Since you are at the tail end of your therapy anyway, you could probably get away with using the gel at night before bed and the gel during the day although it is not ideal, it is probably good enough.

it's not unusual at all for bv to come back over and over again. continue to be seen every time you have discharge for proper testing. if the oral treatment for bv isn't working for you, ask your provider for the vaginal metrogel instead. it's been shown to alter the vagina's ph and keep bv away longer than the pills do. do you have a regular partner? do you use condoms?

I took the a 3 day monistat suppository & when that finished I took the metro gel for BV medicine. Should I have waited to take the BV medicine since now I getting a white clumpy discharge? If left there too long it seems to irritate to me. Do I need to retreat the yeast or will it clear once I finish the metrogel??

You shouldn't put anything into your vagina like that. It's going to promote growth of ANY bacteria that can use that for a food source, which may or may not include your good bacteria, which could cause an imbalance of your normal vaginal flora. Also, don't put hydrogen peroxide up there or wash with soap. Go see a doctor to treat it and ask if there is anything you can do to prevent it from coming back. Yogurt should only be used to eat.

t want to worry you but you need to be careful with prolonged use of doxycycline. My daughter was on that for 1 year for acne. Her copper level is 3 times higher then what is acceptable. Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
