The doctor prescribed me a mega dose of the metronidazole and said I should feel better in 24 hours. I did NOT feel better in 24 hrs I waited a week because everything online kept telling me the symptoms could take a week to subside but when they didn’t I called my doctor and she prescribed me another mega dose. This one did absolutely nothing but make my symptoms worse my cervix hurt so bad.
Perhaps ask for swobs before you start taking it, iv been back doctors today and they say don't take it
I was prescribed it last week for a bacterial infection. Took it 4 times and my face started to break out in a rash. Called the pharmacist and then the doctor. Both said i was having an allergic reaction to the medicine. Both said to stop taking it. I go to the doctor next week to ddiscuss other options. So just watch out for that.....

Eight weeks ago, i had unprotected sex with an ex-girlfriend, and two days after that i saw thick yellow discharge from the tip of my penis. i immediately went to a GP and he gave me co-amoxiclav 1g twice a day for a week. after the course the infection was still there, and i went to another doctor, who gave me a shot of ceftriaxone 1g iv, azithomycin 1g which i took in one dose, and ofloxacin, 300mg for 10 days, after we found out that i had clap.
I have white discharge from my vagina and white discharge underneath my clitoral hood. And my vagina has a pungent odour. My clitoris feels like it is tingling or throbbing all the time. I started taking metronidazole and a probiotic supplement called enterogermina. After the first dose of both metronidazole and enterogermina I started having urgency to pee. I feel like I have to pee frequently. My urine does not have a strong odour and it is not cloudy and has a normal light straw colour.
Right now im on metronidazole and doxycycline. And its giving me now 3 days diarrhea. Its making me feel sick. I really wnna stop the medication but im afraid it might get worse on the future, i think the meds (antibiotics) making me feel weak.
I was dating a guy for awhile who had a vasectomy. I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
A bit more detail if needed - doctor told me I had BV and prescribed the Metronidazole gel for 5 days. I finished using the gel on Sunday Oct 2. My symptoms seemed to be going away. However, starting yesterday morning, I have been experiencing some itching as well as thick, cottage-cheese like discharge. I understand it is common to develop a yeast infection after metronidazole.
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
So just a quick question for all the women that have taken this before for bacterial vaginosis. So I started this a couple days ago and today I had a heavy amount of sticky discharge. This isnt normal for me. So I was wondering if this has happend to anyone else. Is it just the antibiotic clearing the infection.

Vaginal discharge is a side effect of metronidazole gel which is present in 12% of the patients. If the discharge persists or there is any vulvar irritation or itching then you should get it evaluated from your gynecologist.

8-31-2011- I went to Std clinic where I was given Metronidazole and I left a urine sample. I had made the appointment one week earlier and that was the earliest that they could see me and since I still had symptoms I made sure to go back. I stopped taking Ciprofloxacin on this day, per the advice of the Doctor at the clinic, and started taking Metronidazole twice a day for 7 days which I am currently taking.
s normal for BV to be resistant to metronidazole? Or is there something else this could be? Aside from smell and brown discharge, my urine has appeared cloudy at times, though not always. Thank you!
Last year in October I got Trichomoniasis from my ex. I took the antibiotic metronidazole to get rid of it. All my symptoms went away, the itching, green discharge, burning, all of it. Annoyingly enough now every time I get my period, I start itching really bad. No weird discharge or bumps just really itchy vagina. It happens every time, around the same time of the month. I have never had this problem before the trichomoniasiss. Has this happened to anyone else? Could the std have came back.
I went to see my Gyno on 4/16 and was prescribed Metronidazole 500mg and Fluconazole 150 mg tablets. After treatment, my symptoms did not stop or lessen. I then was prescribed Clindamycin 2% vaginal cream 40gm on 5/3. After treatment, my symptoms still exists. Occasionally I will have sharp pelvic pains, like horrible cramping. It does not last long and is not constant. I've only been sexually active with my husband, no one else. Since March, I have been bleeding after intercourse.
1st was 18 year 2007 it only happened once and the next time i had sex was when i was 21 years old year 2009 and that was the time my bf complained about having discharge and after a week i noticed my discharge too. so im trying to figure out where did i get this somekind of infection or whatever from the first encounter and ive been carrying it for years or from my 2nd bf.Thanks guys. Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. It is caused by a change in the type of bacteria found in the vagina.
The exact cause for the change in type of bacteria is still not known, but it is can be due to IUD’s,multiple sex partners or having intercourse with a new partner.
In addition to unpleasant "fishy" vaginal odor, thin white or yellowish discharge from vagina may also be present.
so we got tested for chlamydia/candida/ureaplasma/mycoplasma and also they cultured the semen and vaginal discharge. Doctor said I got mycoplasma and ureaplasma . Also he said that there were Gardrenalla on the plate. For my bf he said he got only ureaplasma. Also we had antibiograms for them and with the doctors advice used azitromycin 500 mg ( 1000 mg at first day 500 mg at following 4 days). Doctor said that I should use metronidazole for harder Ella as I finish the azithromycin.
About 6 months ago, I noticed that I had discharge and dysuria and came to the conclusion that I had urethritis. Thinking that it was caused by an std,I want to the doctor who gave me a ceftriaxone injection and put me on ciprofloxacin pills for 3 days.
The symptoms went down drastically but they never completely went away.

5 months ago), I started observing small amounts of yellowish, rather on the thicker side, discharge from my penis. Also, there was an tingly-itching, and slightly burning sensation in my urethra, closer to the end of the shaft of the penis, right where it connects with the head. There was no other symptoms present: no swelling or pain in the testes, no redness of the tip of the penis, etc.
