No burning just feeling of very full bladder and a lot of pressure and frequent urination. I was taking probiotics, cranberry pills and colodal silver and it seemed to be getting better. But after a few days came back and I also started having yellow discharge. So I saw the doctor and he diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis even though my discharge has no odor.
Also, whenever you start then stop any antibiotic, you are upsetting your gut flora - which will only slow down your healing, as this is how C Diff thrives. Call your doc and soon, and www.cdiffsupport.com has a wealth of information and studies that both you and your doctor may find helpful. Feel better soon - but truly, call your doctor.
By Monday, I took her to the vet, who prescribed Metronidazole (Flagyl) and a prescription canned food by Hill to help firm her bowel movements. She has endured 6 days of liquid bowels, 3 of which have been on medication... and the ONLY things that have changed are the color of her liquid (was always mustard-ish...now chocolate-colored) and the putrid smell has diminished. She is still experiencing explosive liquid movements several times a day.
I had taken antiobiotics previous to that but have been using probiotics. I had a colonoscopy, CT scan of abdomen and pelvic area, ultrasound and sonegram (ovaries) of my pelvic area all clean. I was also on Metronidazole for 7 days but it didn't seem to help. The doc is going to use a camera to look at my stomach and small intestines and a sigmoidoscopy. I am able to eat and don't have nausea. I lost weight in the beginning but am stable now.
The reason that the other poster could have been cured by cipro is that she may have had a Mycoplasma and it may have been sensitive to ciprofloxacin. But the standard treatment for bv is either metronidazole or Clindamycin. So you can try the cipro and see if it clears up but if it doesn't then if can take clindamycin I would then take probiotics after. Cipro can treat a lot of UTI's but not all. It depends on the bacteria that is causing the infection and how resistant it is.
In his first trip to the vet he tested positive for giardia and coccidia. We treated both with Flagyl and Albon, and after two weeks the diarrhea only seemed to be getting worse and there was blood in his stool. We took him back to the vet and again he tested positive for coccidia. The vet put him on Metro for 10 days, and a diet of overcooked white rice and grilled chicken. Once he was on the rice diet the diarrhea cleared up.
I douche with peroxide after sex also. Take probiotics everyday whether you have symptoms or not. For guys who are positive and your partner has no symptoms then you have nothing to worry about. Most men who are positive are uncircumcized. Take probiotics, soak with hydrogen peroxide twice daily for a week(retract foreskin), drink 100% cranberry juice. Here is the hard part. No sex during treatment period. You can test false negative for BV.
Typically a concentrated stool sample is used. Metronidazole, furazolidone, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX), quinacrine and pentamidine are used to treat this parasite and may be considered if the Cipro is ineffective. The fact that the eosinophils are elevated may be suggestive of a parasite. If the infectious route is a dead end, then it is time to consider endoscopy - either a colonoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy.
C then 2 days later developed a blood staph infection and they pumped god knows what through me for two weeks while I was in the hospital then developed severe gastritis and chronic BV and with the BV they put me on 21 days of metronidazole, which felt like posion and actually made the infection worse.
I had two deadly bacterias working together, which nearly ended up trying to kill me. I am taking a medication called Metronidazole 3X a day and it makes everything taste horrible. My only suggestion to those of you having smelly burps, acid reflux, constipation, having to use suppositories to make yourself go, feel bloated, stomach swelled, having lots of gas....GET TO A GASTRO DOC! Don't put it off! I was wheeled in via ambulance and you do not want this to be you.
This doc decided to stop doxy ¨it has done its job¨¨.. and instead of doxy prescribed me with Cefuroxime, and said to continue with Metronidazole (flagyl) as a cyst buster (been 7 months on it). I asked the doc how to tell the difference between CFS and Lyme... basically said 3/4 of the people suffering from CFS actually have lyme... and the rest could be having an elevated virus load, and that both conditions can be cured.. and thatr it is a condition or cause caused by infection/disease/etc.
Many take clarithromycin and amoxicillin as the first line of treatment and some replace amoxicillin with metronidazole for people who are allergic to penicillin. For the treatment of clarithromycin-resistant strains of H. pylori the use of levofloxacin as part of the therapy has been suggested. I would find out which combination the drs want you to take.
Then I experienced anal fissure and irregularities. I took probiotics and Activia probiotic and felt better at the time for 10 days. Symptoms have decreased by the year passed. Last 3 months, the symptoms reoccurred when I was stressed for exams. Then I visited the doctor and I got x-rayed and diagnosed with constipation. I had stool tests and resulted negative. I was also x-rayed positive with weak upper gastric sphincter by Barium swallow.
