Avatar m tn In the hospital, they put me on IV and kept me for 4 hours and gave me a Metoprolol Succ (25 mg) pill. During my stay, I had an episode where my heart went from 80 to 120 in a matter of 1 minute...I was looking at the heart monitor. The nurses didn't respond to that and I was going crazy trying to get their attention. A nurse came and said not worry. They kicked me out after an hour and said I was OK. I have been on Metoprolol succinate 25 mg, twice a day since October.
1717715 tn?1318297295 Hey guys, I take Metoprolol SUCC ER 50 mg once a day for what they THINK is mostly just inappropriate sinus tachycardia and a bit of anxiety that probably grew from that. At normal, my hair was probably the richest and thickest you would have ever seen but now, its getting oily much quicker, and has gotten SEVERELY more thin and light. I'm only 22 and good hair genes runs in my family, its not like im genetically pre-disposed to hair loss. Does anyone think it can be the medication?
Avatar m tn I am quitting Metoprolol Succ cold turkey because after being on it for five weeks, my heart rate and blood pressure have been good, but I had an anxiety attack so bad it sent me to the ER yesterday. After takiing 325 mg of baby asprin I went home fine. I am feeling withdrawals today, but my blood pressure is down. I developed severe insomnia and anxiety, and severe tingling in all my extremeties. It is hard to get in to see my doctor but I will ASAP.
Avatar f tn Thanks for responding! I’m taking the Metoprolol succ er. Not sure what the difference is from the Tartrate. I am only taking it once a day. My bp read that low yesterday around 6 pm when I had taken it at 7am. I’m not sure if it helps too much with slowing down my heart because it still gets up over 100 and higher easily just walking around my house.
Avatar f tn I am on 200 MG of Metoprolol Succ er! The Pharmacist at CVS gave this to me instead of the Toprol-xl my Doctor had prescribed. I think the dosage is too big and I have had more trouble with the pill than without. I took myself off it for a while, to get some sleep and to stop the headaches. The CVS Pharmacist gave it to me AFTER the drug was recalled. It is the big pills that they are talking about.
Avatar m tn detected by a Holter monitor two days ago prompted my cardiologist to take me off metroprolol succ er (50 mg. tablet once a day) cold turkey, pending further evaluation. What withdrawal symptoms, if any, might I experience in the coming days?
Avatar m tn New cardio. was on atenolol 25 mg 2x daily for aortic valve disorder, but had issues of impotence and very very low heart rate, as well as numerous palpitations. Cardio swithced me to metoprolol xl 25mg 1x daily. my heart rate has gone from the high 50's to the high 80's from yesterday to today. Is this normal? I believed that the xl on the metoprolol was extended release, and that the dosage should do the same thing as far as hr and bp. by has gone from 116/68 to 138/89.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on Suboxone 8mg daily, my doctor just gave me metoprolol succ. 25mg. I've been tachycardic ranging from 110-150 so she wants to slow my heart rate and pressure but I'm terrified to take the medication because of interaction and slowing my heart too much. What do I do?
Avatar m tn I have suffered with taking diltiazem(180 mg ER) AND metoprolol (50 mg ER) for atril fibrillation for the past two and a half years. The side effects have been debilitating.. Both drugs have the same side effects and together and one or the other or both create what I can only describe as chaotic turbulence in my chest and pain in my left arm when the second drug kicks in.. My cardiolgist now wants me to add a blood thinner (xarelto) to my meds menu.
Avatar m tn I particularly notice difficulty with speaking, searching for simple words, or names, some tiredness. Also, since beginning Metoprolol Tart, 50 mg.(probably 4 years ago) taken 2 times daily, I have had three episodes of severe nausea with vomiting coming on suddenly. When I went to ER my bp was in the area of 190/105. Most recent episode in mid-March. Fine the next day except for mild tiredness. ER doctors have diagnosed as either an anxiety attack, or most recently, Vertigo. B.P.
