I'm taking antibiotics, including Metronidazole 500mg for h.pylori. I was at my sister's wedding last night and took 2 glasses of bubbly to toast with the guests, and then switched to water all night (being under the impression that antibiotics just worsen the impact of the alcohol so this is why you shouldn't drink). About 6-7 hours later I started feeling really unwell (nausea, frequent washroom trips, flushed skin)..
Alas, by december 2007 I started to experience panic attacks and intense anxiety symptoms again and couldnt go to work. I gave up alcohol and got put back on another antidepressant (mirtazapine). This worked but had pretty bad side effects. I soon started to notice the return of gastritis symptoms. Over 2008 I experiemented with serveral antidepressants which all gave me horrible side effects, I ended up on a low dose of a tricyclic, dosulepin.
I’ve been prescribed metronidazole. I am to take two tablets a day for 7 days and was advised not to have sex or drink alcohol while taking the medication. I had one of the pills today (day was almost over when I picked up the medication from the pharmacy) and the last day, I will only have one more left. I will be seeing him while I have to take the last 3 pills. Two on one day and one on the last.
Would it be okay to have sex on either of those days, with a condom?
I also had a question for you. How long will you be taking the Metronidazole and what tests did your doctor run in diagnosing you with BV? The reason I ask is because I have symptoms very similar to BV however every Dr. I go to suggest that I don't have it.
can post nasal drip cause a white coating on the back of the tongue? i brush and floss pretty regularly, but for a few months i've noticed a whitish coating on the back of my tongue. it doesn't look like thrush at all. sorry for the grossness, but mucus also collects at the back of my tongue. i have a long history of allergies and sinus issues but i've never really had a coating this prominent before. does anyone know what it is or how to clear it up?

well i been diagnosed with trichomonas vaginalis and the doctor gave me 2 grams of metronidazole as a single dose and a vaginal cream called clotrimazole (3 days). but since i used the metronidazole i had dark urine, i had and upset stomach i couldn't eat or drink anything because i will throw up. it's been 2 day and i don't have the upset stomach but i still have the dark urine how long is it gonna take before the dark uring goes away?
I’ve been on my second day of Metronidazole and I drank a little bit of wine today. The concentration is 10 percent and I had it mixed with juice, should that be enough to cause any side effects?
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
After, I was really worried if either of this (sexual intercourse or the oral sex) would affect my treatment of the BV at all or have an impact on the metronidazole working and its effectiveness? Is it advisable to avoid sex during the course of taking the metronidazole?
BTW I don't have any symptoms of BV anymore though (although I am still continuing to take the medicine).
When I found out that I had trich, I bought Metronidazole and took 2grams (1 dosage) of it. Metronidazole made me feel really sick! Anyway, after a week I realized that I still had trich. Exactly the same symptoms were still there. So, I took Tinidazole.. a 2g dose. When will this take effect? I took tinidazole after I had dinner and went to sleep right away so that I won't feel the side effects of which I had when I took Metronidazole.
The doctor gave me Metronidazole pills to take to treat Trich and should told me i couldnt have any alcohol 3 days before and after takin the pills including the alcohol in mouthwash bc it was cause a bad stomach ache. i was also wondering if this included my toothpaste which has mouthwash beads? Or is regular toothpaste better or not good either?
The doctor prescribed me a mega dose of the metronidazole and said I should feel better in 24 hours. I did NOT feel better in 24 hrs I waited a week because everything online kept telling me the symptoms could take a week to subside but when they didn’t I called my doctor and she prescribed me another mega dose. This one did absolutely nothing but make my symptoms worse my cervix hurt so bad.
After 2 months, took metronidazole and diarrhea went away but still had bad nausea and started to develop other symptoms-chest pain (left and right sided) and severe back pain. They did all kinds of tests and finally a HIDA scan showed that my gallbladder had 0% ejection fraction (basically was not working). They scheduled me for surgery and when it was taken out, found no signs of disease or stones, just a bit of sludge built up from it not working.
Even seemingly healthy people who have not been on antibiotics recently can unfortunately acquire C. diff from someone who has the problem. Lostnlove, it would be a good idea to call your doc's office and discuss how you should disinfect surfaces, and how you might want to protect yourself from acquiring the disease. If your daughter isn't working with an infectious disease doc, you may want to consider asking your doc to refer you to one.

Hi guys, as the title says, has anyone tried Metronidazole and had some relief from PATM ?

It could be a UTI, prostatitis, irritation from alcohol and dehydration from the alcohol and flying, or a host of other things, including an STI if you suspect your wife of going outside the marriage, but honestly, the only way you'll know is to see your doctor, get an exam and do some testing.
If you take the metronidazole, and it doesn't work (which it likely won't), you could end up screwing up your testing.
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
