I went from Hyper to Hypo in 2 weeks flat from large doses of anti-thyroid meds and continuously lived off Xanax and Beta Blockers. This contined for nearly a year after diagnosis and then one day (after 3 episodes of Atrial Fibrillation in 2 weeks) I decided that I had...had enough. I stormed into the Doctors and told him that if he didnt get my thyroid taken out, I was going to get the Butcher to take it out.
I am 31 years old now, take toprol xl, and xanax. I gave up on wasting my short life on trying to get rid of something that isnt going to go away, and isnt going to kill me. So I live life to the fullest, before its over, and before I realize all Ive done was waste the whole thing worrying about pvcs. If youve had all the tests (ekg, echo, ect.......
The family Dr. wants me ot take xanax he thinks I'm to strees out and hight anxiety Does any one take that for PVC? What natural things like fish oil can help. I had a friend who took it and said it made her heart race. Any one have any ideas. thanks I need help.
I was given Zoloft 25mg a day for two weeks, then 50mg a day, but was told they interact with Metoprolol and could cause the Metoprolol to build up in my system. Is there anything else I can take? I had to stop taking Xanax (as needed) because of the interaction with Amiodarone. Someone please help, I am losing it here. Thanks.
Grapefruit increases the plasma level of Xanax "making it stronger" I guess in theroy, it could maybe cause a OD, but Im not for sure if anything has been documented. Did your doc just swictch you totally, or is he doing a crossover regiment?
my husband takes metoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide. how did you feel before when you were taking the metoprolol? did you get dizzy?
) I never started the BB, and if it's true that metoprolol and clonazepam work synergistally, and that it would likely be harder to stop taking metoprolol later on, I'm probably better off without it. Again, thank you!
No doubt the initial side effects can be a real b*tch! Like Bubulous has said,,the sleep WILL indeed come. Please be careful with the Xanax, as it is habit forming. The best way to take Xanax is either only "as needed" (here and there, not daily) when anxiety is at its worst, or for short term periods of time, a few weeks to a month or less if possible.
I just have 15 years of a chronic pain and 7 surgeries. I've taken every medication and my brother was addicted to Xanax. It was awful, it changed him as a person and he finally went to detox and stopped taking it. He acted like your husband described so I responded based on your comment. All the best to you.
It's gotten to the point where I do not expose my chest/neck ever - and cover up whenever I can. I had read once that taking Niacinimide could help - and I've been taking about 1000mg of it for a few months, but am not seeing much improvement. Anyone with any help or suggestions I would REALLY appreciate it.
I think I/we can guess or prognose just as well or better than they can at times particularly if we know something about health and or ourselves and our own health. Never be afraid to speak up because I feel strongly that digestive tract problems are real and translate into other real nasty symptoms like this. Fortunately we can prevent much of this & need to prevent it from happening.
