For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).

the fluconazole seems to have taken care of the yeast infection I was diagnosed with. i feel much better and I do not have the burning sensation that i described last time anymore. got back some new results that i wanted to share with you. one week post unprotected exposure to someone positive for genital herpes igG herpes 1 --- 5.12 IgG herpes 2 <0.91 (i have had cold sores since i was a kid so i knew that the herpes 1 would be positive) 2 weeks post exposure igG herpes 1--- 5.

I love the attitude on here can I ask a random question I just got my first yeast infection and told my dad about it (that was an akward convo) and I have been taking amoxocilin for a tooth infection so I called my dentist office and told them and they called in a perscription in for the yeast infection itself its called fluconazole its one pill taken oraly. Have any of you heard of it? I took it 2 days ago and am wondering when it will start to show signs of recovery.
Chlamydia doesn't explain your symptoms. First, your tests were negative, and metronidazole (Flagyl) or fluconazole (Diflucan) would not affect those test results. Second, the brief contact you describe carried little or no risk. Third, amoxicillin is pretty active against chlamydia; you are unlikely to be infected by someone taking that drug for the previous week. To your specific questions: 1) No, the antibiotics are not the reason for your negative chlamydia tests.
I applied this for a week until the doctor phoned to say pseudomonas was present from the swab. I was then put on amoxicillin tablets, metronidazole tablets and metronidazole topical gel for 10 days. After 10 days there was no cure so I attended the STD clinic. All tests came back negative although the doc then gave me more hydrocortisone cream which I used for 2 weeks. I've also taken a single fluconazole capsule.
So, she put me on Metronidazole pills 2x a day for 7 days and Metronidazole gel every night injected into the vagina. then the side effects started. Constant headache, dizziness and feeling terrible. Went off the pills after 3 days since these side effects are listed on the paperwork. But continued with the gel. One more night to go and today the burning is back again. It's never been terrible burning, just uncomfortable.
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. they continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
and I know this sounds gross but it tastes sour too, it also causes some itching and irritation in my vagina. I have been prescribed a treatment of one pill of fluconazole 150 mg and 2 pills of tinidazole 1g each. Didn't work, then I tried a treatment of vaginal ovules for 7 days of clyndamicin and ketoconazole, didnt work either...I've been doing research and this sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis, I've had yeast infections before and the discharge is much thicker and it itches more.
I ask this question because my wife has been diagnosed with trichamonas and made the only logical conclusion with these facts that I cheated on her and passed on the infection. Thing is, I haven't been unfaithful and have had myself checked and show clear. My assumption from her medication is that her doctors have no idea what the actual infection is, because otherwise they would treat her for that infection, not every other infection under the sun?
I was swabbed, and they were swabbed. I was prescribed Metronidazole for the BV, fluconazole for the yeast infection, then the Azithromycin for the STD, is taking all of these medications harmful?
I have been on Coumadin for most of the last two years following two episodes of clots in my right leg. My INR varied between 1.8 and 2.4 and most often was between 2.0 and 2.2. In those two years may other medications, my diet, and level of exercise remained mostly the same. My Coumadin dose was 5mg four days a week and 7.5mg three days a week for most of the two years. Now my INR has suddenly jumped up. Yesterday it tested at 4.9, so my doctor had me retested today and it was 4.3.
is the vaginal infection thrush ? coz if so thats fungus not bacteria and antibiotics wont help that 1 dose of fluconazole will tho .
This would also happen if I masturbated and didn't practice good hygiene. My GP said it was yeast/fungal and gave me 150Mg of fluconazole and some cream and said it would clear up in a week. It's been a week and my symptoms improved but have not gone away. the red/swollen meatus is still there and there is still a little redness in my foreskin (the part is located near the opening when folded over when flacid).
Was treated for a yeast infection on Apr. 23 with fluconazole and CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE (no help). On May 6 I noticed 2 small white (with red rimmed) spots on my vagina (they did not hurt). Went to the doctor on May 7 she looked and said it was herpes. She did not swab but said take Acyclovir and get retested. In 3 days the spots (while taking Acyclovir) were gone never crusted or anything they just went away but all the other symptoms stayed.
the doctor gave me metronidazole which is anti-infective medication. It isn't working and I fear my symptoms are gettting worse. It started with a mild itch above my righ eye in the morning. By the next day it had spread to both cheeks with some puss form the lesions. Could it be the same fungus from the groin? I don't think it is the rosacea the doctor is treating because of its overnight spread. Swelling seems to be spreading and the metronidazole doesn't seem to be helping.
the results came I had a yeast infection, Bacterial Vaginitis (gardnella), and Strep B. She put me on Ampicillin, Metronidazole Vaginal Gel, then I had to take a series of fluconazole pills after the antibiotics. I finished all that got retested this Monday and I called my dr today for the results and it all came back negative. But even though the tests came back negative I don't feel like normal down there.
i have been given Gynazole (sp), miconazole, metronidazole, flagyl, fluconazole, and have also tried tioconazole, to no avail. So I stopped going to doctors for it. But now I want to get an IUD, and I am wondering if the IUD can be inserted during the presence of a yeast infection? I know certain infections are contraindications, but are yeast infections? I don't think they can spread to the cervix/uterus.
I was prescribed fluconazole and metronidazole. I just finished my 10-day doses and I do feel a lot better. the groin pain is no more (thank the lord above). My throat still feels as if I swallowed something and its stuck. My next appointment is January 7th and I was told if I still had this problem she would send me to an ENT. I still have a slight burning feeling in my stomach right before a bowel movement, but other than that things are getting better.
