The symptoms i had started to devolop just over 2 years ago after i had some sort of cardiac event after recreational cocaine use (which i have now ceased to use) . I was never diagnosed as having a mi but they did say my corany arteries where in spasm on my left ventricle. Since that event i begun to have tachycardia symptoms frequently along with bradycardia symptoms, drs put this down to anxiety and put me on 80 mg of propanoyl.
Does oxycontin as recreational use exhibit symptoms of indifference and apathy and unconcern over everyday obligations and responsibilities which prior to use were contradictory to the persons character. In other words a complete change of personally untecogisable by loved ones?
To joke about some one considering taking cocaine for recreational use who has had three bypass surgeries and is taking blood thinners is just a little reckless.

I have been having some strange symptoms since starting metoprolol as a migraine preventative. My head feels like it weighs a ton, and there is a lot of pressure up there, too. I've also been experiencing blurry vision and some concentration issues. I also take lithium, trazodone and neurontin and a rare xanax.
NOT FOR LONG...YOU MAY START OUT ONLY ON WEEKEND BUT IT WILL escalate. i used coke for 5 years heavily and i started out only on the weekends. before long it was everyday all day and every night all night. it is a horrible drug the eventually completely robs you of yourself.
I am, or should I say was, a recreational drug user. In the last two months I smoked pot regularly and took approx. 3 vicodin 10mg and 1 percocet 10mg to help with back pain from a car accident. I don't regularly use pain meds and am far from addicted, I am just so worried that those couple pills hurt my little one. :( help!
precha here, thanks Tom for your reply, and yes the practicioner is going very slowly, and so far no problems except a massive head ache, which I dealt with by using Heal and Sooth caps, and total relief. Great to get your reply, and yes I tried your med, but it failed to give me the desired results. GOD BLESS.
I got the generic form but the cost is very high. Can he switch to metoprolol and take 50mg in the am and 50mg in the pm?
It's not so much my libido that's dropped, it's that I've noticed that in the last year or so, I get aroused just fine, and can get an erection, but sometimes during sex I have trouble maintaining the erection. Not sure if that's just aging or metoprolol side effect. I'm 33 though, so not old. I asked the doctor about it and he said we could try Cardizem.
It is also recommended to dress warmly and avoid tobacco use. If it is necessary to discontinue metoprolol, its dosage should be reduced gradually over several weeks.

I would be interested in hearing their symptoms, what they have done about the anxiety, and all the details. My anxiety was brought on by recreational drug use and while I am much better, I still have a little ways to go.

Sorry I can't help as my experience is limited to Toprol and Metoprolol. But, if I may ask you a question: do I read it correctly that the Cardizem does a much better job of lower you heart rate than does a beta blocker?
( 100 times more than any antidepressant medication does ) the problem with this action in such an extreem manner is that after repeated use, your brain eventually stops producing very important neurotransmitters such as Serotonin, and Neurephineferine. The result is severe depression that can often be so bad that even powerful antidepressant medications can not return brain function back to normal.
You condition sounds too complicated for me to directly relate, but I can say Metoprolol has been in use for a long time by many people, it is safe. I do not mean from that it is "good" for your body in any sense other than reducing you heart symptoms...if it does that.
I take high dose Metoprolol (200 mg) a day, and it does have some side effects, especially in high dose...you didn't say way dose you are taking.

What has worked to get you back into a normal rhythm or to atleast bring you down from extremely fast beats?
For me (toporol) metoprolol givin in an IV brings my heart rate down but doesn't convert me. Adenosine is completely useless. I havent been shocked yet, im hoping that doesn't happen.
I tried bisoprolol (zebeta) 5mg oraly brought my heart rate down too much.. it was about 45bpm resting. So im back to 12.5mg metoprolol daily.
