Avatar n tn I have frequent PVC's (often with bigeminy) and I also have lots of reflux problems. I have been getting a lot more PVC's the past couple of weeks. I switched from Toprol XL to generic Metoprolol, and I I don't know if that has had any affect. I have also had increased reflux issues during this time. I am getting more PVC's and bigeminy than normal and am noticing it most when I lean forward, especailly while eating. Does this sound like the PVC's are coming from reflux?
Avatar n tn my bun is 63 and my creatine is 8.02 and im 60 yrs. old.
Avatar m tn METOPROLOL, PLAVIX, COZAAR, ISOSOR MONO-SULFATE,VYTORIN, AND OF LATE, RANEXA. THIS LAST ONE, RANEXA, WORKS VERY WELL WITH ME IN STOPPING THE ANGINA I WAS GETTING WHICH WAS BECOMING ALMOST CHRONIC. IT ALLOWS ME TO EXERCISE AND FUNCTION ALMOST AS WELL AS BEFORE. HOWEVER, I REALLY LIKE TO EAT A !/2 GRAPERUIT IN THE MORNING AND THE MANUFACTURES SAYS YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE GRAPEFRUIT PRODUCTS WITH RANEXA. i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY. IS IT DANGEROUS IN THAT LIVER, KIDNEY OR OTHER ORGAN WOULD BE DAMAGED.
Avatar f tn If your urologist was correct that your malfunctioning kidney was the cause of your hypertension in the past and your kidney function to this day remains normal, it would seem there should be an excellent opportunity to get off of medication no longer necessary to your body. But there is another question- it is five years later now... have you advanced in that time into your senior years?
Avatar f tn Hey, I've got the same problem. Anxiety is terrible and been getting pvc's daily, is metoprolol a beta blocker? I took them for a couple of month but my pvc's didn't stop. My heart rate came down but I was worried that it came down to much. I started to feel about funky from them.. what you should try it's loads of fruit and vegetables. Bananas are good for a lot of things and one of them is a healthy heart.
1326572 tn?1275500911 My liver and blood count look great but my doc said my kidney function is slightly off. The creatinine is high at 1.09 and the GFR is low at 54. I was occasionally taking ibuprofen but have stopped completely now. I'm also on mtx, folic acid, norco for pain and also xanax. The doc said she wasn't too worried but she wants to watch it. I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same sort of thing.
Avatar n tn You can progress very rapidly to NO kidney function and be on dialysis and having to wait for a kidney transplant. And we all know how that one goes--there is a shortage of transplantable kidneys and they go to the people who have been on the list the longest. So get to a kidney doctor now!
Avatar f tn When Dad is in heart failure he needs additional dosages of diaretics. Too much diaretic can effect kidney function and too little will effect heart function. We did see a kidney specialist concerning this, and the primary care physician is in communication with him. Dad also has vascular dementia. I know how hard dealing with memory loss can be for both patient and family. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Avatar m tn and creatinine is very poor test for kidneys function, for example body builders can have high creatinine but everything is fine...it is too dependent on muscles and many with kidneys damage never get it abnormal much better all the other tests by the way hbv damages kidneys too, it can infect kidneys but not replicate there.
Avatar f tn I have had back pain around kidney area for a few months and went to docs. She examined me and said my right kidney was inflammed. I was starting to get some pain right side under ribcage too. Mild dull ache type pain. Also still around side and back. Went back 2 weeks later and she examined again and said kidney had gone down but could still feel it. Sent me for an Ultrasound scan. I went on Wednesday this week.Thursday the surgery called me to make appointmen for a blood test (LFT).
Avatar n tn I am a 60 year old female who takes metoprolol 50 mg for high blood pressure. Ever since I started taking this medication, I have a tendency to have "heart flutters" off and on throughout the day...usually just one or two "thu-thumps" each time. I find that if I eat a banana in the morning and one in the evening it cuts down these "flutters" at least 75%.
Avatar n tn Two normal kidneys account for 100% of kidney function. A single kidney provides about 50% of kidney function. One can lead a normal life with one kidney as long as the single kidney remains healthy. When kidney function drops to less than 50% of normal, the risk of health problems increases. Serious health problems are more frequent when kidney function drops to below 20%. Dialysis or transplant is necessary if kidney function falls to 15% or below.
Avatar n tn His cardiac surgeon was concerned going into surgery about his right kidney because of his kidney function. He has had kidney stones in past and has had problems since with it. I'm hoping this is just due to surgery since it was an 8 hour procedure. Any info about this would be helpful.
Avatar m tn I have just started taking Metoprolol, and now have kidney stones. I have not had one in a very very long time. I know Vit D causes them for me. But I've been looking trying to find some answers myseld.
Avatar f tn She switched me to 100mg ER Metoprolol to take in the morning and 20mg lisinopril for the night. I had to take my bp every day and went back every week. Every week it would be high at the dr Office and she would increase the lisinopril. Mind you, I didn't take prescription anything prior to this except maybe an antibiotic when needed. Now I'm on these high doses of bp meds. Initially I thought well I'll get used to them, there's always an adjustment time.
808904 tn?1307057809 mine was 0.04. So I guess I am doing ok...liver and kidney function were fine. At first I thought the kidneys might have something to do with the bp #'s but nope. * am such an anxious person..I really appreciate your response. Means a lot.
Avatar f tn I know from my own kidney disease (CKD) and my siblings and mother kidney problems that we have PKD. It’s genetic from one parent which means it starts later in in life (30+yrs or older). If both parents carry the gene then problems start in early childhood. My daughters started at age 2 and she is 43 with high BP and other kidney problems. Drugs can cause problems but you usually recover with minimal damage.
Avatar f tn The blood urea nitrogen or BUN test is primarily used, along with the creatinine test, to evaluate kidney function. Those with advanced cirrhosis may have an impact on kidney function as their liver function progressively fails. This is why the creatinine level is one the the blood tests that make up the MELD score that determines the need for liver transplantation. Typically when a patient experiences Hepatorenal Syndrome as a result of cirrhosis a HIGH creatinine level is seen.
Avatar f tn t have high blood pressure, just tachycardia and the metoprolol really helps keep that in check. Should I just stay on metoprolol and try the cialis and see how it works or should I try the cardizem?
Avatar n tn Hi, Even my issue is the same. I am on Metoprolol 25mg from 1 year and before my potassium level was 4.3 and now it has gone up to 4.9. Can you please guide me what you did after that?
1347434 tn?1282591778 Hi Guys, Had quarterly follow-up with my electrophysiologist on 2/18. He had increased my Nadolol from 40mg to 60mg a day back in November and by Christmas I was so sluggish and bound up I didn't feel like I could function any more. I cut back to 40mg and was able to poo and get out of bed again.