Also usually a course of metronidazole helps. However, before you opt for this, eat fibers in your diet, drink water clear soups etc and take probiotics. If this does not help, please consult your doctor regarding metronidazole and stool test. Take care! He just had a treatment with Ivermectin for the microphagia (?). The shelter vet prescribe some metronidazole fore his diarreah and upset stomach. They also suggested a diet of rice and chicken. I'm wondering if a more natural remedy for his upset stomach would include chicken, rice and garlic? (His fecal test did not show any disease so they suspected he had a nervous upset stomach.
Hi, It could be antibiotic associated colitis. Stool analysis and colonoscopy would be helpful in diagnosing it. ) Anyway, one of my dogs had a few episodes of intermittent vomiting and diarrhea for the past 5 days - her stool was jelly like and one had traces of blood, and her vomit is usually gloopy and yellowish and at one time, had a tinge of pink / red specks in it, and recently it appeared foamy.
I'm allergic to Murpirocin, neosporin, bacitracin, clindamycin, metronidazole all topicals and had a syncope from a tetracycline type drug. My brother is anaphylaxic to penicillin. It sounds like you can tolerate Mupirocin but the topical isn't enough for your tissue infection. Celluitis can be pretty deep in the tissue so if it isn't working either the bacteria are resistant to it or it isn't penetrating the tissue well enough. You could ask to try mupircin oral and see if that works better.
I left the office and came back in 1 hour. She took out the tampon and there was no blue dye. So she said no fistula between the colon and vagina. So I went home and went to the bathroom. Well there was blue dye in my urine. So I went back into the office where they drew some urine with a catherer. There was blue tint to it. So she said that it was between my colon and bladder. So I went to the Cleveland Clinic and was checked and they could not find anything. They even did a coloscopy.
Most people who develop c-diff are cured after their first or second round of Flagyl or Vanco. Be sure and talk to your gyn-ob about this and probiotics have helped me alot. Good luck and pray you are over this soon....
I might be fine for an hour or so, but after that my stomach will start churning and make noises, at faster intervals (and also gets louder). I have to pass gas a lot too, but that doesn't really stop it so I just hold it in until I go to the restroom. The only thing I can do about this is to poop again. As a rough estimate, I'd say that I poop at least 7 times a day.
Take metronidazole and probiotics to control diarrhea.
I was rushed to the emergency room and had CT scans, abdominal XRays, and stool samples taken. I was diagnosed with C. diff. After my second hospital stay, I was sent home with Metronidazole 500MG tablets to take with food 3X a day. I am on my 8th day of taking this, and still have diarrhea with a loss of appetite. When will the diarrhea clear up? After the Flagyl treatment is completed? Should I be taking a probiotic supplement along with the Flagyl?
It will provide lots of good information about your grandson's health issues, including how antibiotics figure in and treatments. The probiotics mentioned can be utilized immediately from the grocery store, Acidophilus milk. But I would print out the whole article and forthwith take it to a gastroenterologist, see can he take over the case, as it takes careful handling. http://www.mayoclinic.
I ate some pork about 3 weeks ago and the next day I fell ill with dehydration and major diahrea so my doctor told me to drink plenty of gatorade and pedia lite. I felt a lot better from the dehydration but my diahrea didnt go away so my doctor prescribed cipro on Tuesday(3days ago) and today(friday) my diahrea still pretty bad. How long does it(cipro) usually take to work or may I have something more serious?? Please help.
Hi, Tapering of metronidazole (Flagyl) is usually not done. It is given for 14 days and stopped. Improvement may be seen as early 2-4 days after starting the treatment. If there is no response it may indicate resistnace to metronidazole. Discuss with her doctor about taking probiotics along with Flagyl.
So, she put me on Metronidazole pills 2x a day for 7 days and Metronidazole gel every night injected into the vagina. Then the side effects started. Constant headache, dizziness and feeling terrible. Went off the pills after 3 days since these side effects are listed on the paperwork. But continued with the gel. One more night to go and today the burning is back again. It's never been terrible burning, just uncomfortable.
my physician tells me its sugar, and hey! i love sugar, but i have been cutting back. I'm also on probiotics and that helps too. but its still coming. Bottom line, I have two questions: 1) is this normal? and 2) (which is my main question) my boyfriend and I are up to our, approximately, fifth or sixth time having sex. I have given him oral sex pleanty of times and he is really requesting to repay me.

For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
