the reason i think it may be is the brown discharge started right after i took the flagyl which they say can a lot of times cause yeast infections and it has been itchy down there, and then the brown discharge. IS it possible 2 have the brown spotting and not a period, if it is a yeast infection??? i was checked 4 the stds like i had said be4 not too long before i started the flagyl.
The infection is in my vagina and I have no symptoms except for a clear/ yellow- beigeish/ light green discharge; thin to thick and stringy/ slimy like a huge booger : it changes through out the month... It does have a smell and it's musty but never fishy at all... It's not an std (because I am a virgin), yeast infection or BV. I've already taken pills for UTI, BV and yeast infection with no relief.

Hello, Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina. The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner. In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.

Well when I first went to the doctor the gave me I think it was flagyl and It worked for two days no discharge & no odor so then my period came and after my period it came back, I have went to the store and got a (vagisil screening kit for vaginal infections and the pH test came back 6.0 the first time couple months later I did it again for 2 time it was 6.5 on the ph test guide it says if it's 5.0 or greater it could be (BV or Trich) i went to the doctors and they said it was negative.
In the last 3 months I have been to the doc 3 times because of a clear discharge and slight burning when I pee. The Dr. diagnosed me with non-infectious urethritis and cured me with doxy. It reoccurred 3 weeks later. The second time she diagnosed me with UTI. Cirpo cured it this time. It's back again. I am pending another urine test before she gives me more treatment. Let me make it clear I do NOT have an STD per her diagnosis and neither does my gf. She also referred me to an urologist.
So I saw the doctor and he diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis even though my discharge has no odor. I began taking the metronidazole last night and about 2 hours after taking it my bladder pressure went from moderately annoying to severe. Any clue as to why this might be? Is there something else I might have that could be agitated by this antibiotic so quickly? I have read that BV is often misdiagnosed and I hope that hasnt happened here.
I'm 32 week's pregnant and my obygn prescribed me metronidazole gel but 2days later I started having cottage cheese like discharge. I now have all of the same symptoms for the last week plus a white discharge now I also have been getting hot and sweaty flushes too. But I have had them on and off for the last 4 months since my first test.
10 red cells 10-50 epithelial cells moderate I went back and had the test done again yesterday as I have both soreness and discharge and have been retested again. Hopefully the results should be back on Friday.
Again, it's much better but is still quite itchy and i have been taking the metronidazole for 5 of the 7 days.... If it were BV would it have cleared by now? I know you will tell me to get tested but i live in a very small village and am scared stiff because i know all of the doctors and they know my family. The only symptoms i have are; itchy vagina, no abnormal discharge or smell, i pee alot but not sure if that is a mental thing... Any advice you could offer will help me so much.

I went to see my Gyno on 4/16 and was prescribed metronidazole 500mg and Fluconazole 150 mg tablets. After treatment, my symptoms did not stop or lessen. I then was prescribed Clindamycin 2% vaginal cream 40gm on 5/3. After treatment, my symptoms still exists. Occasionally I will have sharp pelvic pains, like horrible cramping. It does not last long and is not constant. I've only been sexually active with my husband, no one else. Since March, I have been bleeding after intercourse.
However, I can't say whether this might be causing your discharge. metronidazole and other antibiotics can trigger yeast infections, but the main symptom of yeast is itchy irritation, not discharge. Up to 20% of women with trich also have gonorrhea or chlamydia, and every woman with trich needs to be tested for those infections. If not tested, or if your discharge persists, return to your health care provider for further evaluation.
There are many other causes of vaginal discharge (fungal infection, bacterial vaginosis etc) which cause a foul smelling discharge and an itch. It could just be due to infection which will go away on its own or an allergic reaction of the latex of the condom causing profuse discharge. At times condom slips into the vagina and acts as a source of infection and discharge. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!

Could it be that the Plan B pill caused all that discharge? Like ovulation discharge gone awry? And maybe the itch was just from all the discharge? Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the antibiotic I received before. I am having a pap smear to rule out HPV and I'll have them check again for BV and yeast. Other than that, not sure what else to do.
