt when I urinated.
I have had an ongoing infection for some years now and within the last year and a half, I decided to get a new diagnosis from a few new doctors. The infection is in my vagina and I have no symptoms except for a clear/ yellow- beigeish/ light green discharge; thin to thick and stringy/ slimy like a huge booger : it changes through out the month... It does have a smell and it's musty but never fishy at all... It's not an std (because I am a virgin), yeast infection or BV.
I am very worried about my condition, my discharge is yellowish and comes wit skin tissue and its also an awful smell...sometime its itchy or swollen..i actuali took doxycyline,metronidazole and ciprotab and still theres no relief.
Last 2 months i had a vad watery green diarrhea for 3 days. My MD prescribe ciprofloxacin and metronidazole. Please help.im having anxiety thinking of it .can i send pictures? Thankyou very much!!
7/12 - Visited an Urologist and he prescribed 14 days of Doxy and one dosage of Cipro - The antibiotics had no effect on my condition.
8/10 - Used Miconazole 7 again w/ vinegar for 7 days.
8/30 - Using Lamisil AT for four weeks – Also took one dose of Diflucan.
9/15 – IgG positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2 at 4+ months post exposure. My first test didn't include HSV1 test but I am going to assume I had it prior to exposure.
Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole and clindamycin.

so I'm bubbleRad (forgot the email for that account) and sure enough it was BV, went to my appointment, doctor said it wasn't too bad and prescribed me Metronidazole, but she also recommended trying Allicin capsules, which apparently works better than garlic cloves (bc there's more of the active ingredient), luckily I got a doctor that was open to discussing other treatments.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

I have been treated three times with metronidazole, and now have a prescription for clindamycin. Do you stabbing pains occasionally in the vaginal area as well?
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
