Metoprolol and swollen ankles

Common Questions and Answers about Metoprolol and swollen ankles

toprol

Avatar m tn My cough, wheeze, pain etc has almost gone. I have immediately more energy and also no dizziness. My legs and ankles still hurt and I have tight calves. I hope my body returns to what it used to be. My palpitations and tachycardia settled a while back after being aggressively treated for iron deficiency anaemia. I would never have taken metoprolol if I knew the side effects I would experience. I wasn't given a choice or information. Hospital put me on it.
Avatar f tn My other symptoms include slightly swollen ankles at end of day and increased heart rate after eating, especially simple sugars. Thank you for any advice.
Avatar f tn How can I get my feet and ankles to go down.? They are swollen day and night and my feet are also swollen underneath.
Avatar f tn About a week ago I was hospitlaized for chest pains and swollen ankles. I had an echo and a cardio cath done to see if there were any blockages. To my surprise there was no blockages. the doctors placed me on meds for hypertention and gave me a water pill, I do not have the pain in my chest anymore but I still have the swelling in my ankles and it seems to be getting worse what could be going on?
Avatar f tn I am 21 weeks and already getting realy swollen ankles! I work full time as a nurse so I'm on my feet a lot. My blood pressure is stable and in a good range. Anyone else suffering from this??
Avatar f tn I work on my feet all day my ankles and feet have been swollen for months . Prop them up and drink lots of water and lower your sodium intake.
Avatar n tn Dear adofusgirlscoobers... in general when something is "not as usual as it used to", consultation to general practitioner in clinic (because it is related to your swelling ankles), or directly to a gynocologist (because the swelling ankles occure again in your period time). hopefully your worry becomes a new knowledge & solution to prepare all the things before it happen again. Well, some kind of recognizing our own phisical & health character.
1172209 tn?1263427216 When I took geodon and resperidon, both of those swelled my ankles up and my pdoc worried about fluid around my heart. So GOOOOO call your Pdoc and see him or her. Call your pharmicist! You could be in danger, not to worry you but swelling isn't normal. For me it took over six weeks for my ankles to get back to their pretty selves :). My chiropractor had me taking incredible amounts of water and vitamin c to help drain them. Just my thoughts and experience, hope you get help soon.
615166 tn?1282303497 My feet, ankles and lower legs tend to swell most days, especially if I'm up on my feet all day (at work for example). But the doctor isn't concerned. I puff up all day and piddle all night. Perhaps it's just my old blood vessels aren't working as well as they used to. Don't have varicose veins so who knows? I follow a low sodium diet just because it's the smart thing to do. Also learned more about it when my Dad was diagnosed with heart failure. Wanted to support him.
1293887 tn?1332702847 t see my ankles being those round balls on the side of your feet, does that mean my feet are swollen. I only just noticed it today and I really hope I am not swelling because I haven't had it with my other kiddies. I will take a picture and try and load it up. How can I make the swelling go down??
Avatar f tn I'm 37w4d and my ankles used to only swell by the end of the day too, now I wake up with swollen ankles & feet and it hurts to even walk. Putting my feet up doesn't help me.
408795 tn?1324935675 I've been having major problems with swollen ankles over and over. I am on a salt free diet and I eat as healthy as I possibly can. Does anyone else have the symptom of swelling and what do you do about it? My concern is that the area that swells is getting larger. One day last week my legs were swollen all the way up to my knees.
Avatar f tn i'm 34 weeks and have been experiencing swollen ankles even in the morning when I wake up is this normal?
1507909 tn?1313633804 Well...Don't completely avoid salt/sodium. Just make sure you get a healthy balance. Too much or too little can cause adverse effects in the body and make you quite ill. As the others suggested though, keep your legs elevated, keep hydrated, and definitely speak to your doctor about it.
Avatar f tn t worry about it too much, just try and elevate them as much as possible at work and when you get home, lay on your couch or bed and prop your feet up as high as you can and you will notice how quick the swelling goes down.

Avatar n tn i have a lump in both ankles, and a burning sensation and some pain in left one. incidentally i broke left foot last year. what could be the cause?
Avatar n tn My ankles have been swelling since May. I went to the doctor on June 4 and she said it was edema, and prescribed 20mg of furosemide daily. I have been taking the med since then, and even doubling the dose, and it still has not gotten rid of the swelling. My left ankle is usually worse. I think I need to seek further help because there must be something else wrong. I am not diabetic, but I do have high cholesterol. Please give me some advice.
Avatar f tn Just wondering if anyone else ever had these symptoms. Oh, and in the morning when I get out of bed and walk my ankles feel like they are burning, on fire.

6727262 tn?1384982855 Drink lots of water and most of all just sit back and put your feet up. I get my hubby to rub my ankles and it helps really fast, especially if they're sore.
1278093 tn?1294320384 I was a waitress when I was pregnant with my son, and was constantly swollen from the knee down. PLUS I ended up having to quit at 25 weeks because I was having a lot of braxton hicks contractions, and I had a jerk for a assistant manager, that's a whole other story. BUT at least make sure you're drinking enough water!

Avatar f tn For almost a week I've had swollen ankles off and on. My dr. Adjust my Coumadin levels but said my thyroid mess need adjusted and that I was dehydrated. Yesterday he started me on lasix but said nothing about the ankles. What could be causing this and should I insist he look Into this further?
Avatar f tn I have been on Coumadin for almost five months as I had a blood clot form in my heart, go through my artery and kill part of my small intestine. The past few days my ankles have been very swollen. They are normally boney, but now are like grapefruits. I'm also not real steady on my feet, occasionally I fall to the side, losing my balance. Do you think the Coumadin is causing the swelling?
