I was given metronidazole to treat Bacterial Vaginosis for twice a day for 5 days, it worked within the 2-3 day the odor cleared up, no itching nothing, however after i finished what i was prescribed to take, i started to have dryness and was itching again , i have phoned the GUM and im not happy with the responce I had as they gave no help or information , but told me to wait until my other results come back for sti's, I dont understand because the treatment has worked but now that ive fini
i was given doxycycline and more metronidazole and finished these about three weeks ago. the tests results for stds and candida all came back negative, but the sympoms are still present.
i am going back to the gum the next time i can get away from work, but no one has been able to tell me what kind of infection this is or what kind of treatment will work. i would think it was only bv but the doctor said that it was an infection of some kind.
Last year in October I got Trichomoniasis from my ex. I took the antibiotic metronidazole to get rid of it. All my symptoms went away, the itching, green discharge, burning, all of it. Annoyingly enough now every time I get my period, I start itching really bad. No weird discharge or bumps just really itchy vagina. It happens every time, around the same time of the month. I have never had this problem before the trichomoniasiss. Has this happened to anyone else? Could the std have came back.
turns out it was just Bacterial Vaginosis which is just an upset in normal bacteria in the vagina. I was given Metronidazole with is just an anti-infective and viola! all is well with the world.
A bit more detail if needed - doctor told me I had BV and prescribed the Metronidazole gel for 5 days. I finished using the gel on Sunday Oct 2. My symptoms seemed to be going away. However, starting yesterday morning, I have been experiencing some itching as well as thick, cottage-cheese like discharge. I understand it is common to develop a yeast infection after metronidazole.
After 6 months on suppressive therapy, I was having constant vaginal itching and redness. My OB changed my valtrex to 1 gm and had vaginal itching decrease but did not go away. I was prescribed a cream-triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% and it would help to relieve the itch, but it would come back a few days later. I have used the cream for 2 years off and on, until recently due to becoming pregnant. Is itching a side effect of the valtrex?

my wife has been diagnosed with BV she was prescribed metronidazole i looked up the medication to see about side effects and it led me to trich which after reading about it my wife is having those symptoms sweeling itching burning it has become so bad that this morning the pain brought her to tears she has been taking the metronidazole for three days now and also pills for the pain but they do nothing and it seems to be getting worse also this morning she woke up with a rash around her collar b
I have just been taking Benadryl and the only thing it does is stops the itching. I went to the emergency room and the Dr. there really was no help at all. She just prescribed Hydroxyzine HCl but I am afraid to try any new medicine. Please give me some suggestions. Tomorrow I will go to my Primary Care Physician to hopefully get some answers and relief. I didnt feel anything untik with day two it started to buble up some whitish that smells like my sup i wanna say my vagina washed away the metronidazole is that a process of changing? And i feel like im getting.better!i woke up itching i thought and when i smell its the med, ohh i didbt say i didnt have a bad odor.
t able to go back to the doctor for a follow up because I was away at college. In January I went back to the gyn and I took a dose of metronidazole. There was no reduction in symptoms and I'm still having issues with discharge, itching, burning during urination and just general irritation. Recently, my right labia has been causing me discomfort while, walking, exercising or just laying down. Does this discomfort have anything to do with BV?
I started to get bladder pressure and burning and thats why I went in to the obgyn yesterday. She prescribed me this gel and I started taking it yesterday and twice today morning and evening. Tonight when I used the tube I took it out and it had a few specks of almost blood clot looking things. Its really weird and I am not on my period nor expecting it for 6 days. Could this be a bad side effect of the gel?
It's been 3 months and my doctor keeps giving me metronidazole. Apparently I have bv but i never experienced a burning/itching or bad odor... I only see a bit of green after i wipe so it's not messy but i know green means bad... It's making me depressed because the green mucousy discharge never seems to go away. Also my bf doesn't have any problems so its not an std.
any advice? home remedies? help?

I recently engaged in unprotected vaginal sex with a woman of unknown status and in the following week developed symptoms of mild dysuria, penile itching, and a clear mucus-like discharge that became cloudy briefly. I went for an STD panel where I was diagnosed with a chlamydial infection (all other tests were negative). I was prescribed 1g azithromycin single dose, however after 2 weeks the symptoms didn't resolve.
I came back in and was tested Trichomoniasis gonorrhea, and chlamydia while being prescribed metronidazole and azithromycin as prophylactic. I am on day 3 of 7 of the new meds and again all the test came back negative but I still have dysuria. In addition this morning while urinating I had what looked like a little tiny clear sack of liquid come out of my penis with a drop or two of blood. I am almost certain this was a cyst from a water borne parasite but I am no doctor.
I get a strong smelling odor starting about 18 hours after I shower, i shower every day. The odor is so strong that it goes through my clothes. I also have excess discharge that is white. I am not pregnant and haven't had sex in close to a month and have no stds. I also have no itching or pain. I am Male 42, from Pakistan I had unprotected sex vaginal and slight anal penetration once (big mistake ) with a sex worker on 27 Sept 13, on 29 Sept I felt severe itching in my groins and irritation in anus. I took 750 mg Azithromycin 29 sept night followed by 250 mg Azithromycin with 400 mg cefixime on 30 Sept morning. I waited for 24 hours The symptoms didn't resolve rather I started having severe irritation after peeing.
I have no pain when urinating. I have been to the doctor and have taken Ampicillin, metronidazole, Acyclovir, ketoconazole in that order. I recently went to the Dermatoligist and he gave me Cloderm to apply to the infected area. Now it is spreading down the penis. Because of the results I stopped taking pep but I stated getting intense vagina itching and a weird smell. I took a single dose of 2,000mg metronidazole 2 days ago and it stopped the itching for a few hours but then it came back in full force. I have lower back pain as well and also before this I did have a yeast infection but my yeast infections never burn and itch this bad. I also had an early and heavy period. Could this be from taking a plan b or from stopping the pep medicine?