Avatar f tn just wondering if i can drink while taking metoprolol succ er 25mg? when is the best time to take this med? I have just been given this rx for anxiety....which I have never had issues with before, but my doctor seems to think I am mistaken heart issues for anxiety attacks....any advice, someone can give me it is scary, and i feel like I am having heart issues.feeling tingly in hands, very panicy, sweaty, and left side of my chest uncomfortable, and if I get worried it gets worse...
Avatar n tn s , panic attacks. Should I be worried about blockages? I am losing my mind. I am on Metropolol, 50 mg 2x a day, prilosec for acid reflux, and xanax for stress..
Avatar n tn I think the anxiety could have been due to health anxiety related to a spinal headache or a reaction to a z-pack, which I had never used before. On my second visit to the ER, they prescribed 50 mg of metoprolol tartrate twice per day. Now my doctor wants me to take an SSRI to help the anxiety. I tried 50 mg of Zoloft but had severe nausea and anxiety the first day and stopped it. Now my doctor has prescribed 10 mg.
Avatar m tn I take atenolol 25 mg for fast heart rate and while in ER, they gave me 50 mg Lopressor (which I believe is metoprolol), one time dose of Lopressor. About a day or two later, I woke up in middle of night with elevated blood pressure and somewhat tachycardia. The blood pressure was higher than what I was used to and I attributed it to not receiving any more Lopressor. It took me about 5 days to not feel affect of Lopressor, and I only took one dose. BP hit 158/100, high for me.
214864 tn?1229715239 d actually like to persue going after the manufacturer , KV Pharmaceuticals, for not taking responsibility that their metoprolol succinate ER 50 MG is a dangerous drub. Please contact me on on my email: ***@****.
Avatar m tn I was taking Metoprolol 100 mg. twice daily but was getting too tired from this so my cardiologist changed it to 50 mg. 4 times a day. I'm still getting the same dose but it is spread out so I'm not having as many side effects from it. It is more of a pain having to take it this way but it does work better for me. So I think there are different ways of taking it but check with your cardiologist first.
Avatar m tn Since my pace maker, difib implant, I started using metoprolol succ er. When we changed to bisoprolol I have experienced ankle pain, now severe knee pain, and pain in implant area when trying to do bench presses. We have changed back to metoprolol starting today. Befeore implant I could run 25 miles a week without pain. Ater implant abot 10 -15 miles a week, less miles, slower pace with added days to rest in between. This is the first time I am experiencing pain ever. what should I do?.
Avatar f tn I started Biking doing 60 miles a week after two years of Biking I started getting PVCSI have had them on and off I started feeling bad shortness of breath went to the Heart Doctor first put me on Metoprolol SUCC ER 25 MG did not help I was taking Potassium with Magnesium also still not feeling well went to pick up RX and was told your Doctor changed your Potassium to KLOR- CONM20 he said it was the same as Potassium still feeling bad worst went back to Doctor now he put me on FLECAINIDE50 MG t
Avatar m tn He did an Echocardiogram and gave me a Holter monitor. The Echo came out o.k., but the Holter showed 38,000 PACs per day. I am taking 50 mg of Metoprolol ER a day. That did not eliminate the PAC's, but I only have 22,000 per day now - so I keep on taking it.
Avatar n tn I was struggling with side effects from Cardiezem and asked to have my medicine changed, so I was put on 50 mg Metroprolol Tartrate per day, but began to suffer some nasty side effects--headaches, dizziness, nausea, abdominal cramps, lucid dreams, runny nose, and my heart rate dropped from 75-85 bpm to 45 to 55 bpm's depending on what I was doing. When I would sleep it dropped into the low 40's, and I couldn't focus at work, couldn't exercise.
21064 tn?1309308733 and a healthy dose...50 mg in the morning..and 50 mg at night. I have read posts here where people really have trouble with it, but I just love it. It keeps my heartrate down---and (most...well...some..) of the time it helps with the palpitations. I had some dizziness when I first started taking it, but thats it. Not one other side effect. I was also on Lipitor a year ago...It really worked, and I had zero side effects from that. Hope this helps!
