metrogel

Also, she was on Metrogel (they thought she had acne rosacea) and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus).
My girlfriend, 25 years old has a very strong vaginal odor, she has gotten tested for STDS and infections and everything came out negative. She does have an IUD and has had it for 3 years. The odor is strongest while intercourse. She does not itch or burn. There are no other side effects associated with the smell.
I've tried almost everything and it works for a short period of time. I am currently using tea tree oil soap and and the oil drops to regular cleansing shampoo. I also get adult acne and have combination skin! I'm a mess! LOL If you want, please email me at ***@**** and we can compare what we've tried....there has to be something out there!
Be VERY careful if your doctor prescribed anything with cortisone in it for your face except for maybe a very short period like two weeks, and even then, only very occasionally. Some doctors will NEVER prescribe cortisone for the face, even the 1% hydrocortisone you can get at the drug store. Definitely find out what is in the cream you've been prescribed and see another derm before using it, especially since your symptons seem to have changed some.
Hi can someone plz help Since my last period my vagina smells like rotting dead meat or a dead animal who has been left In the sun to rot for weeks. Everytime me and my boyfriend make love I notice brown liquid coming out of my vagina and the smells makes the paint of my walls melt. My boyfriend in the shower and And almost puked.
Is very brown, almost black, vaginal blood normal? I am 41 and my recent pap smear came back normal. However, just finished treatment using metrogel for an infection.
The thing I'm worried about is that the site says that LB and CV are always cyclic - the symptoms are worse just before your period and then they disappear during your period. Do you know if that is always the case? Because my symptoms don't deem to be related to my cycle - they certainly don't disappear with my period. So could it still be LB or CV? I just want these horrible symptoms to go away!!
Dear Doctor Rockoff, 3 months ago I posted a question - "Rosacea vs. skin irritation". I've been using MetroGel for 3 months, but can see only a very slight improvement. Actually, my eruptions fluctuate as before - sometimes I have clear face, sometimes red bumps and tiny whiteheads (pustules?) appear on my cheeks.
About 6 months ago I was at work and went to the bathroom and did my business when i wiped it hurt and burned so bad so I looked at the toilet paper and there was blood. I knew I wasn't on my period so I immediatly freaked and called my GP. I got an appointment the same day. He said it looked like some kindof skin fungus and gave me this cream:Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropoinate Cream. This made it go away. I went on with my daily business and it came back even worse.
If the infection did not respond to the medication prescribed, it is possible that the organism responsible is resistant to the medicine and further tests may need to be done, shift in medication or longer treatment period may be done. Talk to your doctor about this for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
Also, she was on Metrogel and she was allergic to it and it gave her second degree burns. She has healed from that but wonders if there are any prolonged affects of a problem like that. Lastly, she was on a steroid (diprolene) for years for the face (lupus). After the bad burns from the Metrogel, and it healed the dermatologist took her off of the steroid cold turkey and said to just use certain creams until the breakouts from the steroid went away.
The other issue is she is having extremly heavy menstrual bleeding during her period since the BV and Herpes diagnosis as well and she is conatnatly complaining about fatigue headache and back pain. (she has been overworking lately _ I do not know how much of her complaints are due to this situation). My question is - can this be PID due to the BV or even Gonorea - their can not be a possble chance of Chlamidya based on only the Oral that I received.
I use a CPAP machine and have a skin problem at the contact parts of my face around and on the nose. Neither a steroid cream or Metrogel has cleared it up over a long period of time.

Diagnosis can be confirmed after pelvic examination and microscopic examination of the vaginal discharge. Treatment is by metronidazole((Flagyl, MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin) which are available under prescription. They are available as pills or vaginal gels or creams. Please do not use any vaginal douches. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
I just got a call from Dr.'s office my 4 week pcr came back UND. I cried and then called everybody I knew. I was symptom free for 2days and now BV is back. Today is my last day of my period and I know that I have to restart my metrogel treatment. I also notice that before my period, the corners of my mouth will be cut and the tailbone will itch. I am worried about the HIV infection. Anyone with these symptoms? I know that they say that repeated infections are signs of HIV. I am so scared. Doctor, please give me your opinion.
When I spoke to a nurse she said that I should have never been prescribed metrogel while on my period and I should be fine if I used it for five days, she also said the clumpy paper like discharge was normal, that it was the medicine coming out. When I take a rubber glove and check myself I still see bits of blood is this my left over period or could this be something else. I'm freaked because it's ruining my sex life and my relationship because I'm constantly stressing over it.
My doctor advised me to treat it with Monistat just in case. It didn't go away and so he gave me metrogel (after negative tests!) to try just in case. Well, 10 months later I am still having this irritation. It gets worse the first few days after my period ends. I am 40 years old. My cycle went from 28 days on the mark to 26 days, and now I am down to every 23 days. But, my doctor says that because I am still having my period, it can't be low estrogen.
you can also use metrogel while on your period. if you get thick clumpy discharge a few days after using the metrogel - that is normal too. It's clumps of bacteria leaving your body. you need to stop all self treatment except for the fem dophilus at this point. You also shouldn't wear panty shields or use tampons. both can lead to vaginitis. this isn't a symptom of herpes to have discharge all the time.
Then the doctor prescribed valtrex, metrogel, and diflucan. I then asked if we could take blood work because I've been told a visual examination is not adequate or reliable. He argued that would do it but that it was a waste of time because they are faulty. I then asked what if my results indicate that I am negative? and he said "I still say you are positive" I was so discouraged.
Hi Topical corticosteroids are used for treatment of eczema. When they are ineffective, the doctor may consider prescribing more potent corticosteroids for some period, in adults with eczema on the scalp, limbs, and trunk or those with chronic/ lichenified eczema. Newer two topical eczema drugs like pimecrolimus (Elidel Cream) and tacrolimus (Protopic Ointment) are reserved only for cases where corticosteroids have not been effective.

I am 51 yrs old and have not had a period in almost 2 yrs. lately I have noticed some milky white discharge and that was about it. then having sex 2 weeks ago using a latex condom at which I am allergic to gave me issues. I went to see a nurse practionor and she gave me some metrogel to use for 5 nights and two days later I had a small amount of spotting of blood so I go back and she said it was coming from my uterus and scheduled a transvaginal sonogram for this Thursday. I am so scared.
I never had a fishy smell( Only when I'm on my period- which is not normal either.) I went back again and my gyno said that they did not see BV but there was yeast, I was given the prescription yest meds, took it and still no improvement. This is so frustrating and I honestly don't think this can be my " natural" smell... When the meds worked for the 1 day I had a sweet/ musky smell. According to my research, that is what's normal. Anyone know what this could be ? Thanks!
) You ought to stop the medicine and contact your dermatologist. If minocycline is the most likely cause--and frankly, no other one springs to mind--then over a period of months the pigment should go away. The dermatologist can prescribe medicine for it if needed. Best. Dr.

In the beginning of May I experinced some usual vaginal discharge and itchiness and I went to the doctor and I was told I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was given Metrogel 0.
So over the past two months I've been in and out of my clinic for abnormal vaginal discharge. Over that two month period, I've had tests for various STIs (including Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, which my gynecologist thought were the prime suspects) and for bacterial infections. All the tests have come back negative. But, what's really upsetting, is that there's a ton of white blood cells in my discharge (along with a few clue cells) so there's obviously something wrong down there.
